4:20 I'm surprised you know what effects those have on the video. If you choose preview however the render is even faster but you get slight choppiness. Will test out with best mode enabled. Thanks dude.
Yes, if there is less compression, your render time is shorter but your file size is larger. It's a trade off. I'd like to know if there are actual renderers that are faster.
@JustAlexHalford JustAlexHalford Please help me. I had a H.264 AVC mp4 video but after I import it in Vegas Pro 17, the video only has black and white color. But I played the video in media player the color is fine no problem at all. I already had so4compoundplug.dll and So4Reader.dll in my compoundplug folder. And I didn't use any filter. Please help me.
I wish you could explain a bit better what the difference is between the different encoding modes. Isn't NV nvidia? And that means that you're using the GPU? This is off course much faster than just using the CPU.
These are the encoders that let Vegas Pro render videos, the difference is how they encode. Normally the encoders use CPU power and they try to render videos in a very inefficient way. Starting from the Kepler-based GPUs the NVENC is available to choose. So older GPUs and other GPU brands should not have this option. This NVENC uses the GPU cores of your PC instead of CPU cores. The number of GPU cores could be a thousand times more than typical CPUs these days. Therefore, it can do the job without slowing your CPU down. Hence, the PC would run smoothly while the encoder is running. If you have an Intel-based CPU, then you would have another option to choose, and it would be called "Intel". The Intel encoder does the job in a more intelligent way so it is faster and more efficient than other CPU-based encoders. Speaking from more than a decade of experience working with Vegas Pro, I noticed that sometimes in very complex rendering pipelines - eg using too many effects and complex nested projects - one encoder could sometimes crash and you'd have to choose another encoder to render videos. That, however, rarely happened. Any Correction is appreciated if there is a false info here. Regards.
Hi Alex! Can I resize somehow the preferences window in sony vegas pro 17.0? Its just soo big I cant click the ok button its not even on my screen. Thanks if you help!
I have a question. While using the Mainconcept AVC encoder my CPU reaches temperatures between 80 and 90 degrees, while the NV encoder makes my CPU quickly and constantly fluctuate between 40 and 80. Which one is more hazardous to my parts' longevity? What should I change?
I followed the directions and in the Render window my CPU usage dropped from 90% to 55% thanks to the NV option. I have had renderings fail in the past due to CPU overheating.
what setting can i adjust on VP17 to see my video preview best. my 6 year old laptop and vegas pro 14 have smooth 30fs prevew. But VP16and17 I tried on my newer 4x faster computer cant play smooth preview at all. i have to click play 20x + to see a smooth preview. ive tried increasing ram usage for program ive tried making preview and proect low res to pick up speed. nothing is giving me smooth video display to do edditing and im stuck on VP14. any help guys?
JustAlexHalford My Render Times Didn't Change! I Have An i7, It Still Took Me 5 To 6 Hours To Render A Video Before And After. Is That Normal For An Hour Video? I'm New To UA-cam And Uploading So I'm Just Trying To Make Things More Efficient.
I'm on a laptop, it has an NVIDIA GPU, an MX230 to be specific, and after changing many settings i still could not get it to show NV Encoder but only Intel QSV, do laptops even support NV Encoder?
It didn't double my render speed, but it did increase it by about 25%. Not too bad. I'll be experimenting with the settings a bit more to see if I can find a way to increase that even more. Thanks for the tutorial!
hey alex. i am trying to render a video i put together with many 4K clips in it. i tried using the 2160p 60fps (nvenc) option to render and every time it freezes the render around 20%. if you have any idea ow to figure this problem out i would appreciate it.
Went from over an hour of rendering time to 20 minutes with these tips. Thanks!
*_Thank you for the tutorial. I didn’t really want my PC to lag so bad._*
Why don’t I have the NV encoder option?
Thanks mate, these settings somewhat worked for me, from 1 hour and 30 mins to around 50 mins. Cheers!
Glad it helped
Imagine after long wait rendering the video and the render crashed at 99%.
@@emoman37 I feel bad for you
that happened after an overnight render i was so mad xD
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
it happened every other month on my old laptop with windows 7.I hated it!!!
That happened to me like 10 mins ago
My render was so slow before and it’s ZOOMING now thank you
NV encoder is ONLY available if you have an Nvidia graphics card!
If you use an AMD graphics card, its will show as AMD encoder
i do have nvidia graphics cards but still in not showing that option
Which AMD GPU are you using ?
@@junaidiqbal1624 Gigabyte RX570 8Gb 👍
i only have an intel so IDK about that
it wont for me which means my nividia gpu ver isnt supported
Thanks alot dude 1 hour video to render from 4 hours to 50 minutes and the quality of the video is still amazing thanks it worked for me!
What do I do when I only see Mainconcept AVC and Intel Qsv instead of NV encoder?
Frames are going lots faster when rendering, so fingers crossed 🤞
U are the best Alex. It not only mades my render 3x faster, it also made my upload 6x faster.
Thank u so much.
From a 150 hour cinematic to a 4 hour thank you so much!
nearly 7 and a half days wtf
went from 2 minutes to 20 seconds what tysm my guy
a few years later and although the difference was negligible, rendering was slower for me. fun experiment though, thank you
BRUH my render time for one of my vidoes went from 8-9 hours to 1 hour and 30 min
Bro Thank you so much!!!!
And qualityy??🤙😂
you teach and you say It's all up to you guys. thanks for wasting my time.
I didnt have a mv encider on mine, i had the main and intel qsv and even when i clicked that the preset stayed gray
NV Encoder only works on modern turing based nvidia gpus

Worked for me 👍 Last time i waited few hours
I use Filmora and it lags so much..... I bought a lifetime access but maybe I should use other software. Thinking about Vega. 🤔
lol.but why. Filmora is good app too. try to find best setting for your laptop and get along with it. but if u wnna go to vegas. its all up to you
IKR IT'S REALLY ANNOYING. I SWITCHED TO SONY VEGAS PRO AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH 💛
Thanks Alex, first it took 30-40 min but now it takes 15-20 min.
WOW! HUGE difference!! Seriously, I am really surprised, but it works great. Thanks so much.
U r great brother.... I watch ur all tutorial ..... brilliant brilliant.... tutorial..... brother.....

Will surely try these settings out on my next video. Hopefully it works out! Although I'm only using a laptop..🤞✌
same here sir

thats cap unless u rendered two completely different things

Great video, it seems like it cuts the render time by 50% so whatever time the video is by half. Very nice!
when i make 25fps red zone videos it just looks like 60fps so I'll just customize it's fps

Hello, Alex! Instead of "NV Encoder", I have "Intel QSV." What do I do?
You chose Intel QSV because you do not have a Nvidia graphic card.
Im way to back with my technology for Any fast render , bro 👍

Hello, what is your recommendation for a new PC build for VEGAS Pro 17 (I currently do not plan to upgrade to newer version of the software)?
Will that work on laptop?

congratulations!
Hi Alex.. i m your fan.
I've already done what you've said but even when I choose NV encoder, it still used my cpu instead of my rtx 2060
instead of nv encoder it showed intel qsv and i couldnt change the presets they were still greyed out
Do you have any transition packs that you can recommend to me?
THANK YOUU
When i changed the encode mode it just gave me an error
can you help me, my render is like 12 hours is there any other tips?
Too look my rendering do resolving tho thxx so much have a sub

@Pasam Naga laxmi I was online lol
Thank you for the tips and tutorial brother
actually made mine twice as long
Why It always stop at around 56% when rendering my vid and when the remaining time hits 0 secs the elapsed time still keeps going
it's because of hardware acceleration, you should go to your vegas options and set your graphics card acceleration to none
Thx
Went from 13 mins to 3:45 thanks
waiting for 13 mins isn't hard but waiting for 2 and a half hour is way harder
What actually means CBR?
tried it, i did cut my rendering time but made my 1hr vid out of sync from its audio. tho, i use and AMD as my graphics card
i have the same issue 😢
