I just watched this episode yesterday. Hoping Kitchen Cray was somewhere I could find easily! Today while I was on the bus I looked to my left and saw it! The future DC Kitchen Cray!!!!!! Yeeeeeessss!!!!! #SHEREADY!#CANTWAIT! #MACNCHEESEHORELIKECLIFF!
My first experience of Kitchen Cray was at a pop-up at Dirty Martinis in DC. I appreciate his hustle and it's been cool to see the business expand. My eyes welled up when he offered up his space as a pop-up. Such a beautiful spirit. And the food is so flavorful!!! The mac n cheese part of the mac is good, BUT.THAT.LOBSTER...... Arguably the best I've had. Can't wait to go back and try their oxtail. Can't believe I've never heard of Chef Gee. I look forward to checking her menu out. She seems amazing. Thank you for this series!
My mother (she is 80) and my Aunts have been doing that since I can remember and I'm Gen X born 1974...when they really felt festive okra got tossed in with the greens mixture.
Right lmao I just made some cabbage and greens for New Years. I posted it on my page @sleauxfood. We're from Louisiana and been doing that, I guess it's just a southern thing.
You're in my city...Kitchen Cray's food is really good, I had the Shrimp Omelet with potatoes.. My daughter is 14 years old, she's been cooking since 8 years old. Her interest is to be a Chef, I'll look forward to JR's cooking classes for her. Thanks for supporting my city.
I'm from Maryland I have a 10 year old granddaughter that cook she been in the he kitchen with me since she was under 1 year old when she was able to sit on my counter while I cooked. She wants to be a chef
I have been waiting on this episode and boy did y’all deliver. Mad I didn’t turn my cooking into a real business but pleased to see these two chefs from my hometown showing what the hustle and success looks like.

@@thrillist Could you all stop promoting these black cooks who are running an illegal unlicensed tax invading UNDERGROUND businesses on social media?! Do you know that you're exposing them to legal action?! You know, like felony illegal substance, operating a unlicensed/non permitted business, and tax evasion?!
I appreciate all of these episodes, but this one brought me to tears. The way he extended an invite for her to share her passion with his customers. He a REAL ONE!!! Genuine VIBES N LOVE from him. Much respect. Can't wait to watch her Pop-Up episode. Please make that happen Thrillist.
I enjoy the video!I like what the show is about. Seeing black chefs make a name for them self building there brands from instagram and it inspirational for me to start my brands. Thank you!
My mom has been making Cabbage and Collards all my life and it's delicious. I made it for my boyfriend when we 1st met, and he fell in love with it...and me lol
Really? So a person that's running a unlicensed tax-free illegal business who never went to culinary school/never earned the title of being called a chef is your inspiration? Not the Chef/Restaurant owner Chef JR Robinson who got his education and created/build his business? Wow! It's like you're by the street corner drug dealer instead of a degreed Chemist/Pharmaceutical Technician.
YAAAASSS CHEF GEEE!!! I SO wanna be at her house for Mother’s Day and all holidays!! 😩😩 Her food is definitely made with love. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 I’mma try not to miss out this Saturday.
these weren’t my favorites dishes and tbh i never even had ox tails but these 2 individuals (the 2 chefs) were both so humble and just real these is my favorite episode to date ... wish more success to these 2 ✨🎉

This show is my new fav! completely fills the void left by No Reservations. Plus Cliff is the most magnetic host.
One of my favorite parts of the show is how Cliff takes one chef to another. This is great edification of spirit with skill.
