Wow, it's crazy to see how crowded everywhere has become now during hanami. From 1978-1985 we lived in Asagaya, and our two favourite blossom viewing places were Shinjuku Gyoen and Inokashira Park. Back then, there were never any queues to get into Shinjuku Gyoen, and we could always find a car park. As for Inokashira Park, even on a Sunday during hanami there were rarely more than a couple of hundred people there. We sometimes also went to Ikegami Honmonji. There were not so many trees there, but it was never very crowded back then. It's probably also busy now. I looked at the figures, and in 1978 Japan had less than 1.5 million overseas tourists. This year they're expecting 30 million, so I guess it's no surprise that everything is crowded.
Did you live in Asagaya? I miss it. I used to go to Inokashira Park often, too, because there was a good yakitori restaurant there. It is amazing how crowded everywhere is these days. 20 years ago, Kyoto was not so crowded either.
@JapanTravelWalk We lived in Narita Higashi, in front of Zenpukujigawa Ryokuchi, so our nearest station was Minami Asagaya on the Marunouchi line. 40 years ago the area was not as fashionable as it is now, but it was a pleasant area to live, and an easy commute to my work in Yotsuya
@@briannicholls2893 I lived in Honancho on the Marunouchi Line about 40 years ago for about 5 years and commuted to Otemachi. We might have crossed paths somewhere.
@JapanTravelWalk Quite possibly, and I used to drive to Honancho regularly in order to get on to the Kan-nana road to go down to my wife's family home in Tsurumi.

To haniebne przycinanie. Nikt o tym nie mówi, jakby było to coś, czego nie należy dotykać.
Please don’t video the pathways along with numerous food stalls. All these are so tiring to look at. Immediately video, for example, the Tokyo Toshogu Shrine.
Wow So Beautiful God Bless You 💯❤👍🙏 New Subscribe
