      @@yuridanylko Unlimited number of instruments that can and do.How many can do what this instrument does?No electricity but able to do movie sound track with just that instrument.Pretty damn inventive.

    • @yuridanylko
      @yuridanylko 9 місяців тому

      @@bootlegapples Sure, this is an incredible instrument. Is it better than any other musical instrument ever invented? I don't think so in the slightest. The fact it cannot do a basic action that "so many others" can for me is an argument for that and only that.

    • @bootlegapples
      @bootlegapples 9 місяців тому +1

      @@yuridanylko I suspect the OP was using hyperbole,it produces amazing sounds acoustically and he seems to have been quite impressed.As for the instrument yes it is able to play chords,look further into it. There were two ways to interpret "can it play a chord?' Admittedly I assumed you were attempting to undermine it by means of putting focus on it's limitations (all instruments fill niches and have limitations,this one does something unique AND sounds great).Again I think the op was using hyperbole but you seem to take it literal.Which would explain your response.

    if a proper version of the Gunslinger is ever made, whether animated or live action, THIS music absolutely should introduce the Gunslinger as he follows the man in black across the desert or as he enters the city of Tull.

    I can only imagine the intense vibrational changes within the body when playing this wonderful device. There was a monk back in the early 1800s who would chant in a huge geode under a waterfall. This cavern was so acoustically perfect that every visit the monk would sing and chant, until his spirit left the body. Instead of circling the Cosmos or going to some profound place, he said he stayed where the music not only healed his physical body, yet it healed his Astral body as well. He never left that sacred place that no one immediately knew of. After witnessing this video, I have a greater understanding of why he never left that place. I offer to you, my sincerest gratitude and am proud to call you a friend!

    the guy is from Turkey so the neck of the cello like part is a walnut staff with fishing line wrap to form the movable frets, it would have 16 notes to the octave unlike typical 12 note octave and typically is would be D A D or similar tuning. As thew frets move to accommodate many different semitones between the typical 12 note octave. I assume the neck came off a long neck Cumbas or Baglama. The springs that run from the cello to the drum heads act as a natural passive spring re-verb, the drum head are where al the sound comes from, they at like speakers and also add to the re-verb effect as well. I am only guessing at this as I am not the artist or the inventor. This guy use to lay through huge industrial size springs, but these smaller long springs are more like what you would find in a guitar amp spring reverb tank. Google Cumbas, Baglama, Turkish Saz and also other Turkish instruments. I have one of thees already under construction now here in Hawaii my wife is from Turkey and i already have 12 of the main Turkish instruments, Cumbas being I think the best of them all until I saw this !!!.
