I asked her about marriage and everyone was silent. I knew I said something wrong. I discovered This guy had several girls pregnant at the same time. Had a total of 8 kids at the time. Why? The women would get all expenses paid housing, food stamps, utilities etc. Then on birth certificate states unknown father so he did not have to pay child support. He would take turns staying with different women. This was an entire culture. I was shocked and could not believe it. I am so glad you are addressing this problem. So sad. Brother, the honesty of this whole thing is what alot of us know, but are affaid to talk about. Simply put our culture allows this, it didn't always, but now it does now. Too many black guys are proud to be fathers, but never think or plan on supporting the child, that's made easier when you're not the custodial parent. If our culture celebrates guys with many baby mamas and the women that have no immediate problems with him and keep coming, how is this discouraging to younger guys growing up? Too many black women/girl are willing to have a child planning on 1st-family support, 2nd-gov't support, or 3rd-child support to help raise the (child)ren. Marrige is not usually an option for the guys, and it's not an immediate option for the woman/girl, to complicate matters, marrige without gainfully employed parents, educated parents, or trade-school trained parents isn't going to work or last either. I can actually see the game of some women to have a child by a high net worth man, but I don't understand it when it's a pokie or ray-ray that never shown any willingness or potential to support or provide a child/family. I do remember and know that the genetics of the guys plays a role somethings, whatever the reason for having a child with a dusty own it and be honest about your decision to have that child, don't bash the guy. I hear alot of excuse about a conspiracy by the gov't to keep black men out of the home from alot of "educated" black men. We blame alot of things except our culture.

I’ve managed employees who are in this predicament and I wholeheartedly feel bad for their children. They act irresponsible and blame the women for being so needy about child support but are the worst when it comes to work ethic and providing. It’s a sad cycle! Dick Cannon maybe what folks are aspiring to be to but best believe in about 20 years or when he passes we will get a few think pieces on him as a father from his children. Look at Al B Sure he only has 3 children and Quincy came out a few years ago calling his father a deadbeat and recounting his experiences as a children wondering where he was. Thankfully he had Diddy fill in the role of a father figure (his words) but there are so many young boys who don't have that. Then those same young boys go searching what what they didn't have see how hard it is and either do what their father did and leave to have more children or step up when really what folks need is a therapist to help them work though that issue.

It takes two to tango. Im 27; no kids and will not allow myself to sacrifice my health and life to bring a baby in the world for a man that would never commit his life to me. I’m not going for the okey-doke or settling for less
