Hey guys, thanks for sharing your experience. I’m from Caguas, living in FL for 19 years and I’m dying to move back to PR, but to the west coast. Is the rent expensive? Yes, depends on where you live, especially in San Juan. You can find a one bed one bath apartment with fridge and stove, light and water included for $500 a month in Caguas, 20 minutes away from San Juan.
I feel so loved by the locals. People please protect the reefs, beaches and nature resources, pick up trash for fun, and be kind, it will never feel like community unless you respect it. I cursed out a bad fat gringo trying to spearfishing baby tropical fish, at Mar Chiquita. I never been so mad, angry and so protective of isla bonita that day. When you see outsiders coming to exploit what isnt theirs. I totally understand the locals hurt and pain they are feeling about the gringos its not directed to you. Educate people on the why is the right thing to combat the issues.

I work online too. anyways, maybe we weill bump into each other....!! ill be alone :( i wanted to ask im gonna be living with my aunt till i find an apartment...any apartments you know of? my budget is upto 800 ....When are you doing an apartment tour of your place??

Luma is a monopoly, competition always brings down prices. I Love breakfast at Pinky's, gotta give a shout out to the medical cannabis culture! YAS you guys gotta get and use a dehumidifier. PR Neighbors are better than family when you treat them right. Kindness goes along way. The go home gringo applies to the Aholes who come and exploit the people and resources. They need to increase minimum wages and wage growth so teachers, etc can live!

how secure is San Juan? does the ID work the same in the US in the sense that you have to learn how to drive first or can you get the ID (cédula, carnet de identidad, DNI, or however it's called) without much issues (both for US citizens and non-US citizens)? do other Latin Americans experience xenofobia there such as Colombians and Venezuelans? thank you! ps: overtime I think you get used to the humidity, although I've lived in humid climates all of my life and it can still bother me. you usually have to shower multiple times a day because of it too. regarding the furniture, I see people use plastic wrap to preserve it in those climates.

I lived in pr when i was a young boy. I loced it ans went to an english speaking school. But the problem is with PR is they want change but yet no one wants to change. And when there are changes ppl protest, make it make sense
