Somewhere I read that you need a relatively new MACOS Firmware. I think the Problem before was, that I started Recovery via Internet and that would only start MacOS Sierra Recovery.
Great info… was your Mac originally with Monterey? I have a 2015 MacBook and was wondering if I need to create one with os that was originally intended for it or if I can use a monterey bootable one???
Just tried this, after installing a new 1TB SSD . I followed your process but in the discutil list it doesn't show my new 1TB ssd, all its showing at the top is apple_hfs macOS base system. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Olá, você está instalando qual tipo de ssd? Aquele parecido com HD no formato ? Ou aquele parecido com m2?
@@AjudaAqui same problem here. M.2.

Obrigado pelo vídeo útil. Isso se aplicará ao NVME M2 blade ssd? ou apenas para SATA SSD?
Eu usei traduções. Você pode responder na tradução em inglês? Obrigado.

Came across this video, and it seemed helpful but I tried it and it still did not bring up my ssd… any other tips or solutions?

Hey I have same issue and followed instructions on my Mac air but received error message Error -69888 could unmount disk Any thoughts ?
Mine also gave the error message. Error -69888 couldn't unmount disk. Can anyone help please
Same!! I’m going thru the messages to see if I can find a solution 😣
Fantastic! Worked perfectly. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
In my case, I was trying to upgrade the MacBook Air SDD from 12gb 1 tb and no matter what disk was not recognised in disk utility UI option or in terminal they way he shown in this video, I was desperate but i read somewhere to restart from this recovery mode and hold CMD+OPT+R instead of CMD+R ( which I used to use earlier) it turned out to be magic and my WD SN 580 was recognised, it was simple trick
Mine says volume on disk0 couldn’t be unmounted because it is in use by process 0(kernel)
Error: -69888: couldn’t unmount disk
Can anyone help with this?
Me too. Get exact same message...
Followed the instruction until (diskutil eraseDisk HFS+ mac disk0) but i received an error saying :”The volume on disk0 couldn’t be unmounted because it is in use by process 0 (kernel) Error: -69888: Couldn’t unmount disk”
What should i do with it? I only have macOS base System when i go to disk utility. Can’t seem to find solution on the net. Please help thank you!
Ola. Isso pode ser um erro do disco ou no cabo de dados do disco.
