Nice to see another piece of MF kit with a Chandlers sticker on it. We sold it in 1993 to a big local farm near Grantham, then in 1998 it went to another good customer of ours over near Skegness, they had it until 2014 when it came in against a Massey 7370 and your old 40 ended up being sold by Cheffins to a dealer (I think) around Cambridge area.
Father Phil says that after 30 years, it's still running like a dream.

You should've bought a Claas machine of a similar age. I really hope she performs for you but somehow I can't help but feel that the previous owners have had the best out of it. 🤞

It’s a Lincolnshire registration and quite a desirable one too! Probably owned by a large farm or farming estate.
She was only kicking and screaming not realising she's going to a good home, think she'll be good un, once father Phil has cast his eye round her. 👌👍

Good luck lads! Good combines we bought a 36 last year had a few issues but we got her up and running! Lovely to operate ! Cheap harvesting! I’m currently restoring a 1971 625 and she will be cutting this season 😉👍

Hi Liv Phil Father Phil and Family combines you had your headaches with combines good job Father Phil knows what he,s doing you mentioned a Class combine I,m 78 and I remember working with my Uncle on a tractor pulled combine the first Class ever made you had a platform on the side to stand on to bag the corn put the bags (2)on the chute trailer pulls up you could let the bags drop into trailer I was 7 or 8 at the time the good old days haha great vids Phil GOD bless

That machine was registered in Lincolnshire in August 1993. There's is a possibility that she was either bought new by the Rainthorpe Family or they had her for a period (Rainthorpe farms) Another farm belonging to the family Lancster in Ulceby Lincolnshire might be able to shed a bit more light. The Last V5 Logbook changeover happened in 21/07/2015. Presumably out of the UK or it was never updated.

Three was a 40rs at a farm sale the other week, was shown on George Saunders channel i think it sold for 8.5k no idea about its hours etc.

Not the best of starts but these things can happen and you got it home in the end, lets hope the weather is better than it currently is for yous. We were lucky that we cut the last of our winter barley on 13th July, has rained mostly every day since and not one stalk of straw baled yet.
