I was born and bred in Walsall, back in the 40s and 50s. I left in 1962 and have only been back for brief visits to those of my family that remain in the area. One or two things I can recognize but the whole place seems to have changed a lot, for the better, superficially anyway. Really looks very pleasant now.
never been a fan of walsall even though it is only 20 minutes drive away, even if I went there for a night out in the 1990s there always seemed to be a felling of tension around the place, the local lads all seemed to think they were a bit tasty with their fists and that was why I rarely went there. ended up one night one lad pretending to be 'door staff' trying to throw my then girlfriend out, when I challenged him to show me his ID he showed me his gym membership card, he took a swing at me and it bounced off my chin, like a salesman in B&Q asking if I wanted decking he found himself on the floor 2 seconds later, we left got a taxi and went to Wolverhampton and never had any issue. the same feeling I get these days just walking around the town, everything is shutting down, lots of lads with attitude problems but all in gangs who would melt like butter if they had to go one to one in a fight and little to no police to be seen, tbh its the last place I would go unless there was zero option
When they turn up worst bus route in the uk walsalks a dump and the council turned willenhall into a bigger dump taking our taxs and spending it on vanity projects in walsall
So different now from when I lived there back in the 70s and 80s.

Nice walk through Walsall. I do like it there, especially the view of Saint Matthews Church overlooking the town. Great video, keep up the good work.
Thank you
Good memories.

Train station: get a train to birmingham
When they turn up worst bus route in the uk walsalks a dump and the council turned willenhall into a bigger dump taking our taxs and spending it on vanity projects in walsall
