    Ben took a what was pretty much a guaranteed hit to his ego and "record" as a wrestler, and risked going against arguably the best in the world at it, for the sake of generating attention to the sport. This guy is great and even when he loses he wins,

    • @KrisBishop78
      @KrisBishop78 5 років тому +31

      Yeah Freestyle wrestling doesn’t really translate well into MMA because it’s primarily just a takedown contest. Ben is better in MMA because of his top control from folkstyle wrestling “Ben was an excellent pinner and top guy” which is actually WAY better for MMA fighting as you can keep an opponent down instead of just taking them down. But could you imagine Jordan’s blast double in MMA?

If Jordan's smart, he'd adapt ot Khabib's style of fighting. with that Superior Wrestling ability, Ground and Pound would become second nature in a few months for him. I wouldn't say "Monster". • @lasvegasloner4621
      @lasvegasloner4621 5 років тому

      Yeah... back in the late 90's I predicted it might be that way some day, and all I got were casual fans putting down wrestling. I knew it was so general in between the other styles, and all about transitions, that it would help immensely. Others that came from one discipline usually were so focused that their techniques left them open in many other ways. Most of all, humans like to go the easiest route, and that usually means they are in love with only finishes, as if all the fictional fights in stories, movies, etc... are the way all fights have to go. Some fights are ugly and drag on because the combatants are close in ability. That's just life. Wreslting has been part of human natural life and survival for tens of thousands of years. They didn't stand and trade spin kicks and upright boxing when they fought over a peace of meat to survive in the paleolithic times. They did what ever was getting right to the gritty part of dominance and didn't do spectacular things hoping for a KO with high risk.
