Thanks for another great recipe. I make a lot of no-knead breads, but I wanted to step up my bread making game. You consistently offer fabulous suggestions. 😊
Sourdough& bread making can be do intimidating. This looks like I could pull this off my teen is the bread maker in our family. She loves it & everything she bakes is amazing. Can’t wait to wow her with this recipe.
I'm going to start this tonight!! I have the bowls and cutter too, never used them yet.. I hope mine turns out...I have the nice big Cuisinart pot too.....wish me luck!!!
I always make ordinary bread but have tried sourdough so many times with no success. I'm going to give this a go. Nice clear instructions so maybe it will work this time. Fingers crossed.
This looks delicious and EASY! I love sourdough, but it's a lot of trouble. But not this! Thank you so much for an easy sourdough recipe that looks wonderful!
hi Kaleb I love watching your videos… your instructions and demos are so easy to follow… I am sure this bread will turn out great for me. I was wondering, though do you have a rye bread version of this overnight bread?
I have no idea what he uses but I use King Arthur bread flour. It has a higher protein than most flours you find in the grocery store. It makes excellent bread and rolls.
Try combining whole grain with some bread flour if you want. You might not get as much rise because whole grain is heavier. It will still be delicious.
I love your recipes. I just find it hard that I cannot find anywhere where I can print them out so I can have them to refer to as I make them. can you please help me is there anywhere that I can print them from?
Do you have a cooking book @Wyse Guide? because I bought a cooking book of Prepping Kitchen. I wish you have a book as well so we can follow your recipes good. Your inspiring Public figure as well.
I’ve been wanting to try making sour dough but have been intimidated 😂 definitely am going to give this a try! I don’t have a stand mixer, would a hand mixer work?
This kind of bread doesn't necessarily require a stand mixer but I wouldn't try it with a hand mixer. Just combine with a wooden spoon and set it aside for the first rise. You will still have to do the stretch and fold steps for the first 1.5 hours. You will be fine!
Sorry, but this is NOT a "no-knead" bread. The dough hook did a lot of work and it's important to form the gluten. It's really not that "easy." Folks, good bread takes time. You will have to work the dough. It's okay to be messy. I always use a poolish to make bread. Most experienced bread makers do.
I think it is a great recipe even though it's not the traditional sour dough. It works for me even using the mixer to do the work. Sour dough is such a hit and miss and wasteful trying to learn the process with the discarding.
Gluten is strengthened in several ways. Kneading is just part of it. Stretch and fold is huge in this kind of bread as is the long slow rise. This dough can be brought together by vigorously stirring with a wooden spoon. That will start to develop the gluten. I use a poolish or a tang zhong depending on what I am doing. I do have a 20 year old starter so I have some experience.
Adding the ice cubes is a brilliant addition!
Definitely going to make this one! I've always wanted to do a sourdough but don't want to feed a starter for days.... Thank you 🥰
Now, this is a sourdough that I can do!
You can do a real sour dough too!!! Guaranteed!!! You just need a strong starter and a good set of directions to walk you through it!!!
That's what I was thinking! I'm going to give this recipe a whirl.
Going to try this. All your recipes are great. I just made the blueberry muffins🙂

Do you think you could add some rye flour to this???

Yummy 😋

@@virginiadaneke2362 Thank you so much for your response! I appreciate the advice and am looking forward to giving this bread a try :D
I agree, don't use a hand mixer. The stand mixer has a dough hook that a hand mixer doesn't have. You can just use your hands and a wooden spoon. 😊
@@pisicacutecat4869Thank you!
Update: I made this recipe today and it was a success! So good, thank you all for your advice and thank you Kaleb for the recipe!
What size dutch oven is needed?
Would this work with Oat flour?
Does it have to be baked in a dutch oven ?
The method and title seem different, would you call it a traditional poolish or sourdough bread recipe?
Curious size of Dutch oven ?
Yummmmm
I am unaware of how to find that link.
You can click on more right below the video.
Do you still get the benefits of sourdough with the poolish ?
If you mean health benefits then the answer is no. It will have a faint sourdough taste that you would get from an extremely young starter.
I MISSED YOU!!!!!
Nowt --I don't have to feel guilty about not wanting to bother with the hassle of creating sour dough starter.....(our secret!)
Had to😂😂😂😂 A mother that keeps going😂😂😂😂😂
Finally!!
❤😊
Where is Kip today?
Does this taste like SOUR dough?
How much flour? You didn’t say…
You can find the recipe in the description right below the video.
I hope your hand is alright!!!
