  • Hey guys welcome back to the channel as always! Today we take a look at my Yamaha's top end and I explain why your cylinder has been damaged. Spoiler alert it's because your not warming the bike up enough. These are cheap two stories motors that need time to warm up because otherwise it will do alot of damage inside the motor.
If you guys enjoyed the video it would be great if you could comment like and subscribe!
    Thank you all for watching

I really really appreciate those kids who get out of there room and get familiar with these thing and do something different.... Rather then getting locked up in room and eating junk and play fornite

Your not wrong at all I totally agree. Most of the kids I know in grade 8 have no mechanical knowledge and you really need that when you get older so you don’t get scammed and you can do things yourself for 100’s of dollars cheaper.

Thanks man I’m glad you like the videos and when I was starting out 3 years ago I had no clue what I was doing. But from real experiences and watching UA-cam videos on how to repair my bikes I wanted to share that information to other people. Hence why I have this UA-cam channel.

The other day I was omw home from work when bike started acting fu NY. Evry so often it would kinda jerk like I was grabbing the brake for a split second and then letting go. Eventually it started making a racket and they whack it stopped. I could then rock it back and forth and it would free up. Meanwhile I got caught in a rain storm so while waiting I took the head off which looked fine, but piston had some pitting near a transfer port and a good nick in the tranfer port itself. And when I slid cyclender up alittle there was the dreaded silvery residue with little metal flakes. I'm almost certain what you were talking about with the piston expanding faster is exactly what happened. Not letting g it warm up enough first.

this unfortunately happens to often with these bikes the piston Expands to fast and your motor can even cold seize which is way worse and causes immediate piston damage. wear on iron cylinders are a big pain. I ran 32:1 very rich mixture and took it easy for the first three tanks. I cleaned the cylinder out and ported it to get rid of any metal flakes and rough edges. Even then my Harley still has two very tiny score marks and I followed every step to breaking it in. Sometimes it’s not your fault it’s plainly the motor.

@@keeganhache6667 for the forest 500km I ran the ridiculous 16:1 the manual said. And took it easy but the one thing I did not do was take the engine apart and check for things. By the time I started watching videos I already had the bike together so being lazy I never took it apart to check for loose burrs or incorrect pins. Must say all that was intimidating at first but now I go a few months under my belt I understand the importance. Lucky for me I have another engine to throw on my bike while I check the busted one. Hoping I can take cylinder off and shake whatever feel down in there out. I don't think I'm skilled enough to split the case just yet. But I guess what better way to learn than a broke engine you not scared on breaking. I like to ride but a mechanic I am not.

Recently ported my cylinder just a tad bit, I have vertical score marks on my piston and the cylinder, I’m guessing when I ported I left some metal sticking out from the intake and exhaust however I opened it to check an my fingernail doesn’t seem to catch on anything from the holes

I have scoring marks on my head gasket, and no matter how hard I turn the head bolts, it doesn't seem to fully squish the head gasket to the engine block. It's a metal gasket, but I feel like it may be the issue. I just replaced the wiring on my bike, but if that doesn't fix it, idk what will

It’s a good pipe for a bike that you just want a bit more low end power to climb up hills. It’s no Mz65 but it will look nice on builds like mine because it doesn’t cover the panels like my dirt bike style pipes do. It can be routed down below like I have it in the video but also down and up the seat stay like I have on my indien road-master bike. Way better than those cheap banana pipes.

It’s not that hard to do and you can always check of your cylinder lining is chipping off. Most other bike channels recommend that.

Wow man that’s very unfortunate but your bottom end must have had a lot of metal in it from the factory and you need to flush them out with gas so they don’t end up in the top end. Also prepping your rings can help. Sand the edges of them with 320 grit sand paper.

It’s the rated Hp for the motor. A lot of people go by the rated Hp and the iron bore advertisers that it makes 3hp but in reality it’s 2.

If it’s a brand new motor than you must have not been taking it easy for breaking it in.
When breaking in a motor you need to keep it under 1/2 throttle and run 32:1 so the cylinder can be well oiled.
