    I think the flower imprints right out of your cuttlebug would make beautiful cards. But oh my gracious! The cards using the flower imprints are wonderful! You are so creative!!

    I love this technique. I'm away from home right now visiting my brother for 2 months in northern New York. Usually, when I drive here from Florida, I bring my Cuttlebug and a supply of watercolor paper. His yard is full of Queen Anne's Lace and lots of wild flowers as well as English Walnut trees so I make a stack of "prints" and use them when I get back to Florida. I have a friend here who has a beautiful cultivated flower garden and she lets me pick her lavender, Russian Sage, and others for more colorful prints. Unfortunately, this year I flew to New York and wasn't able to bring my Cuttlebug ☹ or any other supplies. Now I'm tempted to try to find a used die cut machine up here and just leave it at my brother's so I'll have one to use. You've got me thinking!!!
    BTW, I love the yellow press with the gold oval. So cheerful!

    Two brilliant cards using the squished flowers backgrounds Chrissie...I have tried this with leaves but not with flowers. I love them both but for me the gold and yellow is just the winner because I do like the bright sunny yellow and the gold goes beautifully, and I love the added butterfly which is so pretty and shimmery with the added Nuvo Glitter Gloss, and the softer colours of the butterflies on the second work equally well with the gold. Looking forward to seeing you use more of these backgrounds. Sorry that your morning has been so frustrating and hope that the problems with the car charger are soon resolved. I hope you enjoyed your lunch with a nice drink too. x

    I love hearing the excitement in your voice when you're in the process of creating. And then from excited to cross (to put it nicely). My husband is a bit of a Luddite. Before he retired, he refused to use e-mail or any of the other modern advances. Personally, I think it made his job harder for him but he was proud of the fact that he didn't "do" e-mail. When he retired, I was still working fulltime and I made it clear that I wasn't going to be "doing" the e-mail and other modern stuff for him especially since he decided to get a smart phone. I would show him how to do it BUT I wasn't sending e-mails for him or any of that other stuff while I was working. He always wanted it done RIGHT now, too. A bit maddening really. Hope it all finally works out for you. I thought you were barely cross at all. The cards are delightfully gorgeous.

    Ah Chris, only a genteel English Woman would say politely that she was feeling 'cross' after days and days of frustration with technical stuff. I've been on a similar journey here, having changed my internet provider and modem in order to gain better speed. Arrgh! So from the promised 100 mbts per sec, I got 2.3! Phone call after phone call, and they fixed it Friday afternoon with the result that we had no internet at all for 3 days!!! I thought you were remarkably polite and restrained in the circumstances. Despite all your dismay, you gifted us with two exceptional cards.I adore the Gold one for is luminosity and the butterflies for their delicacy. Now I'm off to pick pansies to try your technique. Thank you so much my friend and apologies for the rant! 💛💛💛

      Our wretched charger still doesn’t want to do scheduled sessions, I think it’s something to do with the app on my phone, but it worked before the repair so I can’t see why it doesn’t work now! Just means that we can’t benefit from the cheap overnight electricity rate! Unless we go and plug in at midnight… I’m in my cot by then!🛌💤 sympathies for your technical issues, we’ve also had two power cuts within 3 days so more cause for irritation!😕
      Thanks for your really kind words about my cards ❤️❤️❤️

  • @amandalock9510
    @amandalock9510 25 днів тому +2

    Chris, I happened to watch a later video using your squished backgrounds first; and then watched this one a few days later. The intense yellows which you’ve squished onto the backgrounds just blew me away. So vibrant! And the card was a classy showstopper! I really wasn’t all that excited about the purples/blues, as the colours were faint and I couldn’t see how it would be successful as a card. Wow! Was I so very wrong. A masterpiece of delicate understated beauty. And the gold set both of them off so well. Thank you Chris!
    PS: I made some squished backgrounds using pansies and ferns with my old cuttlebug some years ago but never used them on cards because I couldn’t figure out what to do with them. Now I know!!! Wonder where I’ve stashed them? The pansies gave wonderful intense colour too.

    I’m not sure why Christine but my flowers are certainly not turning out like your back grounds. I just love your back grounds. I’m not sure if it is the type of flowers you are using. My best result was from the clematis after the flower had fallen off. I used yellow begonias, it was a mess, maybe too much water in the stem not sure. Maybe small wild flowers would work better not sure. I absolutely love this video and your back grounds.
