i don't like a-rod but no one deserved to be purposely hit by the ball. but everyone knew that was on purpose even ryan i believe admits it later that he did on purprose i think he the only who has adminting going after a player
Yeah right this was the same ass crack who tried getting away with knocking the ball out of Arroyo's glove yeah a real class act... just like the class act of Yankee fans who saw what happened & didn't give a shit & started throwing shit on the field like a bunch of brainless idiots... REAL CLASS ACT...
@@ogrebattle22763 There's a difference between smacking a glove and a man trying to hurt you during a damn game. Jesus you people can't just accept Boston did a bitch move that night..you can't compare pitches thrown behind you to anything Alex did
Arod is the fuckin man, now and forever. 3 time MVP. Ortiz pales in comparison, he is a juice head and couldn't hold Rod's jock in a suitcase. Arod and Barry Bonds are the two best position players we saw in the last 30 years. Your favorite athlete probably did PED's at some point. Act like you know
I'm not an A-Rod supporter, but all of you people answer this. Did he fail a drug test? Nope. Did he admit use on his own? Yes. How many other ball players have done it? Easily hundreds....best line of this interview? "I'm the last person to ask about suspensions."
As a Yankee fan, as much as I dislike his decisions about cheating, and I do not necessarily like him, he does play the game with heart and soul and he loves his teammates, and that you have to respect.
You know, as a die hard Red Sox fan I'll admit Ryan Dempster's actions were very unprofessional and should have been taken into account by the umpires controlling that game. However, I can understand the man's frustration with Alex Rodriguez's actions as well. In this interview, he says "I focus on the game and play baseball the right way," but that baffles me. How is he playing "the game" the right way by cheating to win? With all due respect, not trying to start any controversy between any Yankee fans, but the man was creating a legacy in New York until he got caught participating in the Bio-genesis scandal and because of a bad choice that legacy will not be considered as much now. Yes, he's still talented, but he will not be remembered or talked about as much as Jeter will be.
Danny Brown Many players have been caught, including David Ortiz. The fact is that in proffesional sports PEDs are used all the time by the greats. Im a Yankees fan and I wouldnt be surprised if Jeter used them. Im not accusing anyone but just because your not hitting 50 home runs in a season routinely doesnt mean youre not cheating. It takes the most skilled players to produce numbers like those. For those who dont know when Babe Ruth played steroids were around and not tested for. Not saying he or anyone of that time used, just saying some could have.
True! But with steroids being a huge thing nowadays athletes are being tested quite a bit for any usage of them. They weren't really stressed back then and the doctor's really weren't specific on what medicine players were prescribed for an injury was legal and illegal. But I see your point. And to be perfectly honest with you...I don't see Jeter doing that. He's a true leader and I have nothing but respect for that man.
Danny Brown Me niether but hey who knows. Anderson Silva one of the greatest fighters of all time and a hard worker who said cheaters should be banned got caught using PEDs. Who ever thought he would use right? Also Lance competed in the olympics were the strictest form of testing is used and never got caught. Baseball does urine tests that even if the drug is in your system they are passable sometimes let alone when you time your doses right and evade testing like Lance did in the highest level of testing. Like I said not saying everyone uses but those who dont are fool considering many are and will be getting paid more if say there skill is the same but one has a little help.
Many people tend to be slick and say things that creates not so much a character for a person but directly catches the public's attention so they can become a fan and not think that a reputation will be created if the right words are said, but like you said there's different testings out there to prove all that. I don't judge people who do it, but it's just not the right way to go about doing things. I mean, you're putting your health on the line and cheating to boot. That's a great reputation to have and a great risk to take, huh? There's other ways of going about the situation. But hey I understand where you're coming from as well.
Danny Brown I agree with you. There is no need for teenagers and guys in their early twenties to risk their health just to succeed in a sport because others are using but thats in the world we live today.
It's easy to hate A-Rod. Stupid people hate A-Rod. None of us know him. Tons of people cheat. Lots of players did or do PED's. I don't believe cheating and doing PED's are the same thing necessarily. The reason people hate A-Rod is the money... Period.
Your right. He earned big money. That's the only difference between him and other PED users. I'm not saying he should be loved but the hating him and not Braun is stupid.
Yeah I agree. Once trying to hit him was fine, that is to be expected but the second time when he tried to hit him was unprofessional on Dumpster's part. I understand A-Rod did a terrible thing ,and Dempster had the right to try and hit him ,but the second he through that second intentional beaning he was just lowering himself to A-Rods standards of baseball if you know what I mean.
Fallenbaserunnr4 Agreed, to an extent. It's a Red Sox/Yankees matchup and A-Roid seriously disgraced the game. It was to be expected and I welcome it, at least a little, but on the same token, it is unprofessional.
I feel bad for A. Rod. He's suffering the consequences for something he did years ago. He has a good attitude and knows that it was wrong. But all the reviews and videos I see about him says that his only focus is to do good in baseball regardless of what the masses say. I realise doing steroids was wrong, but he still has my up most respect. Good luck A. Rod. :D
Have you seen the plays where he slaps the ball out of the first baseman's glove and screams at the second baseman trying to distract him from catching the ball? Very childish.
KGILLS So? How do you know he doesn't still take roid. Plenty of guys who never tested positive, like Bonds for ex. took roids, and Ortiez DID test positive.
They did this to my son in little league a pitcher who didn't even play in my son's league went to the pitchers mound with his dad right by his side to distract my son and before I could grasp something was wrong and say something the kid pitched a sin pitch into my son's mouth. He is an adult now, he and his dad hurt my son really bad so they are in hell. It's not nice to be mean and abusive not for any reason
I agree, but if you are caught speeding going 10 mph over the limit and get a $50 ticket and I get caught speeding by the same cop, on the same day, going 10 mph over the limit and get a $214 ticket I am going to fight that ticket and court. The collective bargaining agreement that the MLBPA and MLB both signed says for a first violation you get 50 games, where the heck do they get a number like 214? I have a very strange feeling that this suspension will be reversed on appeal.
First Of All, Alex Rodriguez Is Not An Attractive Person And A Latino Women. He Is Not Responsible As A "Gay" Person. When Arod was pissed, he didn't express it a lot of the time. But he had some big hits in his career when the pressure and hate was on him. He played better with a chip on his shoulder. I'll give him credit for that. That being said, he lied and was self centered over his career. When Jeter doesn't necessarily like you, the problem is with Arod.

"Unprofessional and silly" says the guy who swatted at/intentionally interfered with someone tagging him out (2004 ALCS, game 6) and yells, "I got it!" while running bases to confuse fielders. He's a scumbag. His anger is hilarious.
Well, none of these players lied to Congress or a grand jury, so not exactly. It's not illegal to use PED's. My only real concern is why people only talk about A-Rod's wrongdoing when 20 other players were caught as well. It's complete bullshit and shows the idiocy of the public.
I just don't understand why people call this guy a scumbag and get very angry at him. It's just a game, he hits a ball with a wooden bat. REALITY CHECK they just gave Bradley Manning 35 years in prison. Journalism as we know it is never going to be the same. NSA, NDAA, all these power grabs for our freedoms and you guys worry about a silly game.
Steroids and HGH are not illegal. They are just against the rules in baseball. I type on a computer for a living, if I could take a pill prescribed by my Dr. that make me type faster than my coworkers I'd take it in a heartbeat. People take all kinds of shortcuts at work that give them an edge, I don't judge Alex for making a shortcut I wouldn't hesitate to make. If you told me I could sign two $250M contracts by taking another shortcut I'd do it in a heartbeat. A-Rod is a smart man.
I remember this like it was yesterday. Hard to believe that the Red Sox looked like the bad ones out of this. Their move completely backfired and almost made fans side with Alex lol
I am not saying that I like A-Rod; I don't, but unsoicited attacks cannot be be tolerated. One guy gets hit for PEDs. Then a guy gets hit because he cheated on his wife. Then a guy gets hit for his religious views. Where does it stop if the attack was unprovoked?
When I said "those other players" I was referring to the 20 guys caught in the Biogenesis scandal. MLB is just trying to make an example of A-Rod because he is the most well-known, by far, of those caught. That's not a fair or justified way of deterring PED use in the future. Ryan Braun's 65 game suspension is a perfect contrast to show how BS it is that A-Rod got 211.
Didn't A-Rod slap Arroyo's glove to avoid a tag in the ALCS? That doesn't sound professional at all...neither does taking HGH to get an edge. Call me crazy...
No other players appeal their suspensions, they do there time and the are good to go. But A-rod appealed so he could play and get boo's and get hit by pitchs
How do you consider 211 games to be "a FEW games"?! It is the harshest MLB suspension in DECADES! You're treating his suspension like it's nothing, which makes no sense. It's an ENORMOUS suspension!!!
well first off, this isn't the first time he's been caught..... secondly, from what I was told by fans of the sport, he appealed it........ and he is allowed to play until the appeal date. If the appeal date is next year, then he gets the rest of the season to play. He can just keep appealing and playing.. that's what I would do.
A-rod's being suspended for a season and a half. If you hate A-rod there's your bone. So people need to stop saying he shouldn't be playing because it's most likely the last time he'll ever play.
"They are men." What does that mean? I'm a man. Does that give me the right to hit someone on my job because they cheat on their timesheet and still get paid? Absolutely not. Look, I don't like A-Rod, not one one bit, but there has to be order otherwise all descends into chaos. .
Unprofessional? Its a rivalry! It was unprofessional to slap the ball out of Arroyos glove 9 years ago, and it was certainly unprofessional to take PEDs.
Ive been an A-Rod fan since he was with the Mariners. Fuck all the haters, he is a beast and even though he may not be in the Hall of Fame in future years, I have been and will be by his side on everything else that happens to him in future years.
This was about a child and a man. Not about winning / losing or cheating. The pitcher was obviously the child.... throwing a ball at someone..... What a punk.
"im the wrong one to be asked about suspensions" lmao
lol he gave an honest answer I'll give him that
That was not funny at all. it shows how arrogant he is and how much he deserved to get hit by that pitch.
dsiagree i don't like a-rod but there no reason to purposely hit someone
ryan demster was a jerk but he admit to hitting a-rod on purpose you go to give him credit admit to it after so many years
i don't like a-rod but no one deserved to be purposely hit by the ball. but everyone knew that was on purpose even ryan i believe admits it later that he did on purprose i think he the only who has adminting going after a player
A-rod was so mature about this, making the Red Sox look like children
I'm a Yankee fan and glad he got hit lol
FUCK him he's a piece of shit final
Yeah real mature of him to cheat, fuckin bum

A-Rod played during his appeal in accordance with the MLB Player's Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Ive been an A-Rod fan since he was with the Mariners. Fuck all the haters, he is a beast and even though he may not be in the Hall of Fame in future years, I have been and will be by his side on everything else that happens to him in future years.
You know what else is unprofessional? Lying and Cheating
