Later, she became the regular female vocalist on the popular 60's American live rock n roll TV show "Shindig" and she appeared in singing and acting roles in many iconic TV shows like Batman, The Monkees, Gomer Pyle, The Mothers-In-Law, Red Skelton, Milton Berle and various game shows. Yesterday's still here 2024
A lot of talent on that stage !!!!!
Talent Overload ALL at once❤❤❤
Boy do I wish our country was still having this mindset!!!
Seeing the righteous Brothers in this opening medley is phenomenal. And I just have to add that Bobby Hatfield was gorgeous. His voice was gorgeous and his look was gorgeous and he was a great dancer, the whole package, and yet he was humble and We had him for too short a time unfortunately. Rest in peace, Bobby.
Those opening medleys were phenomenal!
Wow, this is a treasure, much appreciated thanks for posting this fantastic video
A well written, well performed CLASSIC !!!
Righteous brothers are great
Love them Righteous Brothers, greatest duo of all time!
Wow, I have not seen so much talent at the same time.
WOW!!! What a marvelous opening! I was 14 when this aired and was still very much under the control of my parents - fundamentalist Christians who believed that ANYTHING entertaining was of the devil! I decided that wasn't true and later became a musician who played those styles! Later in the 1960s i caught some of the reruns of Shindig and it helped me get a good grip on popular music.
I love Tina Turner, she's the best!!!
Donna Loren had fine pipes.
She could use some better songs [ original material [] visit her in her website in FACEBOOK
Wish we had shows like this today, but then we would need TALENT like this!
what a great show I watched as a kid all acts American Bandstand, Halboog,Talent Party great shows of60s.
When you have the blossoms as the backing singers you are a star
Miss shindig😢
Wow! Matt Monro.
Check out his body of work, if you don't know.
Didn't know he was on Shindig.
Back when your artists actually could sing.
Wonderful! Really dig this channel and: RIP, Miss Tina Turner!
We never got this programme in England and had to make do with inferior stuff. How I envy you people in the US from the 60's! And Donna, what a star you were! I even enjoyed your appearance in Batman!
American show, privately owned, it's easy to understand they ain't diggin' to a command and control economy.
Gee, and I like Ready Steady Go and Top of the Pops, and want to see more of them.
If the BBC recorded it they would tape over it for the next show
Donna, you are still one of the most beautiful singers and your voice is incredible!
AMAZING TIME, SWEET MUSIC, SWEET GIRLS, SWEET WINE....
Que se puede comentar!
Sencillamente fabuloso
Es ENRIQUE FUENMAYOR locutor de Maracaibo Venezuela
Grew up watching Shindig every week. Why don't we have these shows now? Like American Bandstand , Soul Train?
Wow! Time Travel. I met Donna Loren once. Great singer.
I use to watch this with my parents when I was a little kid. Great memories
I liked those fifteen seconds from Tina Turner... 🙄
LOVE IT!!!!
Notice little boys and girls., no auto tune...
@drmorose This was an amazingly quick-paced show that packed a stunning amount of music into 30 minutes (or, for awhile, a full hour.) Those opening medleys were so well-done and so much fun to watch. The rest of the episode often gave you the feeling of having been on the world's fastest musical roller-coaster. I'm with drmorose- how on earth did ABC cancel this?!
This was co produced by Jack Good who had produced one of UKs best R n R shows of the 50s OH BOY! and if you compare both shows you can see the similarities and Goods influence(he also appears on Shindig as an eccentric Englishman) Auckland New Zealand 2022
Good description of this GREAT show. I am grateful for all of these audio/videos of the creative and diverse Righteous Brothers and Bobby Hatfield.
Shindig was cancelled for political reasons. ABC didn't like the racially mixed cast. Jack Good wouldn't have it, so he left.
Thanks Donna, for another trip down memory lane. I was often one of the teens in the studio audience.
OMG wonderful to see Matt Monro
Ha ha ha the girls with the lace on their heads like MINNIE’s mouse 😄😄😄 little jumps one, two three 😅😅
Bill and Bobby! ...❤❤❤❤❤❤
i was in love with the blonde to the right of sedaka
BOBBY whole package !! 💋
I love you singing Loving Me Baby after the Righteous Brothers Donna
Tina Turner backed up by the Blossoms with Darlene Love, I think.
Yes.
Loving this! Great job from everyone; Donna - you sound fantastic :-) :-) I enjoy watching/listening to Shindig! One of the best music shows ever on television.
Hey, Donna;
Only six years removed from becoming an Honorary Mouseketeer, you must have been only seventeen here, great job.
Jazz Drummer, Steve Gadd was also listed as an Honorary Mouseketeer, but can't find the episode.
Amazing talented group.
Wow what a find im recording this on to mp3 how rare would this be awsome i just came across donna im recording stuff from shindig brilliant thanks for posting
Now I know that was a baby at the time. Thanks for encouraging me to continue to learn to appreciate music again. :) Didn't think this show existed - now I know better and appreciate it and all its music. Thank you!
Fabulous !!!
Where did this video come from. L LOVE IT. . What talent.!!!. Could listen forever. Bring back more of these PLEASE. . Great music and shows back then. .😇🥰👏👏👏👏💝💝
que hermosa epoca, desde Argentina , julio 2021
I like the righteous Brothers version of she’s not there really really good
Horn section killing it too.
Amen. Rock da house!
Agreed. Actually thought their rendition was better than the original.
Their voices wasn't. Best suited 2 some of the stuff they did on shindig in my opinion
OMG now I KNOW I am getting old! I remember all of these songs!
Сильнейшие музыканты
That's Matt Monro @ 1:26
ncfeline1959 - & Chad & Jeremy
He was fantastic, and body of work is huge.
Hi Donna. Thanks for the upload. Any chance of an HD version (re-upload) since HD wasn't an option on UA-cam back in 2009? Subscribed. xx
Matt Monroe
Where's the Auto-Tune and fake sexiness? Oh, that's right...this show had actual TALENT on it, people who actually worked hard to develop their skills.
Matt monroe??
That would have been great if Dionne Warwick was the singer on the record.
Who are the girls with Neil Sedaka
I feel bad for Neil Sedaka having to follow Tina Turner. He may have had that same feeling Jagger had following James Brown on Tami show.
Although NEIL SEDAKA has been looked over by the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame"....IMO Neil Sedaka "is" the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
hatfield should prolly quit GRABBING her arm!
I like Matt Monro (no "e" at the end of his name), but, boy, does he seem out of place here!
Funny haw some of the featured artists on these shows never made it big on their own. like Donna Loren or Keith Allison and Steve Alaimo on Where the Action Is.
They had 45s
Steve Alaimo made it big thanks to Gregg Allman.
Keith is great still.
Why ABC yanked Hootenanny to make room for Shindig?
hOOT WAS A BORE
Um, they times- they were a-changin'.
Shindig was without question the BEST Rock and Roll show ever on TV...
Look at the production that went into this..
Midnight Special also had great acts...but no high-energy production...other than the band.
No way. British ‘Top of the Pops’.
Hullalaboo and Where the Action Is were main competitors, both were fun but without a doubt Shindig was king; its fast paced action, backup singers and musicians and overall choreography were top notch.
Was a hullabaloo and bandstand. Guy
Shindig lasted only a short time, much like Hullaballoo.
Can you buy Shindig! on Dvd? So you can watch complete episodes.
Anyway_ U_Want_It
only bootlegs. No quality official releases are available.
This was from a bootleg DVD from the Videobeat, as you can see, they found these from 4th generation VHS tapes, the whole series, so technically yes, but I wouldn't recommend wasting $255 on a crappy quality bootleg set.
Donna Loren started on The Mickey Mouse Club.
Shindig blocked out Mickey. Then Mickey got dropped by ABC. Music shows did not click with me. My flaw.
Love how Tina mopped the stage with the banal crooner that preceded her.
1:52 TINAAAAA
Other than the righteous brothers it’s obvious why this once great show had to be canceled.
Too bad the Rigteouses didn't know the lyrics.
Too bad you can't spell it 😂
Speaking of not knowing the lyrics.......
Neil Sadaka sure sounds gay.
almost turn it off when i saw a ad with crooked trump spreading his lies
judging by the screams...the kids did not care for the americans much at this point...british invasion is what was cool at that time
