Austin mills Baylor you already know i want to see that think yall so even only maybe now you got a tiny advantage in athletic ability maybe couple inches off vertical lol on him
That was an impressive comeback. Had to fight through exhaustion. I’d really like to see your hands more active on defense. Really pressuring his handles. You did it perfectly when score was 8-15. Made him rush a fadeaway. Hope the 2 cents helps💪🏽
Being a PRO player myself, Austin you got to stop picking up the ball too early bro, just keep the dribble alive. That is why you get stuck sometimes and then throw up crazy bad shots. Amazing content, Love it
There was a lot of instances of your defender with his hands down on the check up. Would’ve love to see you take a couple of those shots to keep him honest. That shot his well in your range, punish him for sleeping on it
Amazing efforts brother!!! You are the man!! I was sweating my ass off and I was just watching, I can't even imagine how tough that match must have been physically.
Two biggest takeaways for me 1: work on your conditioning. I think that will solve alot like better movement on defense and being lighter on your feet in general. Something I usually do to help is sprints. Basketball is a game of runs. Also I usually try to do a mile after playing basketball no matter how tired I am. 2: work on triple threat. It got better towards the end but you didn't make him think when you were in triple threat like he did you. You put the ball on the floor to fast in my opinion. Use more pump fakes before u dribble since u can shoot. Work on the shimmy jab then shimmy jab into a crossover. Overall though great work and comeback. You motivating me
Well said my friend 👍💯 totally agree!!! Cardio is key.. and it's something you can do with no one around!! It's just you and your limits going head to head 🤬 (there's always a limit) but a true warrior 🪖 can push his so far back 💪 that your opponent will never see it!!! He only sees his own.. So you write ✍️ down in all caps the word "LEARN"!!! You remove the letter "L" and hand it to him!!! 🤫 and you put the rest in your pocket my brother.. cuz you've "EARN" dat shit 🥱💸💯😎 lol Billy from Baltimore brotha 🤬👊
When i played football. All my coaches said to never sit down when you're out of breathe. To walk back and forth and focus on controlling your breathing. Idk if this will help you but it always helped me
Fantastic 1v1, definitely improving a lot to have a comeback that large against a legit hooper. Hope you get the opportunity to play ball overseas man. Just something I think could have made the game closer is not moving as much on defense off Mal's jabs, etc. You're opening up more opportunities for him to attack while also allowing him to reserve his energy and shoot open jumpers while you're in constant movement. My advice would be stay low in your stance and instead of pivoting and opening up to the side he is looking to attack on/the side he jab's on, you could have an angular stance and force him towards his weak hand by moving further to the side he's just jabbed to block the opportunity and force him to his weak side/hand, instead of stepping backwards or having a straight stance. So if he looks to drive on the side he has just jabbed you block him completely as you've already beat him to the position, if he looks to attack on his weak side you will be right with him all the way as you're in an angular stance and can just slide your feet, and lastly if he looks to shoot you're there to put at least a hand up because you haven't retreated too far to avoid the drive. A lot of other players could use this advice, so feel free to use it if need be. If you're having troubling understanding what I mean there's a video that exists somewhere on UA-cam where Marcus Smart (An elite NBA defender) breaks this down. Another NBA player who is exceptional at this is Davion Mitchell, so you could check out some of his defensive highlights (he always beats the defender to a position and draws charges, etc.). Sorry for ranting, just defense is 50% of the game, so it's pretty important to be able to play both sides of the ball. Hope this helps.
Great game man. You held your own against someone who is bigger, faster, stronger. He had many weapons and got it to a 2 pt game after being down 15-0. Big props.
Continue to work on your overall athleticism and try maybe pjf performance speed and other things but most importantly get faster, strong and quicker so you can play better d also. Huge fan also God bless you and pray you grow in your journey with him
What an impressive match up. You both earn credit. Fighting through fatigue and everything. I would love to see duke and that guy 1v1. S/o money millz!
Honestly Austin, you have all the tools to compete with everyone and anyone. You got good footwork, crafty, good jump shot, and your defense is solid. I just think it’s your confidence is lackey sometime. You’re real hard on your self when you’re not doing what you know your capable of doing.
Honestly as I’m growing my game and working on it daily, my confidence is pouring in. It may be more noticeable in a few weeks or months as the work continues.
Listening to the coaching that your giving yourself mid match was really informative. Like I felt like I learned a lot. Idk how you feel about yourself, but you we’re definitely playing on a professional level. Ignore the score. I hope I can see you on one of my favorite teams one day!
Was kinda frustrating a lil bit the first half just cause we all know what milly can do.. I think he was in his own head after the first couple blocks against him, milly showing that there’s levels to this. W fucking vid
A Milly, new sub to the channel here. Just wanna say HELL OF A GAME MY DAWG !! Listen, 1v1 ain’t easy against any comp, especially against legit pro hooper comp. And when you get in a 15-0 hole, it’s EVEN harder to get yourself motivated to get out of it somehow. So props for that. And while a lot the constructive criticism is definitely noted & valid in these comment, it’s also real easy to do so while sitting on your couch or laying in bed late at night while watching you hoop past the 2nd & 3rd wall lol. Keep hooping. You know what you’ve gotta do to get better, as you should wanna do. But even so, be proud of the fight & legit SHOTMAKING ability that you displayed. If you could create for more space (at this elite level of comp I mean), then you’d be a true true terror. Good luck my g
Also, I know that Malcolm didn’t seem to be hooping too hard, maybe going like half-speed or so on offense. But he was definitely sitting on defense. So you responding to his 15-0 with your own 15-2 is ABSOLUTELY INSANE. You’re really talented man, just know that real hoop heads understand what you just did !!
For defenders like this who block pull ups you gotta move laterally then go for a pull up. He'll just start to block it easier if you move towards him. Especially if they're taller than you. Now if y'all the same height you can pull that off at any moment. But sometimes you gotta move laterally. Also you can still Hesi forward but it'll be more at a angle. So basically moves laterally first with a floot dribble then drive and pull up. The good thing about this is you won't have to rely on tough fades
hey milly .. shout out to you my brother.. like watching you play ..youre doing your thing.. you asked us to comment if we see something.. youre moving too much on defense... if you stay centered on d instead of reacting to every move, youll give yourself more of a chance to be in defensive position when the actual shot goes up. hopefully that makes sense
Austin good luck I wish you to make your dreams come true. You must use more your step back. It will help you to create more space and it will give you more opportunities for open shots. Continue the grind man.
Great game out there Austin your looking great! 2022 your not messing around. It would be nice to see you play D’vontay friga again your game is a lot more complete now and your in better shape that would nice to see. Good luck in your game against white Iverson I’m rooting for you
One annoying little small thing i like to do as a defender when a shot goes up is change whether i'm going to put a hand in his face or try to block/contest the shot itself. When you alternate i find it messes with people's rhythm even just a little. Love your game and really hope you make it overseas. keep workin famo! I wanna see you play Mr. 45 tbh
Be more confident in your strength and quickness. You seem to be a lot stronger than the videos give you credit for. & even to be fatigued great defense towards the end way to grind through the pain! Love the content bro! That jumper ⛽️ And keep balling A MILLY🔥🙏🏽
Love the video. Love the ambition you've set for yourself. And I'm here for it. I believe in you. You're gonna make it. I want you to play Marcelas Howard :)
Yo you really inspired me to get back in the gym. Also you we’re not creating space at all and against a taller matchup is even more difficult to get a shot off. You should really watch this tape and see the opportunity’s that u missed. He was a good defender but u were able to shift him at times but u didn’t attack him. Not sure if it was because of fatigue or what but when u go back look for the subtle movements that u were able make him do and attack him from there. Good game u hit some really tough shots. And played good defense against a bigger guy. U got some heart my boy keep grinding. Hopefully we can run it one day.💯 💪🏽 🏀
this was a great 1v1, you were making some good comeback...What I feel like from watching it, I feel like you always miss 1 or even 2 dribbles for no reason because you start dribbling but stay on 1 spot and then you get moving and only got 1 or 2 dribbles left...Your opponent was doing it good, he was pump faking and jab stepping more to create that first little space and then started dribbling
This is a severe mis-match for A-Milly. Great effort ... but height, jumping ability and shooting skill all matter. That's why the NBA loves guards with ups.
What's up bro, love the content & overall game. Definitely my favorite player on Ballislife by far!! I played highschool & AAU basketball as a young lad & I think your defense could be better. Maybe train with Tim & just focus on sitting down on defense! This may sound cliche but watch the offensive players movements & not the ball. Much love mate!
Milly when u do the hard cross when the defenders lead foot is pointed towards u don’t let there body weight affect your momentum u gotta pound tha ball in order to get pass them easier
I think u should try getting lower and wider on your crossovers. U have such a deadly hezi so I understand keeping the ball close so u can get to that quick pull-up, but I think utilising a wider crossover can help u get more shifty and create that space for shot or driving lanes. Also probably try cradling the ball high when going layups so he can't easily reach without fouling. As someone who's trying to improve my own game plz let me know what u think and if I'm wrong entirely.
Great video. Imo - your jab step isn’t wide enough. Your hips seem super tight. I’m about to send this to my trainer. He said the exact same thing after the game lol
you deserve everything coming to you Milly, big fan of yours brother keep grinding youll make it exactly where you wanna go.
Appreciate that my dude. 🙏🏼
Amazing efforts brother!!! You are the man!! I was sweating my ass off and I was just watching, I can't even imagine how tough that match must have been physically.
FINALLY !! Glad someone said it, he deserves hella credit for that alone. Not to mention responding with his own 15-2 run after starting 15-0 !!

Awesome player. You're letting him get comfortable on offense. His first shot was a 3 with you 2 steps back. On offense I noticed your first move is always lateral. This makes you predictable. You've got a great weapon in your jumper. Give that opponent a head fake instead of an immediate dribble drive
Since you asked for it: I do feel like you need to create more space from the triple threat with a dribble limit. Especially the first 15 points you got no room at all.
On D, when he hits you with the jab step, you have a tendency to drop with only one foot and get put back on your heels instead of being on the balls of your feet and rotating your bottom half.
Great input
