Some people point out how Herc did things to save Iolaus (in Not Fade Away he makes a deal with Hades for Iolaus) or tries to save him (in Decent he hopes the Sumerian gods will be more merciful. However, he didn't have any opportunities to talk to any gods about Deinera. Now we can also point out he cried out to Zeus and was ignored. But I will point out that Zeus did him a 1 time favor in the very 1st movie (the Amazon Women) and let him go back in time to save a lot of people. So Zeus was not apt to interfere again. It seems to me a matter if circumstances, not favoritism.
