I can see why this wasn’t included, not every scene the viewer likes is gonna make it, but this is a sweet little scene to look back on. It had some nice touches in it. Especially the rocky road bit
Why are there so many deleted scenes of Oliver and Laurel? They have great chemistry, even when they're not together as a couple, thanks in no small part to Stephen Amell and Katie Cassidy. I'm not sure I dig Felicity as a character at the moment- she really can be a little irritating, even when she's trying to be cute and bubbly. I'm not saying she and Oliver don't work together, but the writing in seasons 3 &4 were lackluster in that area compared to Oliver and Laurel. Seeing this scene and all of the other deleted scenes makes me wish we had the real Laurel back- it wouldn't get us quite to the GA/Canary dynamic we want, but it would still be interesting as long as they had strong writing. In the meantime, I'm ready for Dinah to be the new Black Canary since she actually is the badass that the character should be, and we'll have to see if Black Siren is capable of redemption. P.S. Well I guess we don't need 100 scenes of Laurel being rude to Oliver, but I do think that showing the relationship more would have possibly helped in getting people on board with the relationship. I'm not sure that they DO have the chemistry though is the problem. I think they started cutting a lot of Lauriver scenes because they just weren't meshing. By 2x01, it's clear the writers had decided to drop Laurel as the love interest and then he moved on with Sara. and then I guess on to felicity but I still think it came out of left field when Ollie dropped the L bomb in 3x01. I was like wooooah there buddy. What'd I miss? Ya know what I mean? I do think Oliver and Felicity do work but the writing for it was really sloppy either in developing it throughout season 2 OR what they should have done which is use season 3 to build up to love.
at the very LEAST I was positive it was going to be FELICITY who'd say it first since she clearly liked him throughout season 2. A love confession is just so out of character for Oliver because it requires so much vulnerability. He keeps everything really close to the chest. Logically it should have been Laurel who get through that because they already had a foundation for it.
Once again she says she's known him but this time it's at the beginning of the series so we wouldn't have known better. It should've been left in because it seems there's more to Laurel and her relationship with Oliver.
I actually agree, i'm totally an Olicity shipper- but i do think that if they would have build a proper LaurelxOliver relationship i may have been more willing to jump on that ship rather than have to seek out a different one. with that being said, at this point of the show (post season 2 finale) i am far more invested in Olicity than i can ever see myself invested in LaurelxOliver.
BPAdemo That's the problem right now, they've made us invest in Oliver and Felicity, and keep pointing out great reasons to deep-six Laurel and Oliver. It's gotten to the point where if Oliver and Laurel did get back together I'd just think she's an idiot, and he's not the person I thought he'd be.
Lanche Munro yea at this point the best thing for both character will be to move forward with different partners, Oliver with Feliicty and Laurel with whoever they'll introduce that the actress has chemistry with (because i this point i am not 100% sure KC can really act) - although i wouldn't feel half bad if she'll be partnerless at the end, in all honesty i think that would be the best for Laurel when taking into account everything we've learned about her, it may do her good to actually go out there and figure out who she is- which i know is the reason why many fans supported the idea of her leaving for central city with her mom when she stopped the drug and alcohol abuse, at least for awhile. of course that is considering they won't go the GA comic route of Canary/Arrow and the cheating relationship they had- which to my understanding no longer exists in the new GA comics.
BPAdemo When Laurel has nothing to do with Oliver she's fine. And why would she want him when Sara's had him, again. If anything I think Oliver is the one who needs time to breathe. Not run away, but breathe and get away from romantic relationships. The past 2 years have been super hectic. I'm looking forward to a more chilled season to be honest.

Sometimes things are cut for time and sometimes things are cut because they don't feel it serves the story.

Damn Oliver was really young back then, he was also more lean, he bulk up in season 4 onwards.
