There was another point in "Why stick with Nerf" that I wanted to make, but ran out of time and stamina to include. Also, I forgot about it and thus I apologise for that. While Dart Zone has arrived in Singapore, the same can't be said for all other non-US countries where the Nerf is widely available and relatively popular. DZ is a smaller brand that doesn't have as much capital/budget to expand into as many territories as Hasbro can. And in some countries, some DZ's advantages are negated; for example, in the UK and various European nations, it used to be that the only way to acquire DZ was through third-party groups, who imported lower-powered variants (i.e. standard Nerf performance) at a premium price. However, X-Shot and/or Buzz Bee might be available as an alternative in some of these regions, but again, not always. Here in Singapore, Buzz Bee has left us long ago while X-Shot retreated to Toys R Us and smaller toy chains. That said, my focus was more on regular darts blasters, with a bit of stretching to RIVAL-style blasters. Rather than a hobby-tier range like the DZ Pro and Max lines (which are too powerful to be legally sold in certain countries). Additionally, just because competing brands may not be available/as prevalent as Nerf in some nations, doesn't change that some of these issues are Nerf's own faults. The knowledge of competing brands is really only relevant for Point #1, half of which focuses on the insistence of Elite darts and superior 3rd-party alternatives (including none DZ darts).
Dude this video is amazing! There was so much effort put into it.. only for 6k views.. I really hope more people start watching your videos, cause they really are very well made
@@bottlely Yeah I've been there.. I made a lot of videos that only got 10-30 views each until I finally starting getting an ok amount of views.. It only took around a year for me, but I dont know about other people.. I think you should continue making videos, because they really are amazing videos! But at the end of the day, its your decision whether you want to continue making videos or not.. Whatever you decide to do tho I am completely fine with as long as you are happy with your decision..
Great video, I thought it summed things up well. I had stopped paying attention to Nerf a few years ago and when I started looking again recently I was saddened to see the current state of affairs. I'm still somewhat in disbelief. Also, good video, good explanations, and I like the bottle's expressions. And since you asked, I thought the transition at 18:02 looked good.
This is really good! I can tell that a lot of effort went into this video and the editing. It's unfortunate to watch Nerf's questionable decision-making over the years but I'm still hopeful that they'll put out good things in the future.
Oh hey! Thanks for coming by! Most viewers would never know, but for nearly a month straight, I kept seeing the same rehashed Nerf or Nothing jokes on my old BoomCO video ua-cam.com/video/hrmmq95ufZE/v-deo.html I've been wanting to make this video out of pure spite. But I do hope that Nerf will make decent stuff again, less of that Elite 2.0 stuff. Dart Zone arrived in Singapore though. I've been meaning to pick up a DZ Max Nexus Pro
This is a really really well made video and I appreciate the obvious effort put in to researching the topic youre discussing, which is something few people seem to do any more when making critical videos. Always refreshing to see. Great video
Did Hasbro or Nerf get a new CEO or something? Because I can't think of any other reason as to why Nerf went from being the gold standard of quality to de-throning itself from its only positive.
Nerf used to be at its prime before toys r us closed down that’s why I starting buying dart zone stuff and Zulu and other stuff which was sometimes the blaster was cheap but good performing and reliable
12:55 I had something like that where it sounded like little balls were loose in the gun in one of my zombie strike guns, think it was a crossbow like one
Companies need to stop producing toys with cheap production and expensive market prices, the hell happened to making toys with quality and care Mattel made Thomas go to s- Now hasbro with nerf, at least their GI-Joe and Transformers stuff is pretty good
They recently announced the new Rival line, and they are saying that is going to be more accurate, and I'm really concerned that it's going to be like ultra all over again
Honestly they're is nothing wrong with competitors, actually is better having them than not since it's healthier for the market and the consumers but it's just nerf that is being a bit lazy in some parts
All reasons why nerfers hates nerf must be thrown to Hasbro, because Hasbro is greedy, idiot and pretty much destroying the nerf Brand. I hope Hasbro will fate. Not NERF. Btw , when you feed x-shot darts into motorized blaster like Nerf strife it Jams Tremendously. Fun fact (every nerfers Need to read these!!!!) Never buy Any x-shot Magazine Fed Blaster because there mag well will not accept Nerf Elite magazine because x-shot Magazine is slightly shorter so when you try to feed x-shot Blaster with nerf magazine, you will gonna have bad time, so stick to Nerf magazine system
11:55 I never really got why people were so mad about the blasters being clipped together with solvent welds, and I still don’t. I mean, I understand why it can be frustrating for modders, but for little kids or casual stock players, it’s a literal non-issue. If my elite 2.0 blaster breaks or gets internally dirty then I’ll just buy another one, and return the broken one! That not only is faster than opening it up if it had screws, but there’s pretty much a guarantee that you won’t risk fucking the blaster up more! It’s such a stupid criticism, and argument parroted by people who have enough intelligence to fix a blaster, but not enough to know how to return something. 12:20 I’ve said it before, but LEAF SPRINGS ARE FINE. Something a lot of people don’t understand about them is that as long as the leaf springs are used for triggers or magazine releases, THEY WILL NOT BREAK. No only because they are taking a smaller load, but also because of how they are designed. You see, plastic leaf springs are designed by hasbro engineers to not stretch past or get compressed past their natural strength in a blaster. The only way a plastic leaf spring will break or get weaker is if you hold the trigger down for hours, or compress it yourself. The warden sucks, but I’ve also had similar problems with thee rough cut, not as many, but a lot to were I’ve had to buy like 3, and haven’t touched the 3rd one or used it very much.

Listen... The Atlas... Is awesome
I disagree. The entire idea of a shotgun is to have an actual spread, which the Atlas just doesn't.
@@thefitness-grampacertest9364 it does... Just not optimal, I just love it for the single shot mods
Gotta love how they ditched/phased out the primary rival line soon after this.

Very concise, perfectly explains how I and many others feel about a brand I still love but have trouble trusting.

Oh how I wish Nerf would listen. Mainly, make a decent new dart.
This is a great summation of all of the hobby community about the brand.
As a deploy owner, I love it

At least today they actualy make new elite 2.0 blasters that use screws and are worth it (like the motoblitz and trailblazer)
The turbine and the motoblitz are worth it in elite 2.0

LIES LIES ALL LIES
FPS is not a problem. Low FPS is good for young children. Parents will not buy high FPS foam blasters
