Salmon Dipnetting The Most Dangerous River For The Most Expensive Fish In Alaska

- We went dip netting on the Copper River in Alaska. These salmon are the most expensive sockeye salmon and we catch them in the most dangerous personal use fishery in Alaska. The fishery is in a canyon that has overhanging cliffs into silty boiling water, if you fall in you are in real trouble. We catch both King Salmon and Sockeye Salmon on our trip here. I made caviar from the eggs and stripped the fillets for smoked dried salmon jerky.
Loved it guy’s, could watch this stuff all day!
Damn that's loads of my fave fish meat, salmon. 💗
Edit:. Really enjoyed your vlog Jake. Keep it comin'! Viewer all the way from the Pearl of the Orient Seas, the Philippines!🌸🇵🇭
Love Copper river sockeye!!
You should start scooping out the meat along the back bone .You will increase your meat harvest by at least a pound per fish. It really adds up and it's great for dishes like salmon alfredo .
I don’t leave more than a couple ounces of meat on a salmon carcass, but sometimes I’ll take and broil the back bone section off a king salmon and that’s really really good
15:46 why did you throw that bit away? (I don't know much about fishing)
The egg skein you could eat, but it would be eating connective tissue… not really appetizing
@@HowtoAlaska Ah okay. Thx :)
really liked this video. but why cut the tails?
you have to in this fishery. They make you do it so the fish are marked and cant be sold to a processor.
Kind of like panning for red gold.
I need to to get out gold panning now that you mention it
Good eating fish right there bon appétit
My friend Brandon lives up there
Fishing looks fun, but what a hassle of a spot having to tie off for safety!
We endure the worst to bring you the best
At least you didn’t bring the kids to chitna people I know do
You city people need to stay in the city 🤦♂️
Ignorant people need to not say anything.
@@Lonewolf_1776 ahhh are you upset that I have freedom of speech? You need to change your name.🤡
What about us makes you think we live in the city?
@@HowtoAlaska the lack of preparation and knowledge.
@@Alaskabuilt_ Do you fish the Copper?
