About 15 years ago, millennial liked my stuff. I decorate my tree & put it in the 3rd floor picture window; room dark. I use lights I had for decades, so they glow. One afternoon a young man came to fix something. The minute he saw the tree went nuts, he was shouting, "I have been trying to see which apartment it is, we look for it. He asked to bring friends that night. Why, not? They went nuts, so much fun. Now I am doing antique & retro in shades of pink, & some gold. I got pink & some violet lights & wrap the tree with lights. It makes me so happy to see ya'll loving these old pieces! I lost my Shiny Brites in the 1970's they broke. So I started collecting the original retro. No one, but no one collected them back then; people thought I was nuts. My kids always complain about my Christmas ornaments etc. I decorated Christmas trees for the Macy's store in the San Francisco. So I've done themed trees. No one, my age, liked them. They had aged into amazing colors & wear. They thought it was tacky; guess I love tacky.
That's so cool! I am actually in my 40s. I've been collecting Mid-Century treasures for over 30 years. My house is all thing Mid-Century...even my countertops have boomerangs. It's wild how popular these things have gotten. I used to be able to go in antique stores and buy things really cheap. Now that it is hip, the prices are through the roof! Thank you for sharing your story.
I grew up in the 50s. We only had one Christmas tree decorated with my parents ornaments from the 40s and 50s including several unsilvered ornaments along with Shiny Brite and European ornaments. I really enjoyed the tour of your all your trees and ornaments. TFS
Aw, thank you so much. My vintage decorations are some of my most prized possessions so it makes me so happy I can share them with others and they enjoy them too. Thank you for watching!!
There were a few left online last week! Don't forget to try that and sometimes you can find them for sale on Poshmark, Mercari or eBay! That ceramic lamp has a twin! I am going to rework the fiberglass lampshades soon because they need re-threading!
Your video randomly popped up and I happily watched. You have some real treasures and what a blessing to have so many things passed on to you. I also decorate mostly with mcm items, my favorite are angels! Hope Christmas 2022 is a good one for you and your family 🙂
Your aluminum tree is just gorgeous! The mix of vintage and new glass ornaments is perfect. What a fabulous way to remember and honor your relatives by displaying their treasured Christmas decor. Happy new year!
Thank you so much. I feel the same way. My house is filled with vintage treasures and heirlooms the same as my trees with a few modern pieces mixed in. Happy New Year to you too!!
@@SuperGeeked Hi Victoria. I am really glad that I found your channel. I have always liked the vintage themes They just have a whimsical feel, especially at Christmas time. I also think it is really sweet that you included your two boys. I can't wait to see what you come with next!
Thank you for the video! Your silver Al tree is gorgeous! I remember some of those ornaments and have found some like yours in my own stash of vintage-looking ornaments. I wish I could find a silver tree too. I wish they were remade for those of us wishing for more mid-century style. Your home is very lovely and well decorated. Thank you so much for sharing! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 😊❤🙏
Aw, you are so sweet. Thank you! I couldn't put out my tree this year because we have a beagle puppy and I didn't want to risk her getting into it. It's way too fragile and precious to me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
Your house is filled with warm family memories as well a new ones. I'm glad to see your adding more unforgettable family memories for your children to pass on to theirs. Have a Merry Christmas! 🎄

A great collection of vintage Christmas. I have a bunch of the knee hugger pixies. Since elf on the shelf came out everyone calls all of them elves. . Merry Christmas 🎅

I am so sorry. I can imagine that was so painful. Much of my collecting, both vintage Christmas and otherwise have been me hunting for pieces I was connected to in my childhood. For example my grandmother made us ice cream in these 1950s plastic bowls that had belonged to my grandmother. I have sought out collecting those because my grandmother got rid of hers before she knew I wanted them. Thank you so much for watching and best wishes! Victoria

I remember in the late '50s and early '60s, the two dominant colors seemed to be light turquois and dusty rose.
