Holy Jim Fire California Wildfire Wednesday PM Update | Horsethief Canyon and Temescal Valley

7pm update on the Holy Jim Fire from our viewpoint in Temescal Valley. The fire definitely moved in closer to the community last night and extended it's footprint North towards Santiago Peak. We went the entire day without air support as it appeared to be dedicated to the Orange County fronts. The fire made it's way to the final ridge this evening before approaching homes and the air support suddenly came in dropping retardant lines. The community is currently under mandatory evacuation. Thank you to all the firefighters protecting our communities, we cannot thank y'all enough!!!

Hoag, great shots of the air drops ! I got up to the top of Mountain for the last 8 passes. I'm putting together a short video - when I get some time to finish it and polish it. Can I splice in a couple of yours of the DC-10 with the different camera angle of the same passes ? More of a tribute to the Air Attack. Thx.

We look good, fire is still behind the ridge above Lemon Grove. Thanks to air attack last night it didn't get a chance. Still mandatory evacuation but things are looking better for us than Elsinore.
