Vaginal Hysterectomy - Day 2 Post Op

- I got a vaginal hysterectomy (not laparoscopically assisted) on January 3rd 2019.
I am 27 years old, and have never been pregnant.
The reason for my surgery was dysmenorrhea.
While I am transgender (nonbinary, they/them), the reason for my hysterectomy had nothing to do with my gender identity.
I am currently not on any hormones/HRT. I was on the Mirena IUD, and they removed that the same day of my procedure. Since I kept my ovaries, I have no need for any hormone therapy if I don't want it.
My final post op appointment is one month post-op.
Glad it went well
Congratulations. You can look forward to an easier pain free life. xx
In what country do you recommend that the surgery be performed....🙂?
I had the same procedure dec 17th 2019. I’m okay. Still a little pain.
I'm so glad it went well! I hope you have a smooth and restful recovery.
Happy to hear it went well! Take care of yourself!
Even after you had this surgery , did menstruation stop forever...?
Yes. Once a person doesn’t have a uterus it’s impossible to menstruate
@@BodeRiis 😅👍🏻
I'm happy it went well!
Wow released same day! I am about to have one and they said 3-5 days in hospital and all the videos I'm watching says it's agonising. I hope I have the same experience as you!!
I am 2 days out from my vaginal hysterectomy. I only had to take my hydrocodone the night of my surgery. Ever since I have just taken tylenol.
1. Will I become post-menstrual after hysterectomy without cuting the ovaries, since the fallopian tube was cut off, is there even a way for hormone go through the body from the ovaries? (Sorry I'm not professional about this😔)
2. Did hysterectomy needs any parents signiture in America when over 20? What were the price than? What should I do first if I as a afab non binary want to undergo a hysterectomy in America?
3. How long should I rest after the hysterectomy at home and won't get hurt while biking or play sport?
Thank you!
1: no you will not become post-menstrual if you keep your ovaries. The hormones the ovaries produce enter your body not through the Fallopian tube but just through, the bloodstream I guess?
2: No you do not need parental permission if you’re an adult. Sometimes it can be difficult to get “permission” from doctors or surgeons to get a hysterectomy, which can be frustrating. I think the starting point is to tell you doctor exactly what you want and why you want it, and see how they recommend you proceed.
3: I think I rested two or three weeks before getting back on my bike. And six weeks before I did any heavy lifting. I do tend to heal a bit slower than others though.
I left you some messages on Instagram DM, I'm so glad everything went well!
I'm glad everything is going well! Get lots of rest and you'll be feeling good in no time
I wanted to get this surgery but read its highly likely within 5 years my ovaries will start to fail due to atrophy and id go into early menopause. Ive decided not to do the surgery. Have your ovaries failed sending you into menopause?
No. I don't believe that there are any reasons a person's ovaries would fail earlier if they've had a hysterectomy? I may be wrong, but, I don't believe my ovaries "know" that my uterus is gone. I think they're just chugging along like they used to, doing their thing.
It went so well for you! I'm very glad!
Hey,
How are you doing now?
Are your periods permenantly gone?
I’m doing great! Yes I can no longer get my periods because I don’t have a uterus any more.
@@BodeRiis wow good to know you're doing great..
please make a video including cost and some tips of the process..
Why did you have a hysterectomy ?
💖
how's your condition now
I’m great :) No problems at all
@@BodeRiis @ glad to heard that, cheers
i have to say you look in good health and it brings me joy to see you enjoy it. I would suggest you walk more as walking with out the extra mass on your chest is not something you have done in probably 15 years, even if it is only a few steps
no wait i miss read that, now i look stupid
