    This video is pure acting like a victim. You interact with salesmen, you give them time and attention... Off course they will do their job all the way. If you don't want a product or service just walk away... That's common sense mate.

      Nonsense. You cannot just walk away. You are heckled, sometimes verbally intimidated, and I even had a group of youths demand money and square up to me. Just because you don’t like the truth doesn’t mean that it’s different

      I'm not sure that I agree, but thank you for the sentiment. They do seem like platitudes given my experiences that you'll see in the coming videos. Many of the people were hostile, and that's about the only unique aspect of Morocco versus the next country you could visit (and presumably not face a battle with culturally)

    • @nazlitechschool
      @nazlitechschool 4 місяці тому +11

      I completely disagree, Morocco has so much to offer, I have visited and lived there before as well as other countries and I am well aware of what I am saying in comparison to many others I know and watch videos on social media and other platforms who have visited the country. You need to open to explore the charm of the country and its friendly people, and maybe perhaps you will see what most mean.@@InvestedAdventure

    Seems like you came to Morocco with an agenda to criticize rather than understand. Yes, the culture and traditions are different, and that’s what makes it the most popular tourist destination in Africa. The energy, the people, the sellers-it’s all part of the experience. Instead of respecting this, you chose to stage interactions with the locals just for content, knowing full well that vendors will engage you if you start a conversation.
    Also, it’s unfair to portray the prices as too high. 15 bucks for a meal of great quality and quantity is actually a good deal. Just because it’s Africa doesn’t mean things should be free or dirt cheap. If you had truly wanted to understand Morocco, you’d have shown a more balanced view instead of using stereotypes for easy views.

      Went to Egypt 35 years ago in a small tour group. Always being harrassed by the locals. It was HORRIBLE. Yet, I'm the issue just like you, according to the locals. But in the West we don't like to be touched and harrassed all the time. Locals, and it's always the men, need to BACK OFF and leave people alone. The way you are being blamed is such the blame the victim. Disgusting how people on these comments are acting toward you. How dare they say you are the problem. THEY are the problem. Leave people ALONE! That's it man, LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE. If you can't do that then you really need to be locked up with a bunch of other people who loved to be bothered. The rest of us just want to travel and be left alone. Stop being disgusting - men - stop it. Leave tourists alone! And you, James, were so much nicer than I was. I never swore as much before or since being hassled by the damned locals.

    You're just looking to get views. Don't make a lot of comedy, remember that your main objective is content for your channel.
    You are in a country with its culture and traditions, you are in the most touristy place in Africa, you know what awaits you with the sellers, if you don't want to play the game, there are many restaurants excellent in the city center.
    You pass by them and you agree to start a conversation to have content to film so you have to wait for the salespeople to insist, there is competition and everyone tries to convince the customer.
    I am Moroccan and the same thing happens to me when I pass by, if I find a salesman too insistent or if I want to stop the conversation, I leave and it's over, I don't do cinema with the camera on. the hand.
    PS/ 15 bucks for what you ate, is very cheap ! Don't think Africa mean free. You ate a lot quantity of food, a great food !

    • @InvestedAdventure
      @InvestedAdventure  4 місяці тому +1

      "if I find a salesman too insistent or if I want to stop the conversation, I leave and it's over"
      >> That's never been my experience in Morocco. You are intimidated and in many cases 'gaslighted'. Treated almost as sub human on many occasions.
      "PS/ 15 bucks for what you ate, is very cheap ! Don't think Africa mean free. You ate a lot quantity of food, a great food !"
      >> In your opinion. Go and see Asia. Again, their pricing was exploitative - 22 USD, then 18, then 15... its made up to extort tourists. No way is your average worker affording a 15 USD. Its street food.
      "You're just looking to get views. Don't make a lot of comedy, remember that your main objective is content for your channel."
      >> I showed the truth and the narrative was one of pleasant surprise.
      "You are in a country with its culture and traditions, you are in the most touristy place in Africa, you know what awaits you with the sellers, if you don't want to play the game, there are many restaurants excellent in the city center."
      >> The restaurants were mostly the same, selling overpriced tourist menus. Lets not try and spin things for the tourist board. Moreover, the culture was pretty immoral and not at all welcoming to outsiders. And, the camera changed everything - people were suddenly more friendly when it was around (savvy).

    We wish you happy and safe journey in Morocco , now you should understand when you visit these specific type of places you will find raw random culture that some people respect could be positive and negative experience just like any place in the world , the real Morocco is I’ts nature not just the touristic places , the culture of negotiation and human interaction is limited probably in some western world cauntry , so you may find people more agressive because you are not used it , but your title is purely built on views attraction as it could provocative to some people , when you visit new country even if the experience is not up to your personal standards try make the best of it , good luck

    You're A LOT more likely to get pick pocketed in Europe than in Morocco. Of course you should exert caution, but not any more than you would in Europe.
    It looks like there's a glitch in the Matrix with the guys approaching you in the square. At least they're not being aggressive, which is a step up from before, hopefully they'll take the next step soon and stop bothering people altogether. I personally don't mind the hassle, I consider it part of the Jamaa El Fnaa experience, but then you have people from socially reserved places like Northern Europe who think they're being attacked and take it personally and then go on to leave the terrible reviews you might have read.

    • @InvestedAdventure
      @InvestedAdventure  4 місяці тому +1

      In many ways, I agree. It seems that the "worst" of society tends to find their way to Europe, with "less bad" people remaining in their home country. And hence, crime is more common in Europe than many of the countries I've visited. However, there's no denying that some countries are less "moral" than others, and poverty will tend to lead to desperation.
      However, to your point around the perception of the 'culture' of persistent soliciting and haggling, I (based on my experience of doing this in many countries around the world) found there to be a nasty edge in Morocco that I haven't otherwise encountered elsewhere.
      Just look at the guy's reaction at the place that I declined just before I settled on the restaurant that I eventually ate at.
      See my coming videos for more on that, and take care my friend

      Europe is worst on its own especially now without anyone finding their way to it. You tend to forget this "worst" you are labeling, came to work and offered a lot to build it to where it is now, but again people with your mindset forget easily but do not worry, the same people who worked hard for Europe to get it to where it is today will leave and then we will see the state it gets into. By the way, talk about the European companies that keep going to Africa, and Asia to invest to get money from to survive..... Be reasonable when commenting and reason with facts. And please, if the sellers keep insisting, don't give them hope that you will buy anything and just keep walking. I promise that this is not the case everywhere in Morocco. Also what you paid for your food was fair. Morocco is a beautiful country, you have to find the right places. I don't think the title is appropriate. It sounds disrespectful. I visited Morocco and didn't like it, it is a dirty country, trash is everywhere, the beaches are full of garbage and broken beer bottles and I find it expensive for the quality of services it offers. Morocco is definitely not a country worth visiting.

      Luck you found any beer there. Mint tea, diahorrea, and hostility in 40 degree heat. Lovely

      You're acting as if your country is any better .... Visiting one shitty beach doen't reflect the others being wonderful. And this comment being pinned explains a lot about this vlogger 's attentions...

      How am I overreacting? If anything, it ended up being a relatively positive video overall, when I expected it to be far worse. I went to show the truth, and I didn’t manipulate it when things turned out to be less bad than anticipated
