Some fun background info about Discoveryland in DLP: the attractions and aesthetic of the land are (at least initially) mostly based on the works of French 19th century author Jules Verne, so that's why the whole land has a general steampunk copper/patina vibe everywhere and why it's not Tomorrowland, but Discoveryland. The premise isn't that you're in the future per se, because Verne's novels were written in the 19th century, but that you're exploring new frontiers, which he always wrote about in his books. When Disney was creating the park and working on its theming, it was really conscious of the sometimes tenuous relationship that the French have with (what is often perceived as) American cultural imperialism, and I think tried to be sensitive to critiques of the French intelligentsia of the time that Disney was colonizing the heart of France for the US and that French culture was being snubbed. The park was rather controversial among the French, I think I read once that there were even attacks on nearby electrical substations to sabotage construction progress in the late 80s/early 90s. And the early years of the park were sort of seen as a flop, with the park costing Disney a lot of money. So I think Discoveryland (which opened later than the park's opening date if I'm not mistaken) was a gesture of goodwill on the part of Disney Imagineering to the French that they were serious about incorporating French culture and their contributions to Western civilization within the creative aspects of the park. And it pretty much worked, because "Space Mountain: de la Terre à la Lune" was a massive success when it opened (it's probably the best Space Mountain of all the parks even today honestly, I always loved riding it) and is often partially credited with turning the park's fortunes around, since the start was rather rocky. But now, as you mentioned, DLP is Europe's most visited theme park, and maybe even its most popular tourist destination. And not just Space Mountain, but many of the attractions in Discoveryland (at least on opening day) were a nod to Verne's works. The Nautilus submarine you mentioned is of course famous in Disney lore for the film "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," and that film happens to be an adaptation of Verne's novel "Vingt mille lieues sous les mers," so the synergy only makes sense there. And you did sort of mention this in passing in your video when you were in the queue for Hyperspace Mountain, where you referred to the opening day backstory about sending guests to the moon. This is because the theming of the ride on opening day was based on Verne's novel "De la Terre à la Lune: trajet direct en 97 heures 20 minutes," in English "From the Earth to the Moon, a direct route in 97 hours and 20 minutes." The cannon positioned on the side of the "mountain" is meant to "shoot" trains of riders to the moon, and the sequences inside the mountain building were themed around space and stars to simulate their journey through space to the Moon. At 6:20 when you're in the queue you show the schematics of the cannon called the Columbiad. This is the cannon that shoots people to the Moon, which in Verne's novel takes place in the US and was made by the fictional "Baltimore Gun Club," and you can even see that branding on the cannon schematics in the queue art. The cannon of course does actually exist (sort of), since it's where guests are shot into the top of the "mountain" at the start of the ride. Discoveryland is probably one of my favorite Disney "lands" for all the care and attention they put into paying homage to the French heritage of innovation and exploration in literature, much of which directly inspired Walt Disney himself as a futurist. It's definitely the best, most cohesive and timeless iteration of Tomorrowland of all the parks, and DLP in general is probably the most beautiful Disney park in the world. Love the video! I have so many wonderful memories visiting DLP when I lived in France, always a treat to relive it. :)
When I saw the castle light up and then the parade going, I almost burst into tears because it brought back to me memories of Disneyland Anaheim for me. Thank you Chris, Amanda and Miles 🥰
Was great to see Ludovic and Jimmy again. Love their version of Small World. Thanks for showing us this beautiful version of Disneyland. Chris, Amanda & Miles, you are all amazing and you make a difference…and I am talking to you.🤗👍
Wow!! I literally got goosebumps when you walked around the corner and the castle with that gorgeous sunset came into view!!! Amazing!! What a truly magical place, Disneyland Paris ✨️❤️
Just love the video for Disney Paris. you’re so animated CHRIS when describing the Star Wars ride. You’re so hilarious. You make this video so fun and as always, you make me laugh. It looks like you, Amanda and Myles are having an amazing time and there’s nothing better than having friends with you. The best thing I like was at the haunted mansion , because it had a different story. Love the ratatouille ride. The Disney castle just absolutely beautiful. The hotel was so magical. Thank you so much CHRIS for sharing.
Aww! I loved the Electrical Sky Parade! Seeing Elliott the dragon flying over the castle was delightful! I’m glad to see these drone shows get so creative! Starting off with the Electric Parade theme got me so nostalgic too.
Hi Chris, Amanda and Miles… Loved the sunset over the castle! And then at the end of the day when I saw the special electrical sky parade, I felt almost emotional. I have been going to Disneyland my whole life and saw the electrical parade from the very beginning, and it never gets old, but this was on a whole new level, it was very special!
DL Paris is really the refinement of the original "castle" parks in this regard, Tony Baxter and the Imagineers poured as much detail and thought into this park as they could. Just wish they get investment to expand and add some much needed new attractions.
There is so much about this video that I love. So good to see Ludovic, Jimmy and Inez again. I have got to go on Thunder Mtn. Paris. That sunset was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing all the fun with us!
When my oldest son at 19 going in Army back in '92 he had a tape of all music from the rides and the Electrical Parade he played it 100 times over n over the night b4 boot camp.❤
Ella and I were so happy to run into you guys there. It made our trip that much better. You 3 are so amazing and getting to talk to you was so special. I’d love to send you a picture that you took, but not sure how. Hugs!
Paris is my home park but we're making our way over to california in september for the first time! I absolutely can not wait. We do have the better versions of a lot if not all of the rides (because its so much newer) but disneyland california is seeped in so much disney history that we just dont ha e in paris. I am so excited to visit Walt's park ❤
I really hate DLP. Huge lines, bad renovations, arrogant slow working personnel and you feel like you're being robbed constantly. Also, not enough rides and Walt Disney Studios is like a half day park. There's so many better (Disney) parks to visit imo.
It never fails, I turn on a Provost Park Pass video for the warm Disney fuzzies and you hit me right in the feels with the words I need to hear. Always remember that your mini pep talks DO help people who need it. The random moments of caring are so rare in the world and appreciated.
Describing the tomorrow land ride omg I'm dying "... and we were like aaahhhh" I dyed! Then you guys come out with the French Darth Vader I just can't 😂😂😂 You sir earned yourself another subscriber 😂😂😂❤ Bravo👏👏👏 I think the whales are from fantasia maybe 2000.
I noticed that as well when I visited - at first you think 'oh, it's like Main Street in Florida,' but then you start noticing the little differences along the way. And the two arcades are SO needed in Orlando - especially at closing time!
I have severe anxiety I could NEVER be around that many ppl at one time, so I really appreciate you giving these walk through. Have you thought about a go pro? Just wondering
As someone from the UK, this is my home Disney park. It’s the one I’ve been to the most. Lovely to see you here! My first trip was not long after it opened in 1992. I was 5. I have since been in 2000, 2005, 2013 and 2017. I am taking my son (he will be just under 4) in April next year for the first time. I think he will love it! Space Mountain is amazing but I do wish they would go back to the old Jules Verne theme. That fitted in with it being in France more. I’ve only ever been to WDW Magic Kingdom, but I think the Disneyland Paris castle is more beautiful than the one in Florida! Edit: « Je m’appelle Darth Vader ». I love it! Not been on Star Tours there since they changed the scenes. Take care! x
It was so lovely to watch this - it brought back so many memories of when I visited the park shortly after it opened, with my mum and my little sister (my mum passed five years ago). Drones weren't a thing back then, of course, but I remember the original Electrical Parade - I think they have captured the esscence of it beautifully! The park has changed and grown so much - I think it's time I paid it another visit!
My friend is planning a trip to Disneyland Paris. I'll have to share this video with her. Also, it was great to meet you at Disneyland yesterday. I'm Candra from Oregon. Keep up the great videos, they definitely helped a lot planning my trip.
A visit to Disney Paris is on my bucket list. This park reminds me so much of Disneyland here in Cali. Thank you for sharing your visit, it's preparing me for when we go. You do such a good job filming your visits, I feel like I'm there. I get so excited. And your energy is fantastic and adds in to that excitement! 🤗😃
I loved my visit to Disneyland Paris. I saw a post that said it was cheaper to go from the USA to Disneyland Paris for a week than a week in WDW. I took that as a challenge...and they were right. One thing about the square trees off the side of the castle, it is basically the sheet music notes for the Cinderella Waltz. I hope to go back again soon and catch the new Electrical Parade Drone Show. That has always been my favorite parade Disney ever did. As far as the smell of gasoline...yes...it will be strange to see the Autopia go electric and lose the sound and smell.
Yaaaay seeing you in my home park always makes me so happy! You really show how beautiful it is ❤ so glad you got to see the drone show, it's on my list to see before it goes! That sunset brought a tear to my eye and made me feel terribly homesick! Thank you guys! ❤
Chris... just to start off.. love your videos.. I totally enjoy your accurate depiction and recreation of how you animate your experience through the French space mountain :) The world needs more Provost family's. I also want to thank you for your encouraging words of wisdom when you address your viewing public with your words of inspiration. I've just been in a total slump as of late because I lost my wife 4 months ago. Enjoy your journey through Europe with Miles and Amanda. Safe travels my friends. Ps. Your travels enable people who cannot afford to experience different countries to visualize the world through your eyes. God Bless..
I enjoy watching your tour around Disneyland Paris. I have also enjoyed watching a tour of Disneyland Shanghai. I wish I can go, but my muscle disease makes it hard to watch let alone an electric wheelchair. So, watching you, Amanda and Miles visiting the parks makes it really fun without being there. Have a wonderful time!
We saw you at the Liberty arcade in the morning but you seemed to be in a hurry! This was our first visit to a disney park. I really like your videos! Have a great stay here in Europe!
Hey Chris great video. Just an FYI Crush's coaster other than the front part they tacked on this is literally the spider at lagoon in a building. Same ride. Same layout.
I visited Disneyland Paris with my family a couple of months ago. Nice to see it again in your nice video. I like the videos about Efteling too. Greetings from The Netherlands! 23:42 I would call that a chimney 😉
Hi Chris, Amanda and Miles. Enjoyed riding as all three of you went through DSNYLND Paris. I loved seeing this Park for won't be going there. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to having all of us feel as if we are right next to while you are filming. What a cool place to visit. Happy Blessings.
My wife & I are considering going to Disneyland Paris next year. Is it really worth going to. We have been to Disney World several times & are going to Disneyland for our 1st time in December.
I think I remember seeing your funny fast-motion description of Hyper-Space Mtn before my visit to DLP last fall. Now seeing it again, I laughed again and found it spot-on.
Love your videos and I'd love you to see / experience Phantasialand! Especially the F.L.Y. acttraction - dont know if there are sny similar attractions anywhere. The way you are seated and turned before the ride starts...
This looked like it was a fun day! You really make me want to go and spend a few days so I can take my time and just wander around. You're making me hungry with all that good looking food...traveling anywhere is so expensive though :(
My dream is take the Fam there one day. I know it's not needed at Disney but I started learning French and now my kids want to learn French too. Fais bon voyage!!
That scene on Star Tours is at Disneyland! Was just there last month and sat l saw it a couple of times! Also that Hyperspace Mountain sounds amazing!!
Aw man! I'm in Disneyland California, today. Didn't expect it but I have to admit I kept an eye out for ya. I'll watch the video when my wife and kids wake up from their mid afternoon nap. We're properly worn out and took a break back at the hotel, trying to recharge the batteries for the rest of the the evening. Great videos, very informative, down to earth and entertaining!
Thank you for this video Chris. I laughed at your wonderful description of Hyperspace Mountain! The castle at sunset was jaw-dropping gorgeous! And as for the smell of gasoline ... I can tolerate it for short periods but I believe to inhale the fumes is dangerous for one's lungs (like second-hand smoke) so I avoid it when I can. Thank you for your videos Chris and for including Miles and Amanda and your friends in scenes. 🙂
Given the fact I live 3 hours away and having been there about 6 times: EVERYTHING I've seen from all the other parcs (I've only been to Disneyland and DCA in Anaheim twice), Disneyland Paris is 10 times more magical. Everything in the US is so colorless and pale. Blue, grey... and that's about it. I do like the 'old American' style, but when you go to a Disney park, you expect a certain degree of 'everything is perfect'. It breathes fairy tales, has more atmosphere, most of the attractions are way more 'finished up' than the same ones in the US, even the souvenir shops are way less 'corporate'... And still, if I'm in the US or any other country where there's another Disney park, I will always make time to pay a visit...
Love your vids, energy and that you are enjoying the Euro tour :)! One small thing on the Big Thunder mountain, I believe they are based on Bryce Canyon, not Monument Valley.
Fireworks are amazing, will always be amazing, and I will always want to watch them. That being said, I don't think I would be too upset if the other Disney parks had drone light shows like that instead of fireworks! That was amazing! Thank you for sharing that with us.❤
DL Paris still has a nightly fireworks show, they start just a few minutes after the drone show ends. They are a bit limited on the higher/larger/noisier fireworks, saving those for several events per year - due to restrictions with the areas neighbouring the resort.
Hey Chris! Thank you for ALL your videos! Question - we’ve heard Disneyland Paris will be undergoing major ride refurbishments next summer. We’d love to plan our first trip Disneyland Paris next summer but are hesitant if many rides will be closed. Do you have any insight or news about this?
The scene with the whales is from Ahsoka and from Rebels, they’re called purgil. We just saw that scene at WDW! I love Disneyland Paris, your video makes me want to go back
The sunset behind the castle was absolutely stunning. With all the food Miles ate, it sounds like he’s getting ready for a growth spurt.
Disneyland Paris is the BEST castle park ever!

Such a beautiful sunset! I agree, the Disneyland Paris castle is the most beautiful by far. ❤
Aw the electrical parade music is so nostalgic , my fave growing up seeing it every summer at mk❤

Yes, Ludovic! That dude is cool. 👍👍👍
I visited Disney Paris and I loved!!!❤❤❤ The main street is very similar to Magic Kingdom here in Orlando!
I noticed that as well when I visited - at first you think 'oh, it's like Main Street in Florida,' but then you start noticing the little differences along the way. And the two arcades are SO needed in Orlando - especially at closing time!
Thank you for the joy you share with so many people. I watch your videos over and over and always learn something. Thank you again.
Disneyland Paris is a masterpiece of design! I love it! 😍
The sunset was amazing!! I loved the electrical parade! It’s been one of my favorites for years. I for sure cry happy tears just watching it.

Thank you for one of the most magical sunsets I’ve ever seen! Just beautiful!
Wow! What am INCREDIBLE shot of sunset on Mainstreet!!
We met you in Disneyland Paris a few days ago, right near the entrance!! Thank you for taking the time to stop and chat, it really made our day!
It was my pleasure. 💚💙
Your videos are great, but even better is your enthusiasm and best is your message. It's obvious that you're a sincere person. Thanks.
Wow, thank you!

✨✨Another fantastic DLP vlog! These are my favorite ones to watch - merci ✨✨
The sunset was perfect, Chris!!! Love your video, love Paris!!!
45:55 you need the Belgium version using, they also using Dutch Frikandel.
I’m so excited to watch this video as I’ll be there next March! This past March I visited the Tokyo parks and watched your videos to prep!
Yaaaay seeing you in my home park always makes me so happy! You really show how beautiful it is ❤ so glad you got to see the drone show, it's on my list to see before it goes! That sunset brought a tear to my eye and made me feel terribly homesick! Thank you guys! ❤
You had me totally laughing as you described Hyperspace Mountain!
Loved this. I went to DLP in Feb 2023. Was cold! I need to go again. I missed a bunch, thanks for all the insight!
Thank you for the phantom manor I have never seen the one in pairs I love haunted mansion ride. This was awesome. I loved this whole video ❤ thank you
A really enjoyable video. The ending with the sky parade was so fun!
Chris... just to start off.. love your videos.. I totally enjoy your accurate depiction and recreation of how you animate your experience through the French space mountain :)

I also want to thank you for your encouraging words of wisdom when you address your viewing public with your words of inspiration.

The Pergulls are also a scene in Disneyland Annahiem Star Tours
We saw you at the Liberty arcade in the morning but you seemed to be in a hurry! This was our first visit to a disney park. I really like your videos! Have a great stay here in Europe!
We do see real castles quite often here but they are still very cool to me. This one does look like a fairy castle. Beautiful.
Hey Chris great video. Just an FYI Crush's coaster other than the front part they tacked on this is literally the spider at lagoon in a building. Same ride. Same layout.
I don't know why, but I started tearing up seeing that GORGEOUS sky behind the castle. Crazy!!!
Wow, that castle sunset!!
Ludovic at Knotts is one of my favorite....."Karl Malone"
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I would love to go there someday.
Rarely seen someone so excited about simple Raclette :D
Greetings from Switzerland
So good to see Ludovic again! Hope he’s doing well.

Awesome.
Yes. That Ahsoka scene in Star Tours is in Disneyland. Not sure about Florida though.
6:40 he had one too many coffee 😅
Thank you for this video Chris. I laughed at your wonderful description of Hyperspace Mountain! The castle at sunset was jaw-dropping gorgeous! And as for the smell of gasoline ... I can tolerate it for short periods but I believe to inhale the fumes is dangerous for one's lungs (like second-hand smoke) so I avoid it when I can. Thank you for your videos Chris and for including Miles and Amanda and your friends in scenes. 🙂
That reenactment of Hyper Space mountain was epic!😂
Chris, Amanda and Miles. Thank you for your insight to Disneyland Paris.
Thank You for sharing such an awesome visit!!!!!
oo La la, awesome, wow, epic, cool, Some day Chris you have to meet Brain Hull ,he does Disney Impressions around the parks on UA-cam.
I would love to go to Disneyland Paris just to ride their version of Big Thunder mountain!! Looks so beautiful! 🙂
Love your vids, energy and that you are enjoying the Euro tour :)! One small thing on the Big Thunder mountain, I believe they are based on Bryce Canyon, not Monument Valley.
Bucket List time for me! Merci, Chris. 💕
That sunset looks like a painting!
@@nightowlnzab That’s good to know, thanks.
Does ludovic or jimmy have their own channel?
Our family’s favorite park! ❤️
Thank you Chris!
I love how the mayor of Thunder Mesa is recycled audio from Paul Frees. I was really missing him on this ride
Hi Chris, great video! The red5 xwing was Luke's xwing.
Love the smell of gas! This park is fabulous! Thank you Chris, Amanda and Miles.
Hey Chris! Thank you for ALL your videos! Question - we’ve heard Disneyland Paris will be undergoing major ride refurbishments next summer. We’d love to plan our first trip Disneyland Paris next summer but are hesitant if many rides will be closed. Do you have any insight or news about this?
"They" did GOOD! placing that sunset behind the castle like that. 😁 🔥
The scene with the whales is from Ahsoka and from Rebels, they’re called purgil. We just saw that scene at WDW! I love Disneyland Paris, your video makes me want to go back
Amazing video, if only I could like it multiple times...
