I 100% agree with you on that. When I first heard Prescott's speech, I got so hyped up that I gave him the Hoorahs along with the troops who have heard his speech as well.
You gotta wonder the kind of mindset it put all the troops in though. Most of these guys were conscripts, fresh recruits, young cadets, etc. and Prescott made them feel like they would all come home as war heroes. In reality he was sending a bunch of inexperienced soldiers into the meat grinder. Sure his speech served to motivate the hell out of the Gears, but his rhetoric had to have resulted in a lot of casualties. Bear in mind, the life expectancy for a regular Joe was slim as all hell during the Locust war, so there weren't many veterans left by this time. Then, considering the casualties the COG took from the Lightmass offensive, morale had to have sunk to rock bottom (pun intended) by that point. Come Hollow Storm, you have a bunch of trigger-happy cowboys drilling deep into the inner hollow with no armor or air support, no way to contact high command, and with literally one order: kill anything that moves. The hollows were unmapped, the troops were ill-equipped, and the chain of command had to have been in complete disarray for the first few hours underground. As much of a badass effort Hollow Storm was, it was only a Pyrrhic victory for the COG in the end. There's no telling how many troops died as a result of poor planning and a lack of communication. It wouldn't surprise me if there were still some troops fighting in the inner hollow by the time Jacinto sank to be honest.
In all of the Gears franchise, this is my favorite mission of any of the games because it shows humanities fight for survival hit its peak with the largest offensive in Seran history with the assault on Landown. Every time I watch their approach towards the drill zone under fire, I grit my teeth. Humanity, at this point, didn't have a single soldier to spare, every man was needed to help defend or attack if needed, so to see all these vehicles and men be slaughtered on their advance was so costly and you just had to imagine that there was a better way, poor fellas didn't even get a chance to spill Locust blood.
For the next game, I'm kinda hoping that it will be a prequel concerning the Immulsion wars. I found fighting the UIR soldiers a whole different setting than I did with Locusts, the sense that the battle is between Man vs Man at their most vicious state, not out of a sense of survival but out of a sense of dominance.
The idea of fighting UIR soldiers is kinda bland in my opinion. If I want a man vs man war, I go to COD or battlefield. I'd rather play a gears prequel that explains why Marcus went to jail instead of the Pendulum Wars.
@@denisofGOW I can understand your POV but the Immulsion wars were just a step down than the Locust and Lambent wars in level of brutality. Tai's tribal home village was slaughtered to the last child because they were simply in the way of the UIR's advance

I wish this was on PC, my little brother and I spent countless hours replaying this campaign over and over back on the 360 as kids. such a fun game.
search up Xenia Canary, it is an emulator that will let you play 360 titles.
Microsoft should bring all of the gears games to pc
arent already in PC?? in the microsoft store
@@mariano98ify just the ultimate edition, 4 and 5.
@@mariano98ify 2 and 3 never made it to PC.
Guess there was a plan to port 2, 3 and Judgement after Ultimate Edition. But Ultimate kind of fail so maybe they scratched that.
This is a sign.....played Gears 3 the other day on 360, i think its time too run back Gears 2
My favorite Gears game, the first 3 are sooo good
I’d be thrilled to see a Gears or War 2 Remastered or whatever. It’s honestly my favorites campaign out of all the games.
I miss this series a lot, wish it were on pc
my friend, i am 2 years late but search up 'Xenia Canary", it is an emulator that will allow you to play 360 titles. Ive played gears 1 2 3 and judgement, all on pc with a controller connected.
If you havent played gears 1-3 and you think 4 and 5 are amazing...my friend do I have A SURPRISE FOR YOU
One of the top 3 missions in the game. Gears 2 was my favourite because we get to see and learn more about the lore and we see more of the COG
Watching this after Gears of War E day trailer and can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve played Gears 2. So many good memories and such and amazing game. See you all On Eday
What a masterpiece it was. So many memories
Most likely will be Gears 6, before they consider any other kind of project. At the pace they're going with the story? May even be a Gears 7.
@@electroeel148 Yeah, the UIR and the COG were brutal during the pendulum wars, but the locusts are 100x more brutal. Just think about it: if a gears about pendulum wars was made, you'd go from fighting grubs, corpsers, brumaks and reavers to a simple man vs man conflict. I think that would be a downgrade. A gears game without locusts Is like a Halo without the covenant. Or a doom without the demons. It would just feel weird and bland for me.
@@denisofGOW I didn't say that they were on equal levels of brutality I said a couple steps apart
man... the FPS boost really makes this feel like a whole new game!
DIZZY FOR PRESIDENT, 2024
"WEEEEE-HAAAAAAA!"
those giant vehicles with the turrest remind me of the elephant from halo3, halo3 odst and halo wars~
GOD DAMNIT HIT THE ACTIVE RELOAD ONCE _PLEASE_ 😂
Man Ive only played demo but so much loved GoW
Gears of war 2 is still my favorite game this is a masterpiece
Love how only delta squad and tai were the only ones that survive the ride
What?
there where many others, and you can see it
Actually there was a bunch of others that survived too. You can see this in the hollow with the grind lifts coming through the roof
Thousands of Gears managed to make it into The Hollow, although a lot of them died after getting down there.
Delta Squad was one of the few Squads that were actually making progress down there.
I really hope they make a gears strategy game having battles like this one would be fun
Best mission in the entirety of GoW
Some big push with a few hundred guys. But I like how Gears kept it small scale.
Apparently Thousands of Gears were involved, I guess they just had other drop-points, and you had the second wave that dropped into Nexus
Possibly the most frenetic game ever made, up there with Mass Effect 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Pure adrenaline from beginning to end.
To me, THIS was the moment Gears became Epic for me. I came in during Gears of War 2 and hadn’t played 1 at the time so I had no other moments to go off of.
I loved this game so much. I played the campaign to death.
Man I just wanna see a remaster. It'd be so good!
Watching this made me feel like a teen again when this first came out I miss the old days
For Prescott being an absolute ass he can do one hell of a speech. He had every soldier, every stranded, and everyone playing do a hoorah. Shit went harder than tungsten
My most favourite speech right next to Sky Marshal Dienes one from Starship Troopers.
MS should remastered the first three Gears of War and release it in the new platform
One thing I remember as a kid about GoW is that Dom would not shut the fuck up about Maria
This game was amazing.
"Its go time baby!" Gotta love Cole train
By far one of the greatest speeches about humanity in gaming history
i've been hearing that we might get a remastered of this, this year
34:33 damn I love that mortar sound 🤘
Good ol days
Dizzy is your average Texan citizen
man i miss this game
Gears 2 needs a remaster man. By far the best one imo
gears of war 4 and 5 missing this orgasmic soundtrack
I wish they remastered Gears of War 2 & 3 like they did for the first. one
It began as always with a desire for power
Man am i the only one whos finds it funny when ben carmine says oh here we go
Can someone do a no clip video of this? Where they showed the surroundings helicopters, etc
One more question how the hell these characters run like that So close to the ground
The Golden Rule of a gear: keep your Head down or die
I don’t know if this would be better for movies or a tv series? I would enjoy either one with the right cast.👍🏽
1:22 Dom's reaction cracks me up
people dont understand but after beating gears one were locust were sacry , hard to kill MF were fighting for our own survival was hard enought , Going to them in gears 2 was so heroic and so ballsy
beating them all on insane was insane
I don't understand how we have masterchief collection but no gears of wars collection, and only 1 remaster
Bagus sekali game ini sangat keren terutama grafik dan realistis 👍👍👍
