    I tried these on my Kato and had to go up a size. I normally go with the medium tips with every type I've had and I have no problem, but these didn't create a seal in my ear at medium and in turn sounded like absolute garbage. Went up to the large ones and they worked fine. Definitely a bit of a weird occurrence for me to have to size up, but they work great.

      @don_spektor  8 місяців тому

      Happy to hear they work well for you :-)
      Makes sense though as the cylinder is less wide at its widest point than an equivalent more cone shaped tip. That's why I liked the ePro tips a tad more, they tend to fit a bit better because they are not exactly a cylinder^^

    These are great for medium to short nozzles. Also I think these are a medical grade silicone. Or tpe? Idk it’s not like xelastecs. Been using them for months and they still look new. Good alternative to spinfit w1, but I prefer the shape of the w1 and comfort. Fiio hs18 is also a similar tip… strait bore , but it’s not a cylinder so it’s more comfortable…..but not good for deep insertion because those are thinner.

    • @don_spektor
      @don_spektor  11 місяців тому +1

      I also have no clue what material these are and Dunu does not specify either. But I assume a good silicone or maybe a hybrid as I also haven't experienced any color change or anything else^^

    I like these tips on the Talos and the Timeless, but they became uncomfortable, downright painful on the Studio4, probably due to that having a more semi-custom shaped nozzle extension, allowing the set (and the tip) to go in further, resulting in the end of the mantle irritating my ear canal. At least, that's what probably happened. So it's a good, unique tip with a good sound but definitely not for everyone and every set. A good addition to a varied tip collection.

  • @miershyk
    @miershyk 2 місяці тому +1

    I finally got these and gave it try, Hated it during insertion because it hurts once it hits the surrounding wall of my ear canal. Probably if there's SS/XS size, I might get it and have it slip deeper into my ear. As it is, once I got past the painful and uncomfortable twisting and insertion, it stays well enough and does help tame the sibilance a bit. Means I can listen to music at a slightly louder volume (though again depends on the IEM because on another pair, the sibilance is quite obvious). But gawd I do feel it in my ears, and I don't know if I can handle always going through that insertion pain. I think cone-shaped suits me better. The good thing is that I don't feel any ear pressure from the Dunu tips...? Also that the seal doesn't break if I move my jaw, unlike most other eartips I've tried. I wish there's an eartip that morphs from round to oval, because that fits my right ear better. Or maybe my ear canal is just real small and I should either find IEMs with smaller nozzle (under 6mm), or short nozzles...

    • @don_spektor
      @don_spektor  Місяць тому +1

      I can imagine... That's why I also said they are too cylindrical for most cases as I had a few IEMs where they also made for a rather uncomfortable fit...
      Maybe consider the ePro? They are a tad more round but still keep most of the cylinder shape.

    Hey @don_spektor, since the S&S has a strict cylinder shaped, would it be a perfect fit for the iec711 clones? 🤔
    I'm trying to find a silicone alternatives that can consistently give the same seal/depth insertion other than using foam tips.

    • @don_spektor
      @don_spektor  2 місяці тому +1

      I personally wouldn't use the S&S in the 711 couplers: real ear canals are S-shaped and with the S&S in the coupler you would insert them deeper than any real ear would be.
      I personally chose an M-size tip with thinner material and a medium-sized outlet for my IEM measurements, which I keep for all of them in order to keep them comparable among each other. This seems to work fine so far and gives me reproducible/consistent measurements.
      Just see which tip you have that's a good allrounder and that stays in the coupler well enough and you should be fine :-)

      I see tysm! It makes sense when you put it that way. I managed to find a decent tip for measuring IEM after reading your reply and scouring some of the tips I received from the different IEMs I've bought.
      And it seems that the size S tip with black nozzle that comes with Artti T10 is a perfect fit for the iec711, and it doesn't fold or collapse on itself when adjusting the position or depth of insertion. 🤙
      And, most importantly, it provides consistent results every time.

    • @don_spektor
      @don_spektor  Місяць тому

      Hey
      Sorry, the answer to this isn't that straight forward as I do not know how long and wide the tips of the EW100 are and how long the nozzle of the EW200 is.
      As a rule of thumb, with longer nozzles, you should size down and with shorter probably up.
      But if you would like a more cylindrical tip, I'd suggest seeing if you can get your hands on the ePro. That tip does a better job in my opinion in terms of comfort & fit.

      Hmm good question. How far do you usually insert your stick tips?

      ik this is 7 months old but i usually use M size which is generally around 11.3 - 11.8 mm so i went for the L size but they do not fit at all. I cant say for sure as I do not have them. However, judging from the shape the S&S might be a bit long and the cylinder shape could also be a bit of a "hit or miss".
      I'd suggest first trying the tips that come with it in all sizes and if that doesn't work see if you need a longer tip or a shorter one. If longer is ok, I'd recommend the ST35, it shorter is needed, the CP360 are a good and not too expensive option :-)

    • @don_spektor

      Yes, these are a PURE cylinder. No ball/ funnel shape whatsoever, really a pure cylinder.
      And that usually doesn't work so great for most people and I would not recommend them if you don't already have a tip that works well for you.
      If you would like to try something more cylindrical though, I would say rather check out the ePro tips. These are pretty cylindrical, but have a light rounding to them which makes them generally fit a bit better in my experience.

      Generell klingt es danach, dass du entweder eine größere S oder ein MS als Tip brauchst. Spontan fallen mir mit größe MS: Velvet, Max, Xelastecs sowie CP360 ein.
      Die 360 nutze ich sehr gerne auf IEMs mit kurzem Auslass, die Velvet funktionieren bei mittel langem sowie kürzeren Aulsass bei mir gut, sind aber wegen der eher "Kugel" Form nicht unbedingt jedermans Sache. Xelsatec sind super, aber die halten nicht sehr lange weil das "Memory Silicon" leider recht schnell als Material ermüdet.

    Could you compare it to the final audio E?

    • @don_spektor
      @don_spektor  4 місяці тому +1

      Sure :-)
      Here a quick summary:
      The S&S are a pure cylinder while the Final E are more of a cone shape. The S&S have a wider outlet and use thinner material. The S&S do conform better to the ear, while the Final E isolate better due to the thicker material. The S&S do not seem to reduce treble or increase it much. The Final E however do reduce treble noticeably, while also making the bass more "tight".
      I'd recommend the Final E only if you want a tighter bass and even then, I'm not a fan of how they fit. Maybe the Final E short fit better, but the normal Final E don't really work for me.
