Omg, its so hard to believe that it was invented in 21 century. This instrument is so authentic, it has so... Ancient sound. It"s like speaking with our eldest memory! I'm happy that I discovered it!
A lot of whether an instrument feels modern is going to have to do with what you play on it. If I play Arabic music on a violin it's going to sound middle eastern and old. If I play Bruno Mars it's going to sound new. But it's also a bowed instrument which is always going to give it at least a classical feel.
its even better high m8 just saying this shit needs to be at a dispensary with live music artists playing their own piece or variation of songs if they must but man rasputin sounded so sad in this set
That's so gorgeous. This should seriously become a mainstream instrument, especially in movies and video games. It could also make for an excellent piece in an orchestra.
It's the perfect drone/ambient instrument. However, as far as I can hear, the ground tone cannot change, thus it would be hard to use it in conventional orchestras, as those tend to play pieces with lots of melodic variation. Moreover, it seems to be tuned to a note that can only be matched with a microtonal instrument (my guess would be that the ground tone is something between C and C#).
I close my eyes and it brings me to Land desert but there's village and hill with lots of trees around... and i suddenly cry ... and that was beatiful !
Hans Zimmer would be lucky to have him in his orchestra making music. Can you imagine this music with Gregorian Chant? Please come to Canada you would be a hit.
There are layers to the sound that this creation produces that you just don't seem to find anywhere else. I've been listening to his performances for years now and they still move me.
Sorrow and grief are two feelings that come to mind when listening to this, and yet, you cannot turn away. It's so beautiful that the pain is worth it a thousand times over. Hard to explain but I would go through a thousand lifetimes of pain just to hear this again for the first time. I'm not high

this sounds utterly terrifying and epic at the same time, its definitely something you have to hear live to get all that magnitude of sound and different layers across.

from what I have seen on youtube this gentleman has made this unique instrument and has mastered it, first thing I did was search google to see if I could buy a yaybahar. I give credit to this guy and would honestly pay a lot just to hear him play live in an open area like this. Real work of art.
This instrument is incredible. The way it fills the entire room and makes sounds that would take several other instruments to produce. The mystery behind each note played and the different reverberations and inflections the pads at the base and the coils give them is something that intrigues me.
This, to me, invokes images of the Middle East (deserts, as you seem to imply), or Turkey. Does this musician come from Turkey? Very intriguing sound, and instrument.
Hello From Belgium. I can see the instrument and the mastering of it improved since it's conception and the first youtube videos. I can't wait the time for a true recognition of Mr GS. Would also bem my pleasure to try it someday XD ^^
Simple as simplified Kemençe stringed to couple of Def's .. perfect and really unbeliavable to have that 2 tune voice from it. greatest of all . thanks to him.

It is a musical instrument developed with the technique used by the pre-Islamic shaman Turks. That's why it feels ancient.

I can imagine a Tibetan Monk throat singing along this instrument's sound.
Also hang an tank drums...many instr an vocals.

Most beautiful yet haunting/ other worldly sounding instrument I’ve heard
Same what I thought when I first heard it. Its like several instruments in one.
This is officially my favorite instrument. I love music that sound like it's from a distant alien race. It's so mysterious and unique.

The range this instrument has is simply breathtaking. Huge respect to Gorkem. Amazing artist and engineer.
