Wow. This horse and rider are amazing. The difficult turns that had to be executed in the mulitple effort jumps were phenomenal! That horse was willing to do the craziest jumps with this rider. Very well done.
These two did great! I liked that it showed the WHOLE course not just parts! This pair makes me want to do cross country even more than I already did! :)
woooow that was some of the best riding ive seen !!!!... i love eventing and thats what i do primaraly, and these girls are good!! i lvoe how theyd pat their horses after some of the jumps and let them know how good they are being!!
great horsemanship, this rider knows when the horse saved her butt and she gives him an extra pat for it! As for the breed question, id almost guess an anglo or full TB. Im very amazed at the athelticism of the horse, like at 1:20 where it trips right before the jump yet manages to snap its legs up and clear the jump beautifully! Not many horses can do that at that height! Even looks like it trips in the water right before coming out.
If a single fence is involved in 2 courses - that is, used for a prelim course as well as a one star, most times a different color will be used to designate the one star. Since there is no advanced at this show, they possibly used the blue cards to distinguish the prelim numbers from the one star numbers.
Dapple is the coloration, and you're correct. As for the breed, I don't know, but the horse is well back on her haunches and has nice legs and a pretty, short back. She seems to hesitate a little at the jumps, and a bit too downward over the obstacles, but I love how she moves.
I went to Young Riders this year with her - she's amazing! She (the rider) is very upright in her posture because the horse is really unpredictable as to when its going to take off, but she's really good about slipping the reins so she does NOT ruin the horse's mouth (you can see that after a lot of jumps she's gathering the reins back up because she slipped them over the top so as not to punish the horse).
Wow, reading the comments on this video is so amusing! A bunch of hunter riders who have probably never ridden outside the ring or jumped a solid fence really FAIL at trying to criticize this extraordinary rider. News flash -- the long crest release is NOT FOR CROSS COUNTRY unless you like to eat dirt/grass/wood/tree/water. And they all seem to equate speed to a lack of control ... it's pretty hilarious. Kudos to the wonderful pair in the video for showing everyone how it should be done! =D
Wow, what a great ride! And a cute horse...I loved at 3:31 when she talks to her horse like that and then goes 'whoop!' It sounds like she's having fun, and that's what's important, right? :D
yeah i realized this is a 1*, but the flags on the jumps are blue, which is usually what they color 3*/advanced levels.. so idk thats why i was confused hah. the olympics is actually 3* though
This just makes me wish even more that I was born somewhere where horseriding is less 'foreign' and horses and large fields were plentiful. Love horses and animals but living in SG is just too hard to carry out that passion. T_T
really nice horse! such a bold and beautiful jump :) and the rider looked really good too. it takes a lot of staminia to stay out of saddle all the way. how did they place?
That was one hell of a ride! It was nice to see the whole course, not to mention that horse took it full speed and cleared everything with ease. Anyone know what breed this horse is?
How do you get into cross country? I've lived in the southwest all my life and I've never heard of any shows or clubs for it around here, is it regional specific? Any help would be cool.
Some people are so ignorant, they call themselves experts from hacking around on a pony for one day only, and they go bash on this video. I bet they are jealous because she's such an amazing rider x). Best wishes to this them, truly an amazing team. ;)
My goodness. The whole time I'm watching this vid, I'm thinking: "No small task". I imagined it's timed. I imagined me running all over a field with my little nephew on my shoulders and I have to jump and run faster than another uncle with his tiny nephew. No small task. (Love the huff puff comment :) And I reckon the rider MUST have to work well with the running horse. Lordie. You riders, can you feel your horses getting nervey with anticipation before "the game" like we do?
event horses do nothing more likely than running and jumping ,most event horses are pretty hard to handle in the starting-box because they are so keen on going on the course ,my horse always knew that it's time for the xc just by putting the xc-protectors on his legs and he couldn't wait at all XD
@gwgallopergirl that is how it 'used' to be, but too many riders were injuring themselves and their horses by trying to go too fast. So it is now a set time and whoever is closest (without being to far over or under) wins.
What breed is Dauntless Heart? I've tried to research it, but found nothing... By the way, fantastic video! Both rider and the horse look great together.
that was very well done! i certainly couldn't have done that! does it freak anyone else out when they are juming downhill? that scares the living daylights out of me :]
in XC no one cares if you look bad as long as you make it through clear. the rules in XC are, #1 don't fall off #2 no refusals #3 get a good time. not to fast not to slow. thats it.
that is incorrect. in cross country there is a set speed for each level along with an optimum time for each course. if you go too slow or too fast you will get faults. the time is used as a tie breaker sometimes as well, the closest to the optimum time is the person who gets the top place. T
Hmmm that could be, i have never seen anything other than green for prelim, red for intermediate, and blue for advanced... and i have shown a pretty good bit, i run prelim.. but your explanation would make more sense i guess.. its a mystery lol
shes is leaning into the horse alot, but that is alsot her holding him back. cant you see how eager the horse is? its all she can do to keep him at a steady pace. dont judge so harshly.
what breed it the horse? he/she is beautiful. is it a gelding, stallion, or mare? good stamina, enderence, speed, n other stuff.lol. very good horsemanship between horse n rider. i wish i have a pair. i wish i have a horse. love the video. awesome. good job.
it should just be a one star and don't the number colors change per barn/event? that's what I've found but I'm only at BN/N. You're right though, VA doesn't hold an advanced level HT. T
Wow. This horse and rider are amazing. The difficult turns that had to be executed in the mulitple effort jumps were phenomenal! That horse was willing to do the craziest jumps with this rider. Very well done.
Wonderful rider! You can see how they love eachother and her encouragements to the horse!!! Good job for her!
These two did great! I liked that it showed the WHOLE course not just parts! This pair makes me want to do cross country even more than I already did! :)
Damn that horse is well named. He sure loves cross country. Great partnership - her hands and legs are so solid and supportive. Excellent job!!
Really good horse. Horses like this are worth their weight in gold.
You don't need music in this video. Listen to all the birds!
That horse is so gorgeous! And an amazing run too!
That was a beautiful cross country run...Dauntless Heart is a beautiful mare...
That horse is gorgeous and that rider is awesome!

good vid these riders are so skilled i hope to do it someday
For everyone asking, the horse is a QH/TB cross

that horse is quit amazing, quick to his mind and feet.
wow shes an amazing rider!
jez, that horse looks like it could just keep going! you must have worked hard with your horse, thats a lot of stamina!
The horse is having so much fun! 8D
CCI one star. A large prelim.

What a little jumping machine!!
The VIrginia Horse Park in Lexington Virginia
yeah i realized this is a 1*, but the flags on the jumps are blue, which is usually what they color 3*/advanced levels.. so idk thats why i was confused hah. the olympics is actually 3* though
i like how she pets the horse after each jump. now THATS horsemanship. :)
that horse is so pretty.
@RNSvideo Ok. Thanks. ;)
u sure rode that course well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good horse!!
This just makes me wish even more that I was born somewhere where horseriding is less 'foreign' and horses and large fields were plentiful. Love horses and animals but living in SG is just too hard to carry out that passion. T_T
@eventerx33 hell yes. loose reinds, full speed, no hesitation
Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia
really nice horse! such a bold and beautiful jump :) and the rider looked really good too. it takes a lot of staminia to stay out of saddle all the way. how did they place?

Oops beautiful x)
@westealingdogs I don't know but I'm going to guess TB.
Collects up too much before the fences, hence the horse putting in a little stride before a lot of the fences. Lovely, very honest horse.
@tysonrocksmyworld same thing - always give proper credit to the people that shot it - (RNS) and the horse and rider.
How do you get into cross country? I've lived in the southwest all my life and I've never heard of any shows or clubs for it around here, is it regional specific? Any help would be cool.

Cute horse! The rider needs softer hands and more contact, it might help encourage the horse to stay forward and still know she's there. Good ride!
She's a good rider, I wonder what speed that was? Maybe 400 or 450?
Beautiful course, lots of uphill & downhill. Her horse was really well balanced.
that horse saved her ass quiet a few time but still a very good pair!..i want that horse!!!
My goodness.

Sehr schön geritten.

that horse loves to run
They both look like they were having such a good time out there! :( I wish my horse was allowed to jump.
that was very well done! i certainly couldn't have done that!
does it freak anyone else out when they are juming downhill? that scares the living daylights out of me :]
well she never gets into 2 point early enough and that could run the horse right into the jump and get ingured because she is not prepared
in XC no one cares if you look bad as long as you make it through clear. the rules in XC are, #1 don't fall off #2 no refusals #3 get a good time. not to fast not to slow. thats it.

wow amazing horse and rider, was that intermediate or higher?
shes is leaning into the horse alot, but that is alsot her holding him back. cant you see how eager the horse is? its all she can do to keep him at a steady pace. dont judge so harshly.
woww strong horse long running pretty
It sounds like the hooves may be too long.
what breed it the horse? he/she is beautiful. is it a gelding, stallion, or mare? good stamina, enderence, speed, n other stuff.lol. very good horsemanship between horse n rider. i wish i have a pair. i wish i have a horse. love the video. awesome. good job.
can i use this in a video im making?
I like how in 2:44 you can see a port-a-potty. =)
I have to say this but, RNS are my initials W00. Feel Special.
Beautiful horse! :D I want to learn cross country, but the horses I ride are lazy lol(:
What a rider. If I could do and ride like that I would be doing something else besides what I do.
Is this the Dutch mare and young rider who won the gold medal together?
it should just be a one star and don't the number colors change per barn/event? that's what I've found but I'm only at BN/N. You're right though, VA doesn't hold an advanced level HT.
