Lived there for a while while studying at MPC (Monterey Peninsula College). I visit whenever I can (I'm from Rome, Italy... not exactly around the corner). I was missing Monterey and found the perfect video. Thanks!
I enjoyed this, thanks. I lived there in HS, ‘86-‘87. Remember we could go off campus during lunch and sometimes would walk down to the wharf to scam clam chowder samples. Also you could buy little trays of sardines to feed the seals that hung out at the wharf. I imagine that’s not something done anymore… seals are loud and stinky!
This is a great video for Monterey to get a feel for the area! If you enjoy this, I highly recommend watching the movie Peninsula Nights. It’s a romance drama movie filmed right here in Monterey and Carmel. It captures what it’s really like to live in Carmel and Monterey! This video has a lot of the same locations too. Really nice 👍

Miss the the old tee shirt shops & souvenir shops, the old Sly McFly’s for fish & chips & a cold brew. The bar tender would flip your business card up to stick on the ceiling, live music on Friday nite. Those were good times (before Base closure) lol. Sad to see so many closed businesses on Ol Fisherman’s wharf. Love old downtown too.
I don't understand how people are dressed in this video. There's some people wearing jackets, long sleeve pants, multiple layers, even some wearing winter hats. Then there's many other people wearing tank tops or t-shirts and shorts. Lol. I can't tell if it's 80 degrees there or 45 degrees. Anyway, great video, as always! I watch your videos daily, thank you for making them!
Ah Monterey,CA... my ancestors founded this place and Carmel and Salinas. They love me as much as Aberdeen loved Kurt Cobain and Petaluma loved Winona Ryder.

I counted 19 dogs being walked by their family members and just 148 people properly wearing their masks during this whole entire video. Well, I did hear that California has the highest count of Covid 19 cases, so I guess my count makes perfect sense ☺. Too bad 😣
