God took away his eyes but instead gave him this technique and musicality . Listening to him perform this piano concerto by Rachmaninov. , I am amazed and astonished that this ability .and superb performance is from a sight impaired person . ..This is a blessing from God .

Nobuyuki is the only pianist I've heard, after thousands of others, who plays the opening figures as triplets (which I love) rather than quadruplets as everyone else does. Makes such a HUGE difference in the lyricism. The word "genius" doesn't do him justice.

This is jaw-dropping stuff---the kind that legends are made of. I am still agape. Imagine learning a piece this complex by ear!!!! I cannot. And I have the nerve to call myself a musician!!

Thanks ever so much for turning me on to that little gem, satyu. I found a wonderful performance by two sisters and a brother, Elvira, Ekaterina and Anatoly Polonskie. The music is over on IMSLP to follow along. I believe this was a very early piece by Rachmaninoff. Obviously he was deeply in love with one of the Skalon sisters, probably Vera--I think I remember reading about that in a bio and it was his first heartbreak--how could he not be and write such glorious heartbreaking music.
Well, yes I know the Rach concerti intimately--I played the 2nd & parts of the 3rd before I had to give up piano--but Satyu & I were discussing the "Romance for 6 Hands" from which Rach took the triplet figure to make his 2nd Concerto 2nd Movement. But in reply to your very honest forthright question, "what kind of a musician are you?" --- not a very good one, I'm afraid. :-(
Man, if you'd like a really pro recording, look for the one played by Zoltan Kocsis, Tamas Vasary and one other guy.. All of them Hungarian legends.. It is certainly a beautiful piece but Rach did so much more justice to it in the 2nd PC.. The 2nd PC slow movt's beauty is just incomparable to anything else!
That's how it's written.. It's a polyrhythm.. There's another Rachmaninov romance which has the exact same figurations and roughly even the same melody.. Rach kinda recycled it cos it went unnoticed in the romance..

最初のテンポのズレは 意図的なものであると思う 、審査員側のオーダー だとしたら 辻井伸行 さんがちょっとしたアクシデントに対して どのように対応するか 見られた。 次の可能性としては 中国側の買収 それ以外で間違ったとしたら 指揮者もオケもクビだろ 。辻井さんは この演奏を通して プロとしてやっていけることを 証明したのだと思います 、何かあった時に プロとしてどのように対処するかが ポイントです 。五嶋みどり さんは 演奏中に バイオリンの弦が 一本ならず 二本切れても 演奏を続けてましたね 、辻 井 さんは 小さい時に 自分は勝ち負けなどどうでもいい 楽しんで演奏できればそれでいい とおっしゃってましたね 、これが 一種の悟りです 、悟りを開いた者にとっては 何が起きても 動じないものです 。ピアニストは オーケストラに媚びてはいけない リードしていくんだと 三枝成彰さんが 小さい時の 辻井さんに 教えておられました その通りだと思います 、尊重 するけど 媚びはしない 。失敗したら ピアニストが悪く言われるんだから 自分を貫くしかない 。
コンテストの1位は ゴールではないスタートだ 求 道 者 に停滞はない。
