Agreed! This is the BEST Aussie film ever. And I'm a Kiwi, too. Although, Welcome to Woop Woop, and Hercules Returns are also two other great Aussie films. Oh, and by the way, Collingwood is, was, and forever will be, THE greatest ARL team.
Petra orange juice, four n twenty pies, dandy hams & bacon, and ballantynes chocolates. Wasn't those the prizes on the old Lou Richards Handball comp on World of Sports!!
Petra Orange Juice!!!! the footy show I hope that's how you say it. It was the add for the OJ on the old footy show! Good old Kink, Ricky the old Pies! Rodney and the Shaws.
The Karmichael Hunt of the 70's, an over paid, over hyped, crock load of shite. At least the character in this film came from a football state and could play footy. Still, one of the best Australian films and one that brings back fond memories of when football was a game and not a business, it's the reason I follow VFL and not AFL.
Surendra Sharma it’s based on David Williamson’s play which was featured a nameless club. It has nothing to do with Collingwood apart from that’s the club the used. Notice it’s always referenced to as the club never as Collingwood apart from when done by commentators
Because he was bought by the club's executives for $120,000 (which was a massive price for a player back in those days along with another $10,000 out of the club president's own pocket) and all the other players were upset about it.
I live in the States. This is one of my favorite sport films of all times. I wish I could get some of these Aussie films on DVD here.

The English Soccer Club Derby County adopted the tune Up There Cazaly as their anthem Steve Bloomers Watching.

MANCHESTER UNITED F.C Yep. And every film about football is shite. This film is indeed the best sports movie ever
@M why are you on every afl video ever made
I would have liked to see a sequel based on the modern state of footy.
The sneering look on Tank's face at 0.17 is fantastic !!
Agreed!

"Sunday Too Far Away" is the BEST Aussie film IMHO
AFL, 😊
Haha. Calling Collingwood the best while not being aware in what competition they play. Not surprising.
I love this movie :):):)
Watch the DVD of this at least twice a year.
Was reminded of while watching world championship Wigan v Penrith. Oops wrong game!
I love this movie. Go Collingwood.
Great footage, no other club gets a film made after them, especially not the lygon cheats from down the road!

Up there Cazaly high pitched
Great Movie, Even though I'm a Richmond Man 😉

Classic stuff, they should make an updated version, but which club do you feature for the new version?
The Swans
Has to be hawthorn
yes
March champion.
it was 80's, not 70's. and he comes good in the end
Is that John Howard (the actor)??? So young looking. And isn't he guy with the moustache the guy who played Clancy in Man From Snowy River?
Sure is
No cars were stolen to make this movie.
@DunlopDaytona AFL perhaps?

sliat1981 yeah you got a point my farther played for collingwood in the 70s and he was offended lol
Chris Elliott your “farther” will get over it
wearing an essendon jumper at a training session? i wonder how much they'd get fined for that nowadays?
Yes mooietoffee
Why do they all hate that new player?
Because he was bought by the club's executives for $120,000 (which was a massive price for a player back in those days along with another $10,000 out of the club president's own pocket) and all the other players were upset about it.
@@big-x418 thank you for the response
They made the film about the wrong club. They lost, again and again.
