Thanks for the video! Trying to get into KILLTEAM myself and learning the rules. Caught one thing: @45:00 You can't reroll a die that was already re-rolled. Other things have been mentioned in other commentaries: E.g. you mistook "balanced" for "ceaseless".
Great battle report, thanks a lot. Just 2 quick questions. - The 2 CP for 2nd player doesn't apply turn 1 normally right ? - at 10:07 he could have shoot as the ennemi operative is less than 1" from heavy terrain. So would be just in cover as the attacker is on a vantage point. Am I correct ?
Can anyone help me understand what happened around 1:42:37 please? What was the ability and why couldn’t he at least attempt to save? (Great video - doing my best to learn the rules and found this quite useful but did lose track by this point!)
It was melee combat and in melee the person who starts combat hits first. With the guard only having 1 wound the angel of death just needed 1 success as melee combat doesn't get saves. With purity seals (under equipment) angels of death can get a normal success if they roll two fails. Melee combat is a great way to finish an enemy unit that is wounded as there are no saves, just damage taken and damage parried.
@ You know what, your reply has made me realise just how much I’ve learned in the two weeks since I left my comment, as this now seems obvious but didn’t at the time at all! So that’s nice! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain though
@@kevconflict for sure man I love to be helpful. Anything cool you learn? I'd love to know as I'm fairly new too, only 1 game with angels and made SO many mistakes.
@ Angels here too! Love my space chads. The biggest challenge I’ve found is cognitive load, especially with all the equipment, faction rules and ploys to remember in addition to the actual general game rules! Here’s how I’ve ended up tackling it (and I’m still doing most of this, definitely takes time) 1) Read that sheet of special weapon rules on the app (page 3 of the lite rules) every night before bed. Seriously, so helpful to just focus on memorising these first. Reduces that cognitive load during game so you’ve got a bit more brain space for the other things 2) Also I come up with my own silly ways of remembering those special weapon rules. For example ‘severe’ is for when I’m SEVERELY LACKING IN CRITS and can turn a normal into a crit 3) Play against yourself (but like a regular game, not solo mode). This is great because you can take as much time as you need, and what I did at first was only try to play one turning point at a time and then leave it set up or take photos and notes so I could re-set it the next day and play the next turning point. Remembering two teams’ worth of stuff is quite intimidating at first (hence why I was so slow and just playing one TP per session!) but it’s actually really good training because it’s super helpful to be able to remember what your opponent has in a real game 4) Have everything for your team visible in front of you without having to flick through pages or screens on the app. The app and KT dash etc are great but seeing equipment next to ploys for example really helps combos jump out or stop you forgetting to use a re-roll that you’re entitled to because you’ve got a reminder in front of you. Even using post-it notes is good for this. Once again, playing against yourself means you can spread out and make as much mess as you need to. I also keep a paper and pen nearby so I don’t forget I’ve switched chapter tactic for that turn for example 5) The scorecard on kill team battlekit is SO helpful for reducing a bit more of that cognitive load and doing some of the maths on VPs etc 6) Focus on a tac op that’s easy to remember, rather than trying to select to win. There’s not THAT much difference if you’re not at a competitive level, but you’ll make life harder for yourself if you pick a complex one. I like Champion myself for this reason 7) Watch a lot of these battle reports! But focus on what they’re doing rules-wise as much as strategy. My frustration that led to my original comment made me want to keep watching until I could understand more of what was going on I didn’t mean to go into this much detail but hopefully this is useful for someone even if some of it is basic for yourself! Oh and with regard to Angels specifically, I’ve found taking all 4 faction specific equipment choices works well for me as they interact really nicely with your other rules, for example Chapter Reliquaries working with Wrath of Vengeance. Purity Seals and Tilting Shields are clutch. For Chapter Tactics I take Aggressive for primary and Dueller for secondary (as I have 3 assault + assault sergeant. Combine these with the Shock Assault ploy when you charge a particularly big target) and I switch the secondary for Hardy TP1 and maybe 2 while I’m waiting to get into melee. The sergeant’s bonus 3rd one I take is siege specialist to make his plasma pistol slightly better with saturate Would love to hear what you take?
@ man that battlekit is awesome! Thank for sharing it with me! Last (and first) game I went into I had no idea and the other guy did his best helping while playing too, hopefully with this I won’t be so lost. That time I took assault sgt, two assault warriors, a grenadier, warrior with underslung grenade, and heavy gunner. I gave them resolute and aggressive, I got a lot out of aggressive but nothing out of resolute so I’m thinking of changing to sharpshooter stealthy. Especially since next game is a three way with my guys being worth 2 vp each. Probably going to bring another ranged warrior and maybe even switch in the ranged sgt for free devastator doctrine, as long as I don’t forget it this time lol. Thanks for all the great tips, hopefully this next game goes better lol.
We do! Currently they are available in person at our events, however in the future, if everything goes alright, we plan on having them available for online purchase.
Great batrep. First time watching but will def come back for more. One minor comment would be that the clear dice with gold pips are very difficult to read on the video.
Tuning in late and only just started watching, but when you select the Ladders equipment you get 2 of them, not just one! Also the Regroup strat ploy seems like it was used incorrectly - the operative that others within 5" of dash towards cannot itself dash, it remains stationary. It's all new and confusing 😃
@@Squad-Games-Entertainment there is regroup which is a strat ploy but they have the chronograph equipment which is just "into the breach" but can be used on 1st or 2nd TP
The SM do not need to be on Engagement if they don't shoot during the same turn.. they can counteract anyway, whichever order they have, as they benefit from the "Astartes" rule (ref to Turning point 1 moves)... or was it for a different reason that they were put on Engagement TP1 ?
G would put some models in engagement incase he needed to shoot while counteracting and to use Wrath of Vengeance for free due to the Chapter Reliquaries equipment.
Really looking forward to getting into this! Looks great!

Great game, close tie. Thanks boys! I learned a bit from your learning experience with the new rules.
Thank for tuning in and for the double comment
New rules, same skill
What was that awesome laser you used for sightlines?? Greay video btw!🎉
Breaking into the new edition, very nice! That “Purity Seal” equipment looks like it can come in really handy!
@@johnbeaudoin7820 yes it looks to be huge! Also cool to see purity seals be a cool pice of equipment finally
oh wow, they are equally matched!
Wild! The difference was so stark last edition.
Angels of death AND Imperial fist ! Hek yeah ! Subscribed !
Is the bonus CP for going second not from TP2 onward? (subsequent turn?)
Never mind. It got caught by chat later... :)
Good thing about doing it with smart guys in chat
13:55 tp1 both players get 1CP, 1-2 starts from tp 2

We are all learning the system. Your Zealot give you Severe, so you should have retained a Crit on that Spotter Mortar Barrage at the end.
Squad-Games 4 Life!
Nice game, thanks for upload
Thanks for watching! And thanks for the compliment! It means alot!
@Squad-Games-Entertainment thank you for your work!
37:56 wouldn't the purity seal allow to change two of the 4 misses into hits?
It very well could have, there is a chance G might have used it or realistically he forgot he had it. Growing pains of the new edition.
For the melta gun shot on 19:45 - is it possible you forgot to subtract the one inch for going through the access point?
I had move move move. For the extra inch
Do you sell that dice/score box?
We do! Currently they are available in person at our events, however in the future, if everything goes alright, we plan on having them available for online purchase.
"Acktshualy" ceaseless got mixed up with balanced here. Balanced is just reroll 1 dice. One more mortar barrage doesn't benefit from shoot shoot shoot
We caught yhat later in game
what is that laser call

You don’t gain 2cp for losing initiative on the first turn. That is for 2nd turning point on.
