I fully believe that Senjumaru was chosen to use Bankai because everybody who is associated with Mayuri gets a Kubo screen time buff
I think the meta reason is because she's a fashion designer and Kubo wanted to become one. I bet she's Kubo's favorite of the 0 Division.
The in-universe reason, I think, is versatility. Her Bankai seems to be customizable to counter her opponent(s). The others probably have a more static type Bankai that wouldn't be suitable to the variety of powers the Schutzstaffel brought to play.

Kisuke- no brainer, funny enough in klub outside he stated kisukes design is based off a moomin character that was “so cool”
Szayel - re used him for the Hell arc one shot and also chose him specifically to be in the special Hellverse one shot WAAAY back in 2010, also he approved of SAFWY which has a huge Szayel/Cien lore buff, also appears in TYBW
Giselle -Kubo stated in Klub outside that he likes all the bambis, but he also chose Giselle (and Liltotto) specifically to survive the final saga and gives Giselle more character than the other bambis
Pernida - the only guard to get a lore flashback in ep 24
Senjumaru - Now has the most screen time of any squad 0 in Cour 2 and the only Bankai we’ve seen other than Ichibei, also yes a fashion designer

The visuals for Senjumaru’s Bankai were amazing, the anime did a fantastic job at conveying the level of power that was being used!
Shutara going all out in the anime was epic. It becomes all the more sobering in the aftermath when she finds out the truth of what exactly they are guarding. Her expression becomes one of outrage as Ichibei recounts the betrayal of the Spirit King, especially him surrendering to and complying with everything the ancestors wanted only for them to gouge him regardless. For all her brutal bluster she has standards. Squad Zero is a pack of power in either case.
She didn’t go all out, she used the ‘smallest amount’ of her power and the rest of 0 squad told her don’t go crazy so she’s still holding back

They way Hikifune and Oetsu talked, make me think Shutara's Bankai is either customizable to her opponent(s), or that she has countless abilities in said Bankai that she can choose from to counter said opponent(s).
If so, then those already insane abilities are just scraching the surface of what she could do.
I'm pretty sure it's a mix of both options.
True which I don't know anything about the manga or what's coming up but her being the 4th strongest out of squad zero(on one list I've seen) is unfathomable to me cuz she basically trapped them mfs in a dimension and killed with her bankai and/or changed the fabric of that world like bro that's insane
@@G4KW Those lists are probably based on the manga where her only feat (combat wise) was beating Nianzol. Which is better than Hikifune purely because Hikifune had no feats. All she does in the manga during the battle is make that womb.
In the manga, the fight is off-screen from the moment Lille revives and shoots Oetsu.

@@G4KW Being a manga reader, even though I already know the inevitable outcome, I am deeply anticipating how it will play out. For us, this was redemption. Especially for those like me who have been trying to defend the 0 Division's performance from the fans that were left deeply upset and disappointed by their manga showing.
Finally, Squad 0 done justice.
These episodes proved that they are indeed more powerful than ALL the 13 Squads COMBINED. The only one who comes close to their power is probably Aizen, and 'a big maybe' Ichigo in terms of raw strength (with his full hybrid powers in control).
They were even stronger than the Elite Sternritter, each of which later required multiple captains and hax powers to defeat them. Ichibe was stronger than Ywach except against Almighty, which is just pure hax.
No one is shown to affect three worlds when they release their power. Some people might compare Yama to them, but his raw power of flames and heat was the only thing that affected the area (just part of one world). Squad 0 affected the worlds when they released their bankai, just in terms of raw power.
Before these dual batch of episodes- I thought they were quirky inventors who got off against most enemies with their unorthodox powers but against real threats- the real power was Ichibe with the others being the opening act.
But now I see that they’re so broken that they require tons of restrictions to even release their powers that tend to be very reality warping in nature- except Ichibe whose powers are much more esoteric in nature and doesn’t threaten reality by releasing like the other four unless he really does it.
I think even Ichibe can affect the worlds, but he has much more control. Ywach did not even sense him when he released his bankai, so you could say he is just on a different level to those 4. And if those 4 can affect the worlds, imagine if Ichibe releases his powers fully.
yeah, the Squad Zero members have some pretty broken powers, but they also come with restrictions to control their reality-warping abilities. Ichibe's powers, on the other hand, are more esoteric and don't pose as much of a threat to reality when released.

She literally hasn't done anything that was so terrifying more than unohana. In multiple polls I see them pit up against each other and I'm like "the strange unohana hate again?!" It subtly shows how men see women in general and anything feminine adjacent. It's ridiculous. Where is all the comparison to the other male captains. Why is it unohana has to be compared? As soon as people see she isn't a pushover you have the haters changing people's minds and doing it successfully to make it so that unohana is still weak and only espada level.... The new reveal of the true power of the 0 division makes complete sense when you think about it, it fits perfectly when you think about the "offscreens" all the 0 division haters were talking about when their "defeats" were "disappointing" I always said, you never know what happened in the offscreens, I am glad this is what they filled the offscreens in with.

@@mathisleyenda8724 But I always theorized there was more to it than just these guys were wiped out like that, I mean Kubo made it a point to say the 5 of them were more powerful than the entire Gotei 13, so I knew there was more to their "defeats" than what was shown in the manga chapters, Kubo was simply in such a rush at the time he was creating this show, that he didnt fill alot of parts with context like you would think he should have.
As a manga reader I felt very disappointed when squad zero (except Ichibe) got done off screen and saw 13 squad captain facing off royal guards and hold their own. But I was aware Shonen rushed Kubo to close off his show so I understood he couldn’t give them proper justice. I knew once the anime comes out we will see more that kubo didn’t get to show which is why im hella invested in bleach.
Jugram noted that it was fortunate for squad 0 to not battle Yhwach so just imagine how op BASE Yhwach is.

My favourite part is where she says “thump” “thump” after trapping the royal guard in her bankai. She had such a terrifying presence before she even began defeating them.

Ichibe vs Yamamoto was always a stupid debate. In the manga ichibe activates Shikai and no spiritual pressure is felt by Base Yhwach. This fact alone puts him far above Yamamoto. He's a transcendent being like Ichigo and Aizen became. He does things that no soul reaper can do without even his Shikai. That's the level of squad zero.
Yeah he controls all black in the universe and can steal 100 nights of time from the future to obliterate you from existence on a conceptual level, it’s silly that people ever thought Yama could clear that bar

After the latest episodes of cour 2, ive been thinking about what would've happened if Aizen managed to get to the royal palace. I don't think he's defeating Squad Zero on his own (for the time being)
He had the power to replace the soul king which puts him leagues above them that don't have SK level powers. He's also stated to have trancend all hollows and soul reapers. He's also immortal, has the hogoyku and a passive KS. I don't think he's struggle in his butterfly form or onwards tbh.
We also cant forget this is aizen, if he was planning to replace the soul king we can probably assume he already had a plan to counter squad zero plus he was already getting stronger by the second only reason he was defeated is cause ichigo suddenly got stronger which aizen didnt expect
Aizen’s evolved forms are leagues above their base forms, they will be forced to fuse very quickly. He will evolve even further and just break out of her Bankai.
Now where this gets dicey, I don’t know if Ichibei wins or not.

Good question, Transendant reiatsu would win, Senjumarus Multiversal feat is impressive, but transcended/transcending beings by logic cannot be put down by anything not even Reality manipulation, Either it won't work or work very little so if Kenpachi were here or Aizen, Mugestsu etc they would've been above this Senjumaru feat for sure

Since one (Ichibe) was responsible for giving a *Name* and the other (Oetsu) was the creator of *Zanpakuto*, which one came into the presence first? Isn't it paradoxical?
Shinigami have existed before Zanpakutōs were a thing. Ichibe may have been naming other things and phenomena in Soul Society. Fans speculated that Ichibe could've been the creator of Kido. Given his skill with Kido and the mechanics behind Kido, it's not hard to see why. Heck, his Shikai and Bankai ability seems like a blend between Zanpakutō and Kido.
Ichibe came first. Oetsu makes swords and Ichibe knew the name of all his swords the moment he hands them out.

If you consider all things, the "god" of Bleach is not Reio, but Ichibei.

I have to say the strongest bankia would be linked to a super high power spiritual power to make a shikia that's is amount but bankia that spreads out that makes everyone a copy but held to mortal human capacity. The bankia would lock the two in a dual as a human version of themselves. So if you agree to the dual the weapon you have will be the one you use but if your holding a 1k lbs spiked ball... you can't pick it up. If you control the mind don't work, controlling blades or sending spirt pressure... nope. Your locked in to a duel to the death as a human mortal if you die in battle you died as a human soul. If in the dual you surrender a brand will appear and a brand will be marked on their souls They will get their full power back but if the true to cross this person they will be stuck mortal until they die.
All this person has to do is master kido, so the use of bankia is not needed, and and the bankia is everything becomes what it would be in the human world. So the holder should master all blades skills because it's a dual based on skills and mortality.
Even if they can shake heavens and earth. Remember that they are still considered 2dimensional beings compared to Aizen who transcended into 3dimensional being with reatsu that cannot be detected unless with the same level of power. So it is understandable that they will just be clapped by yw or the royal sternritters.
Aizen may be stronger in a 1v1, but he's getting clapped if all of them jump him, ichibei alone has a high chance of beating him with prep

Aizen’s 5D he Transcended the Cleaner which was 4D and it was stated by Hikifune that Ichigo and Renji Trancended into a Different Dimension after eating her food
The way I see it they are stronger than every other characters bar the obvious ones like Ywach, Soul king, Ichigo and Aizen. But because they are new characters they can’t be the ones to win so they die. While they are strong the story can’t let them be at their true ability

Ichibei was shown affecting all three worlds with just his shikai when he was absorbing all the black, he should also have more control over his reitsu, he's exempt from the blood oath because he's the only one that can bring them back after seppuku
Edit: someone pointed out that ichibei is transcendent so it makes sense that lower beings can't feel his SP
Unfortunately, with all the hype on Shutara's Bankai, biggest disappointment is that, it looks like Uryu's gonna survive and escapes it lols haha

I don't think Senjumaru's Bankai does any of the things you said. What I think it does is capture the victims into her loom's cloth and and "weaves" the aspects of the victim's inevitable death into the cloth alongside said victims themselves. Trapping them in the cloth in a pseudo state of death for the rest of eternity . But we'll have to wait for cour 3 to get any solid understanding of her bankai since the Sternritters she "killed" will inevitably return in cour 3.

Yes, in the novel, Zaraki is probably the strongest shinigami in terms of raw strength (not hax). The only ones stronger than him are Aizen and Ichigo.
