We were once playing galli cricket in school and I was the runner. The injured batsman was so involved in chatting with the umpire that he totally forgot that he as batting. It was only after I played 4 deliveries that he realized his absence of mind.
i never knew runners were banned recently. The most nostalgic moment of childhood was we fought to be a runner for a school friend who was an excellent spinbowler but with Leg length discrepancy (LLD) and cant run like normal kids.
The reason for the existence of DLS is easy to explain, but to actually implement it is completely statistical mathematics, which everyone might not be experienced in... The DLS method is an attempt to set a statistically fair target for the second team's innings, which is the same difficulty as the original target, in the event that a team in the first innings was not able to fully complete their required overs...(Like, let's say the first team to bat was only able to bat 40 overs out of 50, but was not able to continue, due to rain)
Runners no longer allowed in international matches. Though can be used in national first class and club cricket at the discretion of the competition rules. (so it is up to the specific rules of the competition whether to allow runners or not in national leagues and knock out games)
The runner can be run out at either end, but the injured striker can only be run out at the strikers end. So, for example, the injured striker plays the ball forgets he has a runner and runs to the non-strikers end while his runners stays put behind the batting crease at the striker's end. The other batsman runs and ends up at the striker's end. In this situation even if the injured strikers has made his ground at the non-strikers end, if the bails are removed at that end, then the other (non-injured batsman) is out run out because the injured striker is deemed not to have moved on account of his runner staying put. If in the exact same situation the bails were removed at the striker's end, the injured striker is out - the batsmen are only deemed to have crossed if the runner acting for the injured striker has crossed with the (non-injured) non-striker.
If injured batsman forget and run to main unmpire crease now keeper stumped but batsman all are in crease then injured batsman man can return to keeper side or out?
Dibyajyoti Lahiri As per ICC's playing conditions, no runner is permitted. To ensure uniformity, the same is followed in local cricket as well. Remember law on runners is still in place, so ICC may think of restoring the same in future.
I have one question.. let injured batsman step out and missed the ball.. the keeper stumped.. if his or her runner to not out of the line then what happened? Is he or she out or not?
Bro, i have a doubt, if the striker and striker's runner reached the non stickers end for the 1st run. Then for the second run striker's runner only reached the striker end. But the striker is still in the non striker end inside the crease. So finally the striker's runner only in the striker's end, striker and non striker in the non striker's end. But all are inside the crease. Is the Stricker OUT for any reason?
Probably someone batting down the order, but there is no obligation to use a tailender and therefore run the risk of tiring out your bowler when you may have to bowl again - if batting last not so important. Yes, with both openers in and one gets injured, I guess, by strict logical interpretation, if the non-injured opener gets out then he would be more or less obliged under the laws of the game to take over as runner
In that case, the Non-Striker would be out. Law 30 states that If they don't cross each other, than the crease belongs to the batsmen that is closest to it. ua-cam.com/video/rhs1qkAkwqM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Lord%27sCricketGround

Vijay Kumar that was a good fair story
😂😂🥰🥰
I think this law is modified . Presently no runner is allowed
That's only in international cricket
It is only for ICC matches
That was before 1975
i never knew runners were banned recently. The most nostalgic moment of childhood was we fought to be a runner for a school friend who was an excellent spinbowler but with Leg length discrepancy (LLD) and cant run like normal kids.
Please elaborate DLS rule..Its the Most difficult thing than maths for me. 😂😂
even MCC doesn't know how to explain that. 😂😂😂
@@WSTRNS 😂😂😂 true bro..
DLS is not only difficult to explain, it's almost impossible. It considers statistical data of matches that had similar runs/wickets.
Basically it is computer algorithm

Beautiful explanation. Immense thanks for all of your videos. Simple and ample.

What happens then?
The injure batsman gets out or we'll go with the runners?

Wait so runners are allowed again?
Dibyajyoti Lahiri Runners have always been allowed, only in International matches are they outlawed

This is the most hardest law of cricket ever I have heard of🤔🤔
Batsman and runner reached other end after hitting then fielder hits at wicket keeper end ., it's out or not out???
I have one question.. let injured batsman step out and missed the ball.. the keeper stumped.. if his or her runner to not out of the line then what happened? Is he or she out or not?
Its out. Watch at 1:20 thats what they are saying.
What's the point? No runners are allowed anymore.
Raghunandan Reddy C in international cricket, domestic still has tbem
It's uploaded in 2017
What's the rule aply if batsman and help Runner runs to the same end and complete the run... Out or not out

Runners are not allowed in international matches. Not 100% sure about 1st grade/representative but definitely not in international.
I'm pretty sure that's up to each individual competition to decide
If opener is injured then who will be s runner for him ? As he has not batted before ???
They might move him to bat at 3
@@Moleoflands what if he gets injured during batting?
if openers get injured so who will run for them

A substitute Player?
Abhi toh nhi h n runners
better grapic than cricket 19 games
Can Runners be allowed without an injury?
It's not even allowed with injury in ICC matches.
Can the batsman be stumped if the batsman is out of the crease but the runner is inside the crease
Ya both has to be inside the line
Basically either both are in, or if one is out of the crease, they both are
Batsman and runner reached non striking end after hitting then fielder hits at wicket keeper end ,.... it's out or not out????
If it is a dead ball who will be the strike then
When both batsmen are out of the crease but have not crossed each other and fielder throws the ball at non striker's end, then which player is out?
In that case, the Non-Striker would be out. Law 30 states that If they don't cross each other, than the crease belongs to the batsmen that is closest to it.
