Oh my god...that part where the sounds get muffled and the movie goes really dark...Baymax goes Hulk-mode....everyone tries to stop him, Callaghan is running for his life....Hiro loses it....jeez. Loved this movie.... The build-up to this and the aftermath....perfect.
I loved that effect. It showed, not only the ruthlessness of the undisciplined machine but also of the vengeful heart. Everything that was still there for Hiro was fading because of his fixation on Callaghan.
I fucking love how these new Disney movies aren't afraid to explore dark concepts. Like Hiro was actually going to just watch him die. That's damn powerful stuff.
Or Mother Gothel stabbing Flynn in the back with the knife.. I mean really, that was fuckin intense.. Which Disney movie has done that in the past? Kudos to Disney for that.
Or Hans attempting to kill the queen, AND letting her sister freeze to death, and taking over the kingdom. Or King Candy with his line of "Let's watch her die together!" Man Disney has been going dark as of late........I LOVE IT!
3:00-3:42 makes my stomach twist, it's that intense and heartbreaking and dark This soundtrack is amazing, and Disney deserves a lot for making the hero of a movie go to such a dark place. Turning Baymax from something designed to nurture into a method of murder, trying to kill Yokai, watching his team/friends get thrown around and hurt without batting an eye because he wanted revenge...If the team hadn't stopped Hiro...it could have ended up being a VILLAIN origin story...
"Dr. Callaghan? The explosion...you died." "No, I had your microbots." "But...Tadashi...you just let him die." "Give me the mask, Hiro." "He went in there to save you!" "That was HIS mistake!" "..." "..." "...Baymax...Destroy."
I see you there, Scout. You can't hide. -I have your Medic and Heavy locked in my closet, and tonight, we're gonna have... Heh... Let's just say two horns and one donut.-
What I loved about this scene so much was that you could see the terror in Callaghan’s eyes. First of all that’s amazing for any animated moment to express and also I love it when the supposed ‘villain’ is truly scare and that’s expressed. It shows so much more.
You can totally see the pain and fear in Callaghan's eyes...it broke my heart. And to know that with just the push of a button, a robot can go from kind and innocent to destructive and dangerous.
"With the push of a button a robot can go from kind and innocent to destructive and dangerous." ... So you mean he was human then. Just like Hiro. Kind and innocent... and then Callahan pushed the button. That was HIS mistake. And he was about to pay for it. Blood for blood. Revenge may not bring someone back, but it is a way justice can be served. Why should your brother's murderer get to enjoy life, walking around free, breathing the air your brother should have breathed? Why should he continue to exist when your brother is gone? It won't bring him back, and it won't make you or anyone else happy, but it will set things RIGHT. At the end of the day, everything is about balancing the scales.
Just imagine this with any lovable character. Hiro telling Baymax to kill. Finn using his magic to brutally destroy the Lich King. Steven using his gem powers to shatter the diamonds, all blinded by the loss of loved ones, and all with every ounce of mercy drained from their once loving hearts.
Silent Sparrow is by far my favorite scene in this movie. If not in any movie ever. The powerful and depressing sound of the orchestra in this piece just fits the scene perfectly. And to see a lovable character go evil like that and destine to destroy by someone orders is just so crazy and speechless. I love the music for this scene so much that I had to look at the soundtrack after I watched Big Hero 6. This scene has no words to describe how amazing it is.
Frisson: an emotional response to music. For me it feels like my skin is pulsating, that's when I know when I'm listening to something great, when my other senses don't know what I'm listening to but my skin does before me. I've only had that sensation a couple of times. One is this one, when Baymax goes antihero, Baymax was the extension of hiros emotions at that moment when hiro didn't have the means to show his own strength. The second is when kurapika fights majitani and majitani shows his fake spider tattoo and kurapikas eyes turn to Scarlett. The third time is attack on Titan when Bertholdth gives his speech to his scout commrades when he's inside the armored titans hand in season 2 episode 11 (charge) "please, someone find us". For Bertholdth you have to listen to the dub version. The English version. I have more but I'll stop here.
Seeing Baymax be the mindless killing machine at that one part had me out of my seat, I was really afraid for the others because Baymax had a one track mind. Even Hiro might not have been safe. It was awesome how Disney pulled that off, shook me up quite a bit.
(villain is Callaghan) Ah-huh, that was predictable a lot earlier in the movie. Now I guess Hiro is gonna have the moral High Ground? (Hero orders Baymax to kill Callaghan) DAYUM

Man, the way the music just kept getting louder and louder to the point where every other sound effect became null and void made the scene that accompanied it even more frightening than it already was. Absolutely amazing; it still gives me shivers when I listen to it.
The relationship between Hiro and Callahan reminds me of a quote from Batman to Owlman: "There is a difference between you and me. We both looked into the abyss, but when it looked back, you blinked."
+Bright Star from what i can tell both Hiro and Callahan were confronted by the pain of loss, the Abyss that stared at them was the anger and rage that threaten to consume them and drive them down a very dark path, but the smallest part of Hiro refused to stop staring at the dark and came out for the better. but callahan could not accept his loss and continued to get revenge despite all the damage it caused and the people who tried to reach out, he got lucky to see his daughter again but in the end his actions indirectly caused the death of a good person who wanted nothing more than to help others
Both Owlman and Batman are Bruce Wayne - and they both lost their parents. But while Batman faced desperation head on and made something out of it, Owlman became a nihilist - someone who firmly believed that nothing mattered anymore, so everything had to go. the part between 3:00 and 3:40 with the scene showed Baymax insistence and determination to destroy that masked guy gave me a goose pumps, one of the best dark scenes i've ever seen in a cartoon movie
Props to Jackman, when watching this scene the first time around, it moved me to tears. So intense and powerful, showing a good person in their darkest hour and the effect of loss and depression. I love Big Hero 6
I gotta give props to Disney on this one! That powerful turn at 3:00 is so moving, and the fact that it increases as his rage builds. Watching death approach his enemy was not hindering him but fueling him. So happy they touched on such a taboo topic.
the way that music climbs more and more intense and just doesnt get to any kind of end, it just trails and fizzles... its sooo teasing and frustrating, i feel like it could have continues or changed and made something like a burst of energy and tension or something. argh
This is one of my favorite parts in the movie cause it's when Hero tells Baymax to destroy the guy who killed his brother. The power and emotion behind that scene is top notch and captured perfectly.
This scene always gives me the chills. It's so creepy and heartbreaking to see Baymax go from friendly, huggable robotic nurse to an unstoppable juggernaut in less than a minute.
"How could you do that?! I had him!" "You just did we've never signed up for." "We said we'd catch the guy, that's it." "I never should've let you help me!"
This scene in the movie was incredible in its entirety, however aside from the evident (Hiro succumbing to his anger and grief in an incredible moment of a Disney hero _not_ having the moral high ground) two parts stood out to me. One was Callaghan telling Hiro, "That was his mistake!" It's difficult for me to explain why but it's, in essence, the fact that while it was a little obvious who the villain was, the viewer is lead to believe that Callaghan is a kind man who cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. That he says this, to the brother of the young man who died in vain in an effort to save _his_ life, speaks volumes to me of how deeply he had become consumed by his lust for revenge. Mad props to Disney for nailing that. The other was everyone struggling to stop Baymax from killing Callaghan. It's not a stretch to assume that Tadashi's friends all knew what he was building for his robotics project, and knew _why_ - to help people. It's even less of a stretch to then infer that Baymax is the only tangible piece of him they have left. It's heartbreaking to consider what must've been going through their heads during this scene.
This scene reminded me SO MUCH of Iron Giant. I was scared of Baymax and while I can understand Hiro's anger, I was just terrified that things suddenly got VERY scary and dark. And I LOVE IT. Disney needs to get further into these dark realities! They're scary and amazing
This song fits with any character destroying a ton of shit. If Batman mercilessly beat the life out of Joe Chill till Robin stops him, or if Wolverine went into berserker rage and killed everything in sight.
Wow. Listening to the playlist for the soundtrack and so far this is definitely the one that got me most. The tenseness and dark atmosphere with the music and this scene and everything and it all just uurrrgggggg it all goes together so perfectly I'm getting chills
That unerving tension that starts @ 3:00 and grasps at you til 3:42. Just listening and remembering what happened in that scene.Aw man.It makes me...sad.IN TEH FEELS MAN!!
Seriously amazing! i love the emotions. Life isn't all fairy tale happy endings and finally disney changes their tune and makes it more dark when it should be.
God, this scene! Hiro forcing Baymax to kill Yokai scene rivals the one in How to Train Your Dragon 2 where Toothless was mind-controlled into attacking Hiccup and Stoick took the blast for him...INTENSE!!!
anime fan And if Hiro succeeded in killing Callaghan, his mind would brake completely and he would become a homicidal maniac with an intense set of laughter like this: ua-cam.com/video/lb8fWUUXeKM/v-deo.html
anime fan Every now and then a good guy (mostly a hero's relative) died. How to Train Your Dragon 2 made it a bit better than others by putting a mind-controlled good guy to do the job, that's why it's intense. But it's not every day you see the hero himself resorting to killing in a kid's movie, and Big Hero 6 does a good job in showing that...yeah...Hiro was actually going to KILL this guy, and Baymax going all Terminator-mode and throwing his own allies around doesn't help, THAT is why it's intense. Most wouldn't expect such a dark moment from a Disney movie LOL.
“It cant be bargained with, it cant be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, EVER, untill you are dead!”
When Baymax was trying to destroy Callahan, did anyone else notice that the sounds of the environment faded out? All you could hear was the music driving home the mood of the scene. It was as though you could hear the rage and despair that Hiro was feeling at the time.
when Hiro took the health chip out of baymax it's like he was giving in to his rage and order baymax to kill Yokai and seeing baymax smashing through the pillars it's seeing the rage in a form of a beast. this movies shows a lot of emotions and what happens when one's heart is consumed by rage and revenge
More like: "Baymax...crush the sick bastard with your own hands send him off the to hell where he belongs." (Removes the chip. And if Hiro succeeded...) "Yes...do it! KILL HIM! KILL HIM!! BURN HIM THE WAY HE TOOK MY BROTHER!!! YOU'LL BURN IN HELL CALLAGHAN!! YOU'LL BURN IN HELL LIKE TADASHIIII!!! AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
Everyone talking about how great the song was and the tone. And here Im just like " Darn i was hoping for evil Baymax to go nuts with Hiro and go find Callahan to kill him." Kinda like in the Iron Giant. This and that movie are similar in a few ways.
I can just see Tadashi watching in horror at how miserable his baby brother feels at this moment in time. Even turning his own nurturing creation into a weapon of murder
The music from 3:25 to 3:42 is now my default ringtone!!! That scene when Baymax goes Hulk is so powerful and un-Disney like!! The protagonist attempts to commit murder!? Wait!! What!? #NailedIt
You see, this is what I love about movies - where your main character isn't some perfect, blame free citizen! We ALL make mistakes and learn from them, which also gives a good life lesson!
Do I catch a little bit of Tadashi's theme around 2:50 right before Baymax goes on rampage and again as Hiro flies off around 4:15 - 4:35? Or maybe I'm crazy But oh man this ost
Big hero six got me to care about it, instead of showing just a cliche cute thing and a boy's friendship we got to see sooooo much more. Sometimes I question Disney's ability to make extraordinary films (lately. I'm still big fan. Don't hate me). But this showed me that they still got it, and using themes that make not just a better but deeper story.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!POSSIBLE SPOILERS!! DID NOT SEE MOVIE? SKIP COMMENT!!! Did anyone else kinda hope that the masked man was Tadashi? Even if he somehow turned evil, or that if that motive made no sense, I held my breath hoping it was him. 😿
"T-Tadashi...We thought you died... W-Why are you here? W-Why are you trying to destroy us?! Y-Your best friends! Me! Why are you acting like this?! W-What happened to my brother?!..."
It pretty much blew my mind when Baymax went all rage mode on the professor. The music, and the fact that baymax was unstoppable made me mentally crap my pants.
Disney always hits you with the feels. God damn. Pfftt. And I used to question why people regardless of their age would watch Disney movies..I learned my lesson.
Oh my god...that part where the sounds get muffled and the movie goes really dark...Baymax goes Hulk-mode....everyone tries to stop him, Callaghan is running for his life....Hiro loses it....jeez. Loved this movie....

Personally it felt more like Baymax went Terminator, still scarier than Night on Bald Mountain.
I loved that effect. It showed, not only the ruthlessness of the undisciplined machine but also of the vengeful heart. Everything that was still there for Hiro was fading because of his fixation on Callaghan.

(Removes the chip. And if Hiro succeeded...)
"Yes...do it! KILL HIM!
No, it's a family movie, it wouldn't have bad words like the one for 'kid with mom's last name'.
3:00 your welcome!
3:00 to 3:43 is like... WHY didn't he put more of that in this soundtrack??
I need more soundtracks like this
so emotional i love it i cried on that part
3:04 NOOOOOOOOO
Henry Jackman is always a win...can confirm that, this score makes me feel...damn you Henry
This always gives me the chills!
I got chills during this scene.
"What you just did...we NEVER signed up for."
The most dramatic and best scene in the whole movie. It really shows how unstoppable Baymax would be if he was allowed to harm a human being.
Goooooooood!!!!! I cry with this soundtrack, now imagine how I get when I see the movie
When I heard this during the movie I was like I gotta hear this again it really adds to the emotion
“Hiro, this is not what-“
*Eyes go red*
Everyone talking about how great the song was and the tone. And here Im just like " Darn i was hoping for evil Baymax to go nuts with Hiro and go find Callahan to kill him." Kinda like in the Iron Giant. This and that movie are similar in a few ways.
in the iron giant it's like
"Giant. Destroy."
in big hero 6 it's like
"Baymax. Destroy."
In Terminator it's like
"T-Some hundred. Destroy."
+Jacob Griffin in BO3 it's like
MLG
CoolGhost78890
What are BO3 and MLG?
+Jacob Griffin Search BO3 :)
"I regret any distress I may have caused.."
I almost cried on this one because of the song
IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSS AAAHHH
A life for a life.
Fair is Fair
@@viceroybvs3519 We are indeed the perfect colony.
I can just see Tadashi watching in horror at how miserable his baby brother feels at this moment in time. Even turning his own nurturing creation into a weapon of murder
This scene was so powerful, oh my goodness
I love so much this track!
I came for 3:03
same m8
I'm getting a Star Wars Vibe at 2:59
The music from 3:25 to 3:42 is now my default ringtone!!! That scene when Baymax goes Hulk is so powerful and un-Disney like!! The protagonist attempts to commit murder!? Wait!! What!?
#NailedIt
You see, this is what I love about movies - where your main character isn't some perfect, blame free citizen! We ALL make mistakes and learn from them, which also gives a good life lesson!
only thing I could think of during half of this movie including this scene was sasuke and itachi
I was thinking the same thing! Minus the "I hate my older brother" part
Hiro is Sasuke, Tadashi is Itachi, and Callaghan is Danzo.
Do I catch a little bit of Tadashi's theme around 2:50 right before Baymax goes on rampage and again as Hiro flies off around 4:15 - 4:35? Or maybe I'm crazy
But oh man this ost
It does sound like the leitmotif Jackson used for Tadashi, yeah. Oh, that's good.
2:45 the epic action part starts
Big hero six got me to care about it, instead of showing just a cliche cute thing and a boy's friendship we got to see sooooo much more. Sometimes I question Disney's ability to make extraordinary films (lately. I'm still big fan. Don't hate me). But this showed me that they still got it, and using themes that make not just a better but deeper story.
at 3:02 is the absolute best part.
3:03 BAYMAX! DESTROY!
2:58 GETS ME EMOTIONAL EVERYTIME
Someone definitely should do an extended version of 3:00-3:40
I love this soundtrack it makes me feel dark. Well I love dark soundtrack. It helps me to think like batman when he's in rage.
2:50 The part you came to see
3:00 that's when the shit hits the fan ^HYPED
POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!
DID NOT SEE MOVIE? SKIP COMMENT!!!
Did anyone else kinda hope that the masked man was Tadashi? Even if he somehow turned evil, or that if that motive made no sense, I held my breath hoping it was him. 😿
no way
When the trailer came out that's exactly what I thought.
I wanted it to be Tadashi too even if it made no sense.
Lol... that be a horrendous plot twist
"T-Tadashi...We thought you died... W-Why are you here? W-Why are you trying to destroy us?! Y-Your best friends! Me! Why are you acting like this?! W-What happened to my brother?!..."
3:28 gave me goosebumps
Why this wasn't nominated for Best Original Score @ Oscars, I will never know ..
3:00-3:42 How I will be when someone messes with my Family.
The part where he started destroying him almost made me cry ;( amen to the most powerful kids film ever made
Idk why but every time 3:00 hits I always picture magneto losing his cool while Xavier tries to reach him through telepathy
It pretty much blew my mind when Baymax went all rage mode on the professor. The music, and the fact that baymax was unstoppable made me mentally crap my pants.
Pain of a rim world
3:14 this is amaziing
Disney always hits you with the feels. God damn. Pfftt. And I used to question why people regardless of their age would watch Disney movies..I learned my lesson.
SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF- The moment you believed a Disney character was about to KILL a villain. Brought to you by Henry Jackman.
my god i was looking for this and i completely forgot it was in a kid's movie
"Silent Sparrow" sounds like a great name for an alt-rock band.
3:00 Baymax Destroy
hiro: do it baymax destroy him
Baymax: 3:00
