My Bombay, Bean, is now 20 years old and still as affectionate and talkative as ever! He was my best friend’s cat, but she passed away a few years ago, so he’s all I have left of her. He’s definitely one of the coolest cats I’ve ever had, and he makes a lasting impression on everyone he meets. The chillest cat ever.

I think the idea of declawing a cat is something most people in the world wouldn't even come about. Unless they find joy in torturing animals, of course. I heard about this first time in TV ("Cat out of Hell").

My Bombay cat was dumped in my neighborhood as a kitten. The area was overrun with rats when a nearby date grove was removed. I was at wits end trying to eradicated them when a visitor said to me "you should have seen that little black cat! It just ran down and killed a rat about as big as Itself!"
It took me a while to win her over enough to enter my house as she was aware of my Boxer and my Pug . But, she began anticipating being fed and petted and finally followed me inside. She has been a Godsend.
The rats are gone. She follows me around and I have even had her join the dogs and sleep with me. She's awesome and I adore her...something nobody ever expected me to say about a CAT!

It is a bombay cat if you get the pedigree from the breeder stating it is one, completely with the names and breeds of its parents, grandparents and so on, at least 5 generations back. Same with all other breeds of all kinds of animals.

My bombay loves the outdoors in my rural area. He is an excellent mouser and brings me his finds. He loves to use my feet when I am sitting as his pillow. He is very active and since I have the rule, that he must be inside overnight he loves running up and down the stairs at night, so I hear the thump thump of his running feet on the stairs going up and down at night.

I had a Bombay cat named Nexxie. he was the first cat I ever got. we had him for years, until one day where he was acting strange. we wanted to take him to the vet but it was Christmastime meaning the vet was closed so we had to wait until the day after Christmas. sadly, he didn't make it in time. my mom found him laying completely still in bed, so my parents wrapped him up in a blanket and buried him in the backyard. I miss him everyday. R.I.P Nexxie 2006-2021

a bombay cat arrived at my back door 2 weeks ago, now he comes everyday sometimes twice and he is the most affectionate cat ever, 2 days ago he fell asleep in my lap for 20 minutes and started snoring. I have been giving him good quality wet food and meat, this cat eats everything and is incredibly hungry, sometimes requiring the same amount of food again later in the evening/night. Today i played with him for nearly an hour with a toy mouse, he jumped so high and after a while decided to rest under the table and watch the birds in the garden. Then my original stray cat came and he got so protective of me, he came over to me and started hissing at the other cat, they were in the garden screaming like babies being murdered then they walked away in the same direction 🤣

@The Street LogBook I don't think it was a street cat like you see on videos on youtube, he was still young and he was in very good condition and my theory is he was abandoned because of how much food he eats, he usually eats 5 pouches of wet food every day. Since December he has grown in length, i know bombay cats can gain weight but he hasn't because he is active, he still likes going out for a few hours. Last week be brought a friend over and i fed both, his friend is a neighbours cat so i think he is settling into the neighbourhood, he's definitely settled into the house, sometimes he wants to stay in my room more than eat food haha

    • @ColinsCity
      @ColinsCity Рік тому +2

@The Street LogBook OMG that's terrible, they are so friendly and loving, i really hope he hasn't been abused. Can you try and feed him? buy a bag of dreamies treats or whiskas treats, they are portable and cats love them a lot, if you can feed these to the cat then maybe it will trust you and you can try to bring him home to you. I'm new to owning a cat too but i did have to deal with a few of his injuries because of a bully cat in the neighbourhood, i bought Vetericyn for his wound and it healed within a week while using it. If you can get the cat to trust you and come home then you probably should bring it to the vet. The cat is maybe depressed, it may have been abandoned and has lost hope.

Also had a almost baby jump out of bushes walking down thebstreet and miow at me to make friens started following but a bird swooped him and he ran for the bushed again i probably should have at least asked or knocked on the door or somthing in heindsight

Is a Bombay cat a pedigree ??as these cats remind me so much of my new kitten .well soon to b 1 year old.Hes been chipped chopped and all of he's injections..So he's healthy ..I just feel sad when I leave him as he seems incredibly stressed when I get home after work.Hes really really hard work to get excited to even play sometimes ,,he gets bored and walks away...I saved this cats life as it was given to me far too young let's just say I had to go out and buy kitten formula and fed him from a baby bottle ...😊He looked like a fluffy little monkey so amazing n happy he seemed to b eating everything in sight was brave n acted like he'd known me for years lol.. .Then one Evening it was a Birthday Meal at my house My cat Marmite, went sniffed everyone n the usual. Then a couple of females at my dinner I'd like to call them ladies but not when it scares animals ..There was an argument at the dinner table.I saw marmite was not happy ,,then they started fighting so all I could do to protect my baby was lock him in my bedroom....This didn't last long B4 My male friends stopped it and I asked them to leave ..Marmite changed from that day 😢n I wish that I could talk to him n explain I'm so sad that he had to go through that ..If anyone has gone through similar or an incident has changed there cat please let me no..He's very picky with food biscuits ..I worry. That I'm not good enough for him.. He's got lots of toys ..He plays me up all night n day .He has this thing at the moment for getting me up n down to let him out on the balcony but I have to watch him otherwise he's jumped B4 2stories n I worry about the road but just seems like he should go out ..I'm frightened because he's my best friend and I don't want him to get ran over .....it's so hard ...good luck everyone I wish everyone the best with there pets..if I could crack the needyness at night every 2 hours he wakes me..So please if you can help please do...

He stays inside and sleeps from 6am till I get home at 4:30pm, then he lingers and at 8pm he's gone. He gets anxious if I don't let him out. I rather him out at night though, it's safer. Plus where I live there is hardly any traffic. I love him so much.

Ours was a rescue who was let outside as a kitten so no way can we make it an indoor cat now. Our compromise is we let him out for 3-4 hours in the morning and make sure he checks in. It's a good compromise and I feel he would get depressed without a little outdoor time. He never goes out at night, we have coyotes around. He's 10, hearty and I'm hoping he becomes more indoorsey with age.

I don’t even need a litter box as I don’t know where he goes……….but he is the most glorious cat. He’s as smart as a whip, incredibly affectionate and manipulates us completely. I had a black stray cat have 5 kittens in my hall closet. 4 voids and one tuxedo. The father was a local stray everyone knew but he didn't belong to anyone. He was a HUGE fluffy black cat. I came across this video and WOW! My all black cats look just like these in the video and my two fluffy ones of the litter look like the ones in this video! They are the most affectionate and playful cats I have ever had. I always wanted black cats but didn't want or think I could have cats in my small apart but the universe thought otherwise! I had 5 and the mom and it was the greatest! I ended up keeping 2 voids and the tuxedo, one fluffy boy was adopted to a family member and another all black non fluffy male was adopted out to a friend, then my neighbor adopted the mom. The dad was a local stray everyone took care of so he didn't need a home.. They all have the same chill and playful personality. My two voids, one female who looks like her mom and then my male who is a fluff ball like his dad both play fetch like a dog. They are the smartest cats I have ever had. My male is super affectionate and is definitely a momma's boy. They do not go outside as I dont live in a place where it would be safe for them. They have a huge porch though they sit on daily and have so many toys to play with. They are definitely spoiled and loved.

@chelsea7755 cmmmmmmmm where 2 start........ the top of course......
Im not contributing to a problem I saved a tinny little kitten from certain death on the side of a state highway in a cold raining November night and everything she kills she eats unless I catch it inside the house then I release it back outside
vehicles is the vary LAST thing I worry about killing her as my front yard is the Shenandoah River and my back yard is the Appalachian Trail,,,,,,, we have Bear, Coyote, Wolves, Coy-Wolves, Fox and the like all over the place and she has in the neighborhood of a thousand acres to roam around on so she stays away from the road I promise you that
YES I do liver her very much but [A] she's a Cat and [B] she's a Cat so when you cage yourself up inside your house for the rest of your life I will consider keeping her inside completely away from her natural environment and unhappy until she dies..... I let her live her natural life with a few added bonuses like a safe haven to escape harm and rest her pretty little head when SHE want to and a human that loves her and keeps her as safe as humanly possible without locking her up as stated above....
I let her outside and she does what comes natural to her,,,,,, sleep, hunt, eat, repeat!!!!!!! Yes I helped raise her in the creek and the woods and she took to it immediately as natural as can be..... She was 70+ feet up in the trees when she was a baby there is no way possible to keep such a natures creature locked up like a prisoner allowed to look outside but never go outside......... I know how that story ends as that's how I got my previous Cat Frick from my neighbor who locked his cats inside the house until his GF finally convinced him to allow them outside and they never ever went back to his house again....... Frack became the neighborhood Tomcat and Frick adopted me and Jennifer and moved in with us after seeing that he was allowed to come and go as HE wanted not as some human dictated to him..... And when we moved out to the country he was SO very happy to live his life as a free Cat!!!!!!!!
So you can go ahead and be Hitler to your animals if you want,,,,,, I choose to love mine thank you very much

@chelsea7755 I'm grateful for the mice, voles, and rats that my cat hunts in my suburban neighborhood. The crazy level of development has recently routed the predators that did the job. Now people are laying poison everywhere which is NOT great for the owls that are left. A well-fed cat is NOT (usually) the problem in suburbia. The feral populations are skillfully managed by the catch-neuter-and-release programs (which include regular food drops too).
I believe the messaging can be much more nuanced than it is. The common message is to blame CATS for drops in the bird population. Demonizing outdoor cats won't save the birds from urban development and FROM OTHER BIRDS! Cats are the least of their problems.

    • @BirdaeBlue

I know a lot of people want to please their cat by letting them outdoors, but I think it's very important to count the possible costs. My Bombay has escaped a few times and while I feel bad for him, I strive to make his indoor life the absolute best and he is generally very happy. Count the cost: illness, FLEAS! (I refuse to put a chemical laden flea collar on a cat) wild animals, and possible theft of your black beauty. Outdoors= Vet Bills too at some point. My Mr Mooney was a rescue and 6 months old when I got him. He was used to going outside. But it didn't take long for him to choose me as his Number One. It didn't take long to get him used to the idea that we don't do outdoors here. Sure, he'd like to run outside if I left the door open, but he's not depressed or sad, he's thriving! They can be trained, especially when they love you like crazy ❤ they don't always like your decision but they respect and trust you. They're similar to children in those respects (I have 2 grown kids and one at home) ...I wouldn't send my young children out into potential dangers and I won't send my fur babies out either. Thanks for these beautiful videos showcasing the wonderful 'Bombaby' cat.

This video should be renamed "6 things you must never do with a cat" except for the first one. Outside is dangerous, yes, but many cats, independently of their race, are happier outside and Bombay cats have such a thick undercoat that the rain doesn't even bother them.

Got adopted by a Bombay cat just over the weekend. Female just over being a kitten and not quite an adult, she was at the top of the stairs,, meowing at me, thought she was feral at first, and wanted to get by me, got out of the way, she was waiting for me to sit down on a step so she could show her affectionate side. Brought in in my apt. And let her get used to the place. All was good. Went out a few hours later to get my mail, and liw and behold came across a bombay cat looking exactly like her. It meowed and showed the same characteristics so I said hey kitty how'd you get out. Turned out it was another Bombay cat the same same size and age, it was a male this time. Brought him in to meet the other Bombay cat, i no hissing or any fighting. Just acted like they already knew each other, think they both were from the same litter and just abandon. They knew how much of sucker I was and haven't regretted having them since.

My cat does go out, but stays on front porch to watch sunset or maybe sun bathe in backyard. He prefers to stay in the house - especially at night and snuggled up to one of his humans. For 3 years he never went near or out the dog door, and one day he did. However, he isn’t like most cats and goes out exploring. He also comes when you call his name. And when I was training dog to do sit or to turn on command, I realized he was doing it (wanted the freeze dried treats was giving the dog), so he will sit on command. Trips people out.

"Don't let your cat outside" is good advice for anyone who wants their cat to stay alive. Around here, we have hawks, owls, coyotes, fisher cats, and cars as prime dangers. Also, I've come to agree that dry food is not good for them...

I just got my first Bombay and have to agree with most everything stated about them. She is as sweet and friendly and playful as can possibly be! So, I'm enjoying watching these videos on them? I'm just a bit confused though? In your video you say, "not to let your Bombay kitties go outside and yet, "your video shows a few shots of Bombay's OUTSIDE"? And as you put it, they are "natural animals"!! I'd love it, if I could let her out in my yard in the daytime and back inside at night? Any thoughts on that? She has lived inside my house for about 2 months now, and she's only about 4-5 months old!!

My first Bombay cat wasn't even my own
She was an outdoor cat that found me while sitting at my firepit in my backyard in 2018 around midnight, so I named her Midnight
She was with me through the 2020 quarantine and beyond. I have no idea who her owner because sometimes she'd have a collar or even a flea collar, and would smell like shampoo or cigarette smoke.
But I fed her, groomed her and let her sleep inside on cold nights. And she'd meow outside my bedroom window when she wanted inside.

The reason cats are not let outside is to protect birds and wildlife as they are serial killers
But for the cat itself- it’s meant to be outside. 90% of cats thrive outside. It’s just the outside that doesn’t thrive with them 😊

Now the Bombay kitten and this little baby. I had to go to the hospital. She wouldn't come back inside the whole time. I was gone. She waited for me outside. And you wanna know what happened to her? She's got a bunch of white hairs on the back of her head and the back of her neck because I was gone. This is not a joke. You cannot leave these cats alone. You have to be with them all the time. So if you're older and you're sick, you don't want to bomb bagels, really don't because like what I just went through with my poor little baby. She was devastated when I was gone
