- Full Video available on our Patreon. / angelandzpodcast ; we follow AMUSE 126 as he paints Manhattan’s rooftops and streets. This video is the first of a series of videos we will be continuously uploading to our Patreon. AMUSE 126 is a graffiti writer native to the city of Chicago; a city that banned spray paint in 1992 and is known for its fierce buff. In 2010 he was caught painting trains and two months after that was busted for a drug charge. These two incidents helped AMUSE 126 see things from a clearer vision and since then he has been able to use his experiences of over 20 years in graffiti to his advantage, moving forward both physically and mentally in a way which has opened all of the doors for him and advanced his artistic practice. AMUSE 126 speaks deeply about the roots of Chicago graffiti history, his purpose for painting, racking, mental health, upbringing and more.
I don’t understand why he’s doing this with no face covering and a voice over of him talking about the times he’s been caught, he’s literally building a case for himself
Self snitching. 🚓🚓🚓
Basically
I was wondering the same thing! Kinda weird. 🤷♂️🤦♂️ I would imagine he knows what he's doing though
@@gychrill I’m not too sure, maybe he’s just stupid, he’s literally showing everything whilst painting
Who cares it's not like he's raping or murdering someone
I always find it fascinating how writers that are super active live adult lives. I started writing in the early 90's when I still lived with my parents. I hustled for money here and there but racking cans, being out bombing from 10pm to 6am, drawing, sketching, scoping spots, the lifestyle consumes your entire life. I've never understood how some of these dudes live as adults for years this way. Even going city to city, state to state. Its wild.
Same here. I wrote graffiti when I was about 12-17 in NYC. Haven't paid attention to it since then. Lately I came across a few UA-cam videos of guys from back in the day who are still going, they have to be in their late 40s to mid 50s. Guys like RD, Sen4, JA, LES, from NYC. I don't understand what kind of jobs they have and lives they live. I could just imagine telling my job I can't make it in because I got arrested for doing graffiti, as a middle aged man. Or what your family would think.
nice good well off families and his job is selling drugs
That surf gang throwup at 1:16 shoutout the whole surfgang
Surfs up!!
for real as fuk
Amuse!! What a legend!!
A legendary piece of shit
@@StationaryRocketFlipChampion tell me more... get it all out bro
I watch the art primo vid of him painting the Judkins Park every now and then, because its so disgustingly well executed. Never knew he faced so many legal battles, heavy burden but it comes with the territory.
He is one of those older writers who developed a very technical style where the spraycan is well balanced, him and Pose Msk.
And on the other side of the spectrum we have Sofles and Disto - my opinion.
Disto makes a living off art now many people dont continue doing graffiti heavy once they have a family under them. Dude is a legend in jersey and he still got more shit running from the early 2010s then 90 percent of people actively getting up today
@@ety7210 just to clarify, I meant on the technical execution aspect spetrum.
I can also write:
Amuse>disto
or that i favor amuse over distorsion. Nothing more
He does a fukn burner in that vid hey💯💯 mad colour scheme too!
Dug the vid. Always cool to hear another real writers story, or perspective on the whole thang. Stay up AMUSE 126 much props all the way from Oregon. Never been to Chicago but Its on my list of places to visit haha
Thanks for keeping the graff community lively
2:03 I love a good vertical tag
So clean
The only two words I keep repeating smh
Props to amuse! Awesome how he showed love to Nekst R.I.P
After watching this cat, I think we can classify graffiti as an addiction. This dude is an addict. I was a writer in Chicago in the 90s. Caught a lot of tags, throw ups, did stations, delivery trucks, street sh-t, and some train tunnels. Never did trains. TFO OTR. Was good at piecing but never did much illegal. I still get stiff when I smell spray paint. Shit is cocaine. If it was just a fine, I would do it today and I am well into middle age. Total addiction.
pretty much is just a fine in certain places
I can relate to this guy a lot with years of bullshit going thru legal shit and not giving a fuck but still being really cautious of not getting caught because the repercussions can last a lifetime. trust me you dont want a record. for anything, graffiti charges just look bad.
It's an addiction.. People who write just want to hit everything up.
Chicago 💪🙌
I had the opposite problem when I got cases here in Canada. Instead of not letting me travel, they banned me from my city as a bail condition. Not allowed any paint or markers while on bail or probation. Not even allowed to "browse websites associated with the graffiti subculture". I still related to his feelings of wanting to bomb so hard but knowing I couldn't get in any trouble at all or I was fucked. Very anxious times. Don't miss it.
real warrior
