Thank you for replying! When you say hand work on the pistons with a dremel, do you mean you shaved down the piston heads for a lower compression ratio? Also with a double head gasket is it safe to assume its a 636cc or somewhere around there? Also what turbo are you using on it? 150hp on .6bar is a very healthy number. I love love love how its coming up in second. and how the boost is coming on right at about 9k. I have a 06 cbr 600rr and have been looking into a tubo build. Planning to bore it to 68.5 mm from 67 custom low comp piston/rod setup around 10:1 to end up with a 700cc turbo 600rr. I would love to see more pics and vids of this monster. any kills on it?
One more thing! I see she is running very rich under boost hitting 10.0 at times is this to keep it from knocking or does its just like being very rich under boost.
Yes for the pistons you got it and the scale was to count them all at the same weight after grinding, the double gasket i used it to lower more the compression and be able to raise the boost a little bit.The turbo is from Mitsubishi Evo 6,small turbo size to avoid lag due to only 600cc.I had a lot of issues with the turbos on bikes, only with turbos from Mitsubishi or Subaru or Garrett i found a working tune all the others that i used (most from cars cause it's cheaper) couldn't work nice. The bike goes 14000rpm and the cars about 8-9k rpm and i think this makes some turbos not able to work.So be carefull on what turbo you choose.About bore my opinion is (if you can afford it money)is not to oversize the pistons cause you leave very thin the block between the cylinders and with turbo application that you have higher tempratures you need as much space between and as much water for cooling as possible.4 good pistons for turbo application there are some good brands and 4 rods and a set of studs and nuts. Our bike's engine makes about 100 to 103hp on the wheel normal.I made 150 on 0,6 bar with stock normal engine,if you put the pistons-rods-studs you can go up to 1,6 to 1,8 boost and pass the 200hp.so no need for the extra 100cc.This is my opinion and i don't say its the right or the only one.Because from what you asked i magin that you get your hands dirty and that you know about the mechanics try to make the airbox by yourself, you find the in the market from 2,5k to 4k big waste of money just to say another builder name on.(and being billet)i made mine by taking the bottom of the original and with pieces of paper that stick together inside copied it took the paper out and unfold it straight,i bought 3mm thick alloy put the copied paper(pattern) cut the same desing, curve it,weld it and do the same with the top.Where they fit to each other i weld a 16mm width straight around the top and around the bottom so to put screws and rubber gasket between and be able to open it and work.It cost me 50euros for the alloy leaf cause i bought bigger to use it to other patterns too and 100euros for the welder and lot my hours. The 1st i made was same size the original airbox but after hours of sessions on the dyno i cut it and reduced its size lot of times to find the best and i came to a comclusion that it has to be much smaller than the original and bigger that the half of it (about 3/4 to little less).Hoped to help you,if there is anything that i can say about don't bother to ask.Wish the best for your project and when its ready sent me video.
yes you are right it is running very rich because my thought was that with the normal pistons turbo would burn them or vaporate them (hahaha)so with more fuel to keep the normal junk in less pain.Sorry if my english aren't the best but i think that you understand me.
Hello sir. Know it's been a minute since.you posted this but can you give me the info on where you got the turbo? Also, how many pounds you running? Any engine issues? Thank you!!!
The only issue between this and just getting a liter bike. Is that the turbo cost about as much as the bike itself. And adds more components that can potentially fail. Though it is pretty awesome, it's just not worth it when a new liter bike is pretty much the same price after everything is said and done.
i had no idea it was even possible to forced induction on a motorcycle i own a 2011 and i NEED this did you do any internal rework or is it all stock and are you running 10lbs??? or is that number up that something unrelated.
@@jaredmckinnon3620 If you can make out, the diesel engines have peak torque at RPMs less than that of a petrol engine. The reason for this has still been a debate, but mechanical engineers believe it occurs due to the high compression ratio. Hence, if we use the same transmission in both engines, the power to the wheels would be uneven and disproportionate as per the engine RPM and driving conditions. Hence we cannot couple the same manual transmission with both the engines. But, if the transmission is a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), then we can do that because the torque conversion is totally automatic and the wheels get the required torque every time despite the uneven engine RPMs. Here is a typical example of the transmissions used in Diesel and Petrol engines. The ratios of the Swift Diesel are as follows: 3.545, 1.904, 1.233, 0.911, 0.725 Final Drive Ratio is 3.94.
