Los icaros son un tipo de canto medicinal empleado por los maestros curanderos y vegetalistas de la Amazonía Peruana.
Se caracterizan por ser una herramienta que acompaña los rituales chamánicos y las sesiones curativas con plantas maestras. El ícaro se canta por medio de repetición de frases y palabras de poder (mantras andino-amazónicos y diversos cantos vocálicos en lenguas originarias), con armonía y ritmo personal...
El lenguaje arquetípico de los ícaros, contiene una información esencial almacenada a través de milenios por las culturas aborígenes y éstas repercuten directamente en los planos vitales, promoviendo y potenciando el reequilibrio de los centros energéticos, logrando así la armonización deseada....

¿Cómo actúan los ícaros? podríamos decir que al igual que los Mandalas en las tradiciones orientales, lo hacen sobre determinados centros energéticos, mediante vibración sonora, modulando así la función orgánica, y que hay un conocimiento subconsciente que guía al chamán a elegir el ícaro adecuado a cada circunstancia.
