Flounders Chowder House, Pensacola Beach, Florida

Saturday, July 22 we decided to cross the Gulf Islands National seashore, about a 7 miles stretch of pristine beach between Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach, to check out Flounders Chowder House. What an amazing day it was! The beach was beautiful so we decided to stop and take a few pics. I hope you think it is as cool as I do!
We finally made it to Flounders and decided to sit inside because it was so hot! They do offer inside and outside seating and you're free to choose what you like. You can even hang out at the sushi bar if that's what you're feeling! Service was pretty good but have to admit it was a little slow getting our order out. No biggie though, we had lots to do and see.
The Flounders decor has been creatively thought out and many of the pieces represent a historical significance associated with the restaurant or the land around it. In fact we highly recommend checking out the "about" section on their website as it lists the stories behind many of the artifices transforming your dining experience to not only a visit to a restaurant but to a museum of sorts.
Once we were done eating there was really no reason to leave with there being so much to do outside on the "Flounders Beach"! With an outdoor bar, beach volleyball courts, outdoor lounge chairs and even a dock and swimming areas, Flounders offers a great deal to do.
Entertainment at Flounders is at the top of the list and they always an awesome live music line up. As you watched in the video, the stage is near and dear to our heart. Every summer we always looked forward to watching our friend Jeff Strahan make his annual appearance, and remembering what is was like to watch him play under the stars with a cool drink and the warm night breeze will be a memory I will always cherish. Jeff passed away very unexpectedly after a brief illness and we miss him a great deal. I highly encourage you to check out the links I have posted below to help carry his legacy forward and keep his music alive.

Before you leave for the day a visit to the gift shop is a must! They sell everything from souvenir trinkets to hard alcohol. Even if you're not planning to buy anything its pretty neat to browse through and if nothing else the air conditioning provides awesome relief to the brutal mid summer days heat!

TOTAL SCORE 73 OUT OF 90 POINTS. In high school Flounders would have received an 81%. Not bad. Definitely recommended.

Just got back from Pensacola Beach. Stayed at the Beach Club, ate at Crabs once which was great and two times at Flounders. Great place to vacation and great people everywhere we went and visited. Thanks man ain't nothing like seeing where you been and people enjoying as much as you.
