+Zyufin Nelson Huffman Thank you! I thought it, but it's not easy, now. Anyway, the paintings chosen for Cage's music (from 1951) are all paintings by Robert Rauschenberg
Man my teacher send an activity and told us to hear this music. I really didn't liked it. It makes me feel so strange. I think I can't hear it by complete. It's so annoying. But well, I'll keep waiting for it end, this 25 minutes could be faster. It wouldn't be a problem, and would make me feel so good.. This quarantine is almost killing me, this activities too. I just wanna the end of this. I just want it to end. I miss my friends so much. I miss my school so much. Damn covid, it's all your fault fucking piece of shit
Cage said that if something's boring after one minute, try it for two, if still boring for four, eight, 16, 32 ... eventually you'll find it's not boring at all but very interesting. But then cage was a Buddhist. Good luck with your quarantine ... you made me chuckle.
It might be helpful to consider what the composer was trying to do. John Cage played a lot with finding beauty in randomness, removing the element of intentionality as much as possible, leaving for the composer the role of discovering a piece through trial and error. So if you're listening to this thinking "weird combination of elements, but ok, let's see where this is going", that might be a good starting point. Then again, you might find it aesthetically displeasing and that is fair, too.
I'm just not a fan of classical instruments... voice, flute, etc. and that prevents me from enjoying this music. The harmonic content, eg. the tones are incredible though. Fantastic. I think reproducing this with synthetic material would be perfect. Kinda adding a toxic vaporous electric character to it. i don't know, i just don't like instruments. Only piano maybe.
Loving music but not loving (whole) instruments is like... loving painting but not loving colours ? Loving writing but not loving words ? Is it posible ? Yes, indeed !😉
so good...

Que lindo!!! 😍
I think your channel is beautiful. Have you thought about adding artist/piece names for the images as well? I would like to look at more of them.

I think you would love Eric Whitacre's choral music.
