    Should be dedicated to all the M:C naysayers :-) Great track, great exploration of this machine sonic potential!

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  2 роки тому

      Haha thank you! It’s a really great machine in a lot of ways, deep yet simple and more than capable for sound design, and the sequencer works well for live performance too. It will always have a place in my setup.

    I keep coming back to this. Not a bad idea to release this as a live track.

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  4 роки тому

      That is a good idea! I will probably clean this one up a bit and maybe add a little more. Not sure why this one has gotten the most views so far but o well I appreciate it!

      @@suddenlanguage The appeal is simple: It's a straight, 4 on the Floor House Track with no gimmicks, just like a commercial release you'd hear on the dancefloor, but it has your flavor and the Elektron FM magic setting it apart from the Beatport noise.

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  4 роки тому +1

      @@DawlessHouseMusic Nice, thank you, that is good feedback and good to know. You are right that a lot of times simple is better and less is more. Plus with something like model cycles you can do less and make it sound complex at the same time. I appreciate this!

      It’s very powerful! The cycles and blackbox are both powerful even on their own.

    Every time I think I’ve found the best cycles video I find another! I’ve been contemplating getting a groovebox for a while (last was an RS7000 back in the day!) and at first thought something like a Circuit or Electribe would give me the most mileage. But I really like the sound possibilities of the cycles. Stripped down but so capable in the right hands.

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  3 роки тому

      Yes! There are so many great cycle performances out there and they are all different. So many possibilities with it. It is surprisingly deep for how minimal it is, lots of sound shaping possibilities too and I’m sure updates will bring even more to it.

      Thank you! Glad you like it, it’s an amazing little machine. I recorded into my phone, which might have affected the sound a tiny bit, otherwise that’s the all the cycles. It sounds great live too!

    Is it possible to do an Interstellar remix only on the model:cycle, or would it be easier on the model:sampler, or on neither or the two ?
    I'm looking for a groovebox/sequencer-synth, which could do some cinematographic music, if you know something like that, let me know please

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  2 роки тому +1

      Out of the two, you’d probably have a little more luck achieving sounds like that on the model cycles, but for a synth/sequencer and groovebox the Digitone is going to be able to reach those cinematic sounds a little more easily, it’s a very deep synth/groovebox but a little more expensive than the cycles. There are other synths out there that i don’t have as much experience with that will give you those sounds too, but as far as a sequencer/synth groovebox the Digitone is a good choice. There are many ways to get the sounds you’re looking for and it comes down to personal preference too.

    Super cool. How do you play different patters after eachother? And the chord changes after the sequence ends. Like you have 16 steps of one chord then it changed to a different chord the next 16 steps??

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  3 роки тому

      Thank you. For this, I would start with one pattern, that would have chords, bass, drums, and then extra stuff added, but also would step lock different sounds on each track, so each track has a variety of sounds on it, the chords have a few different chord sounds they blend together. Then copy the pattern and make slight variations to it.

  • @alfredocabello4542

    Excellent work !!! I am about to buy a model cycles. The only thing is that by not having individual outputs, what quality of sound does the final mix have? How did you record this song? Thank you.

    • @suddenlanguage
      @suddenlanguage  4 роки тому +2

      Awesome! And thank you. Yeah unfortunately there is no overbridge yet or individual outs, but the sound quality is still very clean. It can fluctuate with the cycles since you’re working with and blending all these sound frequencies together, I’ve noticed it can get a little muddy around some lower frequencies, which you can probably hear in some parts of this video, and there aren’t any immediate EQ options, but this can be worked around. It also has usb audio too. I recorded this into my phone and only did some slight mixing after. This is pretty much the original recording though. It does sound really nice and can get very deep bass sounds. It’s really good for percussive sounds but can still maintain everything when using every sound type and pushing it to its limit.

      I actually haven’t paired it with the digitakt yet, been to busy seeing how far I can take it by itself. I think it’s going to work really well with the digitakt though. the immediacy of cycles combined with everything digitakt offers will be powerful. I’ll be posting videos with them soon!
