Finally yesterday, after a year of on and off revisiting this lick, I could smoothly integrate it in a (medium tempo) groove! It has it all: control of accents and ghost notes, moving around the kit (and then control the ghost notes) and keeping the flow in a groove. It works in purple haze ;) and also combines nicely with the six stroke roll, para diddle diddle (or diddle para diddle, first diddle on hats) and even "Bonham triplets". Thank you Max! Now studying your "improve your groove" mini course.
The true sign of a great drumming teacher is his unbreakable willingness to contort his neck into all kinds of inhuman angles, to face the camera and address his audience properly. Legend.
Great playing, Max. Such a nice, simple little lick that when played up to speed sounds amazing. Wasn't expecting something so simple to turn into such a cool lick! Thanks, Max...
You're one of my biggest inspirations since i started playing with 14, seven years ago. I'm studying jazz now. Hope to see you live someday! Cool lick by the way.
Meinl Profile Dragon, either a china ride or ride. I used to have a 20”, sold it now I have a 18” china crash. They are pretty rare. Check guitar center used cymbals online

I didn't know Max's voice was as smooth as his playing damn, relaxing. haha

Great to have you back Max! You're a UA-cam drumming legend. You're like the godfather or something.
Thanks!
Great Lessing thank you!
I drop everything when UA-cam recommends a Max Salanone video. It's worth it every damn time 👌
Thx really appreciate it!
Man, you've always been a monster 😮 I love your newer stuff so much though! I would like to buy an album or three if you ever release some 🙏🎶
Your a good teacher. Imported is to slow back down again and learning the timing much better, than only practice speed.
I appreciate that!
Lesson Great

Sounds a little like one of Pierre van der Linden's fills on Focus' Hocus Pocus (fast version) I love it, Max!
That’s what I thought too! Pierre is one of my drumming heroes!
Nice! Glad I came across this.

Hey Max love your stuff... thank you
wow man... amazing lick and, above all, amazing playing.
