You can't win them all, but Italy are still one of the great nations of world football. Their record compares with the best. Tardelli's iconic goal celebration in 1982 has lived long in the memory.
I used to admire the great Italian strikers when I was a kid. Roberto Baggio, Christian Vieri, Gianluca Vialli, Gianfranco Zola, Alessandro Del Piero. Italy don’t produce these players any more. If the best they have today is Scamacca you know there are big problems

I like Spaletti and agree he’s had too little time and too much expectation with this team. However, I do not understand why Fagioli would start and play essentially the entire time. He doesn’t start for Juve and he hasn’t played in 8 months. It certainly showed as he was responsible for both Swiss goals. In any event, very poor team. A sizeable portion of this team don’t even start for their respective club teams.
He is good but he was hit with a ban with Tonali for betting on Games he just returned from the ban last month

Are you kidding me? It was his stubborn way of coaching. The team never pressed forward. And they need more Italian players on the field in Serie A. Not only 3 at any given time.
You shouldn't like Spalletti if you love italy. He has one 1 major trophy in his entire career... That is for a reason. Spalletti last season had the perfect opportunity to make napoli champions league finalists... Instead he was humiliated by milan and barely won a single game in serie A in the last 3 months of the season. He is a terrible coach compared to others who coach the top teams.
Totally disagree Barella was at fault for the first goal. Spaghetti is insane, he plays Fagioli for the last game but doesn't give him a sniff for the first two.
Swiss played really well and what happen to Italy it happens to every successful football nation once in a while. No big deal Italy will come back strong.

If you haven't got the players, the physicality and the right organisation and plan.. you're f*cked at this level. But.. The Swiss were so tactically superior and comfortable in execution of their method that the Italian players didn't stand a chance.. and they knew it as the game progressed. It was humiliating for them.
Never heard more of a mess of an interview. Spaletti i really had ful faith in him and after this and listening to his reaponse i realise he doesn't have a clue on how to fix what he did with this team. What a shame. To smile about these things when italys future has never looked so bad with barely n answer on what he did wrong makes the whole sotuation for our national team seem completely dead. What a disaster
