Fred the Tree grows in the middle of a roadway on the Old Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys. Fred is exposed to hurricanes, salt water, fierce winds and rain but defies all odds and flourishes with no visible means to survive. He is a true symbol of hope, love and never giving up. If you are driving in the Florida Keys, be sure and give Fred a wave as you pass by. Have you ever seen Fred the Tree?

About Me:
I am Howard Livingston, a Singer/Songwriter who did what many nine-to-five workers dream of doing: I gave up the workaday world, moved to the Florida Keys, and became a musician. I live with my wife and dog on this beautiful Island Paradise. I will share our slow-paced lifestyle and adventures along with my original music on this channel.
I was born in Kentucky and raised in Marion, IN. I learned the guitar in my youth and played in a band as a teenager. I moved to Chicago, studied engineering, and launched a business manufacturing parts for diesel engines. Then one day I sold my stuff, kept the dog and moved to the tiny island of Summerland Key, located 24 miles north of Key West and never looked back. I started pursuing my passion of music and formed the Mile Marker 24 Band.
