This song touched me in so many ways, tonight. I'm taking care of my 82 year old mother, and she is very ill. I'm where I"m suppose to be, but where are my so called "friends"? Out talking crap about me cause I won't leave my mom for a couple of hours, and tell her to stay on the couch while I go out. Really? I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be, thank you very much, Bon Jovi for putting into words what I truly feel. The world is a better place because of the feeling and emotions behind this song. That's why, don't say you're not perfect if you made mistake bcoz mistake makes you perfect.
Songs like these have so much meaning for me. I suffer with anxiety and depression and so people think I'm strange. All my life I always felt like the outcast because almost everyone my age knew a lot better and I never understood why I struggled to put sentences together until recently my mom told me I have PDD. As a small child, I had to go through speech therapy because of language delays, I couldn't communicate well, i would have fits and tantrums, etc. A lot of other kids would get pissed at me because I didn't want to play with them or I couldn't talk well. Even to this day, I'm still trying to learn the things I didn't understand well, but now as an adult, I can appreciate the fact the everybody is different and I don't have to feel ashamed of who I am. Thank you Bon Jovi for your songs for they inspired me to stay strong and love who I am.

I fully agree with that! I feel that it was misunderstood (er, no pun intended there) and deserves more love. This is among the best off the album and among the best lyrically from them period, in my opinion.
It was one of my favorites, next to Slippery when Wet, the Young guns II soundtrack (favorite movie ever) and Bounce
It was my first hard rock album I fell in love with. It was released when I was 10 years old and listened to the title track on the radio. I bought the album listened to it multiple times a day for months! Than my family and me moved to another city and I couldn't find the CD and I was really sad about it. It was a time before Spotify and Apple Music and I walked in every record store in my new hometown and I couldn't find the CD. I was really sad about it, but the years passed and I forgot about this CD.
Now I'm 25 years old and I've been visiting my parents a few days ago and I helped my father to clean up the garage. And I found the CD in a box full of old dishes. I don't know how the hell it ended up there. But M heart stopped for a moment and I couldn't believe it. I wasn't even thinking about that album for more than a decade!
And now I'm listening to it again. It's like a journey back to my childhood. And I fucking love it.

I just love Bon Jovi, it's my favorite band ever. They just have so many great songs, you think you've heard everything and than you find out about other songs. I discovered this song about a week ago for example, and I've been listening to Bon Jovi for about a year and a half. Basically, I don't know any other bands who has so many great hits, and I really like Jon and he has a great voice and he is a great singer. I don't know why many people don't like this band.

+Itay Abelman I'll tell you why. Bon Jovi once was a Hard Rock band, my only favorite band since 1987. Tracks like Hey God, Wanted Dead or Alive, Livin On A Prayer were #1s for months and years. Now they've better tracks but the Hard Rock/Metal flavor is gone. It's all Pop-rock and country now. Currently I'm residing in Shanghai and will go to see them live on Sep 14th hoping they'll kick some ass with those old tracks I love.

I have loved Bon Jovi for decades now and their music has gotten me through some tough times. I am being treated for now for a fourth type of cancer since 2010 and have listened to Bon Jovi through all of my recoveries from surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments. Love the positive messages in their songs, the music is great, Jon's voice and the way Richie's voice combines with it is simply magic. This old lady will love Bon Jovi until the day I die, hopefully a long time in the future.
