Some times I look at what I’m doing and I wonder if I’m an elderly woman in a 19 yr old body lol but in all seriousness what a beautiful practice I want to learn and do this at home and share the experience with my friends
Tea is a great connector; each cup of tea brings us a greater connection to those who around us. Do this more and you will find the inner joy within your heart.
@@FangGourmetTea it’s become a big part of my nightly routine and it brings me so much peace and relaxation it’s just taking some time away from everything that I can’t control and drinking some damn good tea
Try indian chai, strong rich and ⚡️supercharger. You only need tea leaf, water, milk, ginger cardomom(optional) and boil it very hot for long time until thick and strong.
I do this I’m not Asian at all but it’s an art form and very meditative, something about how articulate it is just let’s you enjoy life in the moment for what it is
What an interesting way of brewing tea. i would like to understand more deeply the purpose behind each detail of this process. 🌹 Also, i love the vibration of that light green ceramic; it feels celestial. 🙏
my partner is chinese/filipino and wants this at our future wedding. as a white person i am very scared to mess something up so thank you for videos like this
Im in California and my friends and I have been enjoying gungfu tea ceremonies for quite some time now. i love to take time to drink a good aged puerh. We'll even go to the cliffs by the ocean and pour tea. Whats the name of the music in the background? Love the video!!
Listening to a calm music help to clam our mind. Compared to the painting and music, while we appreciate the painting with our eyes and enjoy the music with our ears, through the Tao of tea, the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and consciousness are all simultaneously engaged. If you bring your consciousness, your awareness to tea, it becomes more than just an art or entertainment. When a tea master brews tea at a peaceful and tranquil setting, while he/she drinks and appreciates the tea slowly, the spiritual activity is like “heart sits in meditation and becomes unaware of this world” of which the spiritual state is even more profound and extensive.

the instrument is "guqin" (古琴 “ancient stringed-instrument”), one of the older Chinese instruments. It is a fretless, bridgeless zither that looks like an oblong board with strings running across the long way and inlaid dots to mark where the harmonics are on the strings.
Yes, good-quality Chinese teas can be brewed at least 5 times. High Mountain Oolong tea can be brewed about 6-8 times; Puerh can be brewed about 10+ times. You will find each cup of tea taste slightly different in its flavor and aroma.
@@FangGourmetTea wow, that's fascinating! So if you buy good-quality tea, you will both enjoy it more and save your money, since instead of drinking one brew of cheap tea, you will drink several brews of good tea. That's something they won't teach you at school :)

It is certainly a wonderful thing to have an "old soul," so don't fret about it. The human soul is neither young nor old; it is ageless. 🍵☯️☺️
@@FangGourmetTea Can I share the link to this video in my blog post about Chinese tea culture?

Good video👍
thank you.
I've seen other videos, one from a shaolin monk, where they only discard the water not the tea leaves. 🤔
How long do you wait for the first brew to steep?
For Guiwan brewing with 5g of leaves, and 100 ml of water: 1st brew takes about 20-30 seconds, depending on your taste preference.
Can anyone recommend a Chinese tea for helping with reflux?

The moment you brew the tea after warming the cups is titled "First brew". Does it imply that the same leaves are brewn several times?

Hello, what is the purpose of discarding the first water in the tea?
It is similar to a first rinse. The tea leaves are rinsed and cleaned with a first round of warm water.
Rinsing tea also helps to "wake up" the tea leaves and prepare them to release more flavor.
