he is so humble, funny, and generous. its so amazing that a celebrity is so caring. its a "new" sight to see since i was born into the people bein famous for just bein famous. Ilive this band!!!!!!!!
It's kind of a shame because he honestly seems like he doesn't want to be there. I've been a fan of this man since the beginning of my working memory (I'm 31). Over the past 25 years I've seen hundreds and hundreds of videos/interviews with him and believe me, I do agree he is a humble, genuine guy. BUT... sometimes he just has such an attitude with people and it really bugs me. I don't expect him to put on a fake act to look overly happy and energetic - I get that he's tired, he's on the road, he's away from home 24/7 - but so is EVERYONE who works in the entertainment business, and I have seen others be way more gracious to their fans during Q&A sessions. I think the root of it is he personally is just so turned off by idolatry and the occasional superficiality of peoples' devotion to them (eg. liking/mentioning only the big 80s hits, telling him he's sexiest man alive, assuming he lives a "rockstar" life), and in order to emphasize his humility he takes on this unfazed, "rolls his eyes at the slightest adulations" demeanor. When I was younger I would have said "oh, he's just being humble," but as an adult I just see it as kinda rude and off-putting. It's great the proceeds from this are going to his charity organization and he's making the appearance for the cause, but jeez Jon... can't you get off the attitude a little? A lady tells you she was battling cancer and didn't think she'd live to see you in concert but here she is, paid good money to come see you and gives you a gift... but you just give her a stiff hug and barely react to her story? tl;dr I wish he would try a little harder to be gracious than to look humble. It's okay to show people you're happy making them happy JBJ... we KNOW you're a humble, homegrown kind of guy.
