Beautiful wow......shooo I love your work.....does it not run once you have dried it then go to wash it on your hot cycle.....I do t have synthrapol here eith in Cape Town....what else could I use....your work is beautiful....
Thankyou for the great video. Question..i notice no rinsing required? Why , when unfolding dye doesn't go onto white part, from yr gloves or other area of cloth? I have shiboried with cotton and procion mx only..going to sample with Rit liquid dyes just to see, steam it for 40 min. Or batch dye overnight and rinse. I will subscribe!!
You can totally rinse, but I used to not because I was dyeing in a limited space. It didn't really transfer that much since I used synthrapol. Have you ever used indigo?
@Onyx Art Studios even though I am a dyer, I have not yet used indigo. I have done shibori on cotton and rayon blanks and on my handwoven cloth( plain weave or twill, using fine threads) cuz I like dyeing the cloth first and then use another colour besides blue. But would like to try!
Loved the pattern. Why do I see greenish tinge on the edges with the blue? Where does that come from and I don't see the Same after you have washed it.
Thanks! I have a live online workshop about indigo where I go more in depth about indigo www.eventbrite.com/e/shibori-indigo-tie-dye-for-beginners-virtual-workshop-tickets-104093582708?aff=ebdsoporgprofile

You can use regular laundry detergent but synthrapol keeps the dye from washing out and going into the resist parts.

Good question- the green is unoxidized indigo- once the air hits it turns fully blue.
